The social forestry groups in Merangin Regency, Jambi Province consisting of LPHD Lubuk Birah, LPHD Lubuk Beringin dan LPHD Rio Kemunyang are the groups that have been assisted by social forestry assistance. The business in these groups is underdeveloped as indicated by unavailiability of market access, limited capital, weak institutionalism, etc. The objective of this research is to discover strategy of assistance in social forestry groups business development in the 3 (three) aforementioned groups. The data are collected by conducting in-depth interview, observation, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD), also by distributing questionnaires. They are analyzed by using SWOT analysis with Internal Factor Analysis Summary (IFAS) and External Factor Analysis Summary (EFAS). Based on the SWOT analysis, it is found that the position of assistants is at quadrant IV (defensive strategy) which indicates that it is in unfavorable position where weakness and threat are more serious than its strength and opportunity. The strategy of assistance applied today is on increasing capacity of the assistants in business development, conforming outcomes of groups business with market needs, increasing intensity of effective communication and atmosphere with the groups, consolidating strength of the groups and improving communication with government and authorities to encounter threats of land clearing, increasing motivation of assistants, and living in the location when providing assistance.

Objective – Coffee is one of the leading agricultural commodities that has an economic contribution in several countries, including Indonesia. As the fourth largest coffee producer country in the world, Indonesia is still facing problems, especially in some areas that managed by coffee farmer group. The problem starts from upstream to downstream and is related to productivity which is still low compared to other regions. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to describe the business conditions of the farmer group studied, and planning Triple Layered Business Model Canvas (TLBMC) to develop the business of the farmer group. Empirical analysis has been carried out for this purpose. Methodology/Technique – This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analytic methods. Observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussion were conducted to collect research data. SWOT analysis is also used to gain insights and inputs used in formulating the right strategy for TLBMC formulation. Findings – The results show that the business conditions of the coffee farmers group were in a position of growth. Therefore the right strategy for this condition is the harvest strategy or divestiture strategy. The TLBMC design carried out supports the development of sustainable businesses for the coffee farmers group. Novelty – Business development for coffee farmer group using triple layered business model canvas is expected to help increase business on a broader scale. This study is important for business owners and other related parties who seek to develop the business in various aspect including social and environmental aspects. This study helps create opportunities, develop better potential and integrated with the economic, environmental and social values of the business model being run. Development in coastal border areas is an important priority for addressing social and economic disparities and conflict through empowerment programs. The objective of the research is to analyze the empowerment as community learning based on ecotourism of coastal border. This research uses qualitative method in which Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and data collection is conducted through in-depth interview, observation, documentation analysis, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and Participatory Decision Making (PDM). The research takes place in the border area of West Kalimantan namely Sebubus Village and Temajuk Village, Paloh Subdistrict, Sambas District. The informants are determined through purposive sampling consisting of empowerment activists, community leaders, village government, business groups, academics, and tourists. Data is analyzed using SWOT analysis. The results show (1) to develop ecotourism potential of mangrove forest and food processing from mangrove fruit, turtle breeding, and coastal tourism, a participatory and sustainable empowerment of community learning program is necessary. (2) Youth figures as community learning activists of ecotourism empowerment along with community leaders need support and cooperation from village and local government, as well as private parties. (3) Temajuk village in particular requires the improvement of road infrastructure, electrical lighting and telecommunication signals in order not to cause social and economic dependency and jealousy with Malaysian border areas.

Objective – This paper examines the business strategy at cut flower area. The need for cut flowers, especially chrysanthemums, is very large. The farmers of cut flowers are concentrated in Java, namely Malang, Bandungan, Yogyakarta and Cianjur in West Java. Methodology/Technique – In this study the object is in Bandungan, Semarang area. With large market conditions, it is possible for cut flower farmers to plant various varieties of chrysanthemum that the market likes. In order to fulfil the market prospect that is still wide open, chrysanthemum cut flower farmers must have business strategies that are able to provide guidance on the business being run. Production activities will develop and have an impact on farmers if supported by organizational policies that not only manage internal activities but are also able to face challenges from a dynamic external environment. Findings & Novelty – The SWOT analysis were used at this research. The strategies that should be created are increasing cooperation, maintaining networks, and expanding marketing. The need for cut flowers especially chrysanthemums flowers in Indonesia is very large. This study aims to identify and examine the internal and external factors of the development of chrysanthemum agribusiness in Bandungan Village and to determine the priority of appropriate agribusiness strategies based on the farmer’s needs. This study is descriptive analysis research with a sample of 45 Chrysanthemum farmers. Using SWOT analysis, we found the strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat for the farmers and we could design alternative business strategies. Internal Strategic Factor Analysis Summary (IFAS) is used to identify and evaluate the key internal factors of the company, while External Strategic Factor Analysis (EFAS) is used to organize external strategic factors into generally accepted categories of opportunities and threats. Meanwhile, IE matrix is used to define the business strategy at the company level with greater details. The results suggest that the farmers should strengthen the internal conditions of the farmer groups, improve the production of chrysanthemum flower, and maximize the use of production facilities and equipment, These findings imply that production activities will develop and have a positive impact on farmers if supported by organizational policies that not only manage internal activities but are also able to face challenges of a dynamic external environment. This article intends to analyse the impacts of direct elections to the community life. The impacts, in this study, are particularly on political, social, and economic sectors. This research conducted in Palu, Donggala Regency, and Parigi Mautong Regency. The findings of this study were obtained from qualitative research, which the data obtained through qualitative enquiries such as Focus Group Discussion (FGD) which involved some parties who understood, comprehended, and organised the election; in-depth interview to informants, distribute a questionnaire to 162 respondents; do a literature study, and documentary reports. The result of this study shows that the processes of election impact positively to the social and political life of the community but not the economical. Equally important finding is that there are several negative impacts throughout the implementation process of the local elections.

This research is about theopreneurship of pesantren. Theopreneurship is a relatively new study in the academic world, namely entrepreneurship based on religious values, which is rather different from entrepreneurship studies in general. This research is a descriptive analysis; for collecting data using the in-depth interview method and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). From the research it was found that the two pesantren of Muhammadiyah, namely al-Mu'amin Tembarak and Darul Arqom Patean used the Kulliyatul Mu'allimin al-Islamiyyah (KMI) model in the management of student learning, namely daily learning management for students for 24 hours of full day in the boarding schools. For the development of theopreneurship, Darul Arqom Patean uses the organizational culture formed in the pesantren environment, namely business development through a business division that was formed institutionally and the development of santri entrepreneurship motivation through the Darul Arqom Organization students (OSDA). Meanwhile, pesantren al-Mu'min Tembarak, entrepreneurship development has not yet become an organizational culture, pesantren is still looking for models and forms. For the development of the entrepreneurial ethos of students carried out through the organizational culture of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM).

Abstract.The objective of the research with the title, ‘The Participation of Youth Groups in the Business Development of the Islamic Tourism in Banda Aceh,’ is 1) to find out the condition of the business Islamic tourism in Banda Aceh, 2) to analyze the participation of youth groups in the businessdevelopment of the Islamic tourism in Banda Aceh, and 3) to formulate the strategy and policy of the participation of youth groups in the development of the Islamic tourism in Banda Aceh.Primary data were gathered by conducting in-depth interview with key informants, using purposive sampling technique. Qualitative approach was used to answer the first and the second problem formula in matching the theory with the fact in the field. Two different methods were used to answer the two formula strategy and policy: SWOT analysis was used to formulate strategy, and content analysis was used to answer the formula of policy in which Qanun design (Regional Regulation), RIPPDA (Master Design of the Development of Regional Tourism), Banda Aceh in the period of 2012-2017 was analyzed.The conclusion of the research was 1) the business development of the Islamic tourism in Banda Aceh over the last five years is increasing and developing, 2) participation of youth groups in the businessdevelopment of the Islamic tourism in Banda Aceh that were examined in the stage of planning, implementation, utilization, and evaluation is generally in the form of idea and energy, but participation in the form of providing goods and money is not found, and 3) government strategy in increasing the participation of youth groups in the development of the Islamic tourism in Banda Aceh is top-down by establishing groups of people and youth to promote and perform tourism counseling and formulating RIPPDA of Banda Aceh.Keywords: Participation of Youth Group, Development of the Islamic Tourism, Banda Aceh

Thekelan Village, Kopeng District has a special potency of ecotourism. Thekelan Village is located at an altitude of + 2000 masl with magnificent scenery and surrounded by protected forest areas. The social characteristics of the community are homogeneous, distinctive, and strong highland culture. Thekelan Village has annually received visits from universities and schools for both comparative study and live-in programs. However, the sustainability of the tourism needed to be evaluated since the community has not participated much in the tourism activity (just lodging and communication). Indicators were established to evaluate the sustainability of existing tourism in Thekelan Village. Moreover, a survey, in-depth interview, and focus group discussion have been conducted to the community to assess the readiness to develop sustainable ecotourism. The results showed that the existing tourism has failed to be sustainable. Nevertheless, the community are ready to implement a new program to improve the management of community participation in the rural tourism setting. Therefore, a sustainable ecotourism can be developed and bring more economic benefits to the local people.

<p>This study aims at describing potentials of halal tourism destination in Aceh by analyzing readiness of tourism destination through perceptions of tourism travel agents and tourists in developing halal tourism in Aceh. This study also produces right strategies to develop halal tourism by tourist destination characteristics. The data and information collection is done through FGD (Focus Group Discussion), in-depth interview and distribution of questionnaire to 327 tourists in Aceh. Based on the result of the study, Aceh is quite optimal in launching halal tourism as its tourism product yet there should be more improvements and strategies for increasing tourist attraction. The result of this study is expected to help the government of Aceh and tourism travel agents in increasing halal tourism potentials and setting strategies in developing halal tourism potentials so they could attract tourists to have halal tourism in Aceh or visit Aceh.</p>

The purpose of the research is to identify and mapping of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) condition in Bogor area, also to recommendation the policy and empowerment the policy of SMME through the stakeholder involvement, so it can be able to increase the MSMEs performance. The research’s object is MSMEs in Bogor area. It uses the SWOT analysis with the desk study research method that is collecting data or seconder information that relevant to the research activity and approach method survey that is collecting the data or primer information with in-depth interview method and Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and the parties relating to this research. Finding this research is value of IFAS score of 2.90 and the value of EFAS score of 2.55 then obtained Matric Internal-External (IE Matric). Based on the above conditions where the relative IFAS score above average and EFAS score medium, then strategy that can be applied to that position is stability strategy or growth through horizontal integration. Innovation is the main key to the sustainability of all industries. Fashion industry with traditional woven as its basic material is one of complex industries for its association with social environment in all cultural values, market taste, chain value, life cycle products and even government policy. This focus will likely be important as indigenous characteristic in the traditional woven becomes the competitive advantage of a region. The outcome of this study showed that traditional woven co-creation in design need an involvement of social actors in the social learning process. Indigenous co-creation of traditional woven is a social innovation learning activities that needs adequate involvement of actors and context. The purpose of this study is to analyze the challenges and constraints for the sustainability of Indonesian woven songket and to develop a practical co-creation model in attempt to cope with various constraints to generate recommendation for decision makers at local goverment level. This study used qualitative approach. The primary and secondary data to answer the research questions were collected through in-depth interview and focus group discussion.
