This research aims to analyze how the activities and motivations of international students resemble those of a tourist. The survey-based study of international students enrolled in academic mobility programs in Curitiba (Brazil) demonstrated that the main motivation for students to participate in international mobility relates more to personal motivation (i.e., cultural exchange) than to academic purposes. International students also acknowledged that they enjoyed the city’s tourist attractions and overall services. The motivations for choosing Curitiba are mainly the quality of life and the perceived safety of the city. Based on how students visit attractions and utilize tourist services, we propose the idea of the touristudent. Understanding international students’ motivations for mobility and their destination choice reinforces the significance that academic mobility programs have for tourism, and the implications of these findings are discussed for the tourism sector in Curitiba.

Tourism in Malang district is currently dominated by tourist attractions in the city of Batu and the Bromo area. The low number of tourists is due to the lack of development of tourism facilities in Malang Regency, including in Bedengan, Selorejo Village, Malang Regency. The Ministry of Agriculture assisted in improving the economy, but the tourism sector is still not growing. Support is needed to improve the tourist facilities in Selorejo Village. Efforts are being made, namely the development of a QR code tourism educational game with a visual theme. The methods used to develop the game included condition analysis (to obtain data from direct observations), basic concepts and planning (researchers planned what materials were needed), content design and implementation, and design evaluation. The visuals used in this game are digital painting visualizations. This tool has six digital illustration visualizations used as a background for the sketches prepared at the primary building implementation stage. It is hoped that this QR code tourism educational game could increase the number of visitors to Bedengan, Selorejo Village, Malang Regency. Keywords: QR code, game education, tourism

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to identify dominant scams against domestic tourists in popular tourism cities in China. There are two questions of concern: what types of scams do domestic tourists experience and are the patterns of scams different between the capital and regional cities? The social situation framework was employed to interpret the outcomes. Design/methodology/approach A content analysis facilitated by Leximancer software was applied to 102 Chinese travel blogs reporting experiences of being scammed in Beijing, Hangzhou, Xi’an, Sanya and Guilin. Clear themes and concepts emerged from the analysis of these travel reviews and differences in scamming patterns between Beijing and regional cities were identified. Findings The most frequently reported scams in the capital Beijing were linked to the chaotic environment at tourist attractions and the misbehaviours of tour agents. By way of contrast scams involving manipulating the weight and quality of products purchased were more common in regional cities. The differences between Beijing and other locations may lie in the greater monitoring of fraudulent practices in the capital. Additionally, the role of shills (confederates of the scammer) was highlighted in many of the scams studied. Originality/value Scams include a slightly less serious but still troublesome set of problems accompanying major crimes and assaults. Rare research specifically focussed on tourist scams despite substantive work discussing crimes against tourists as general. Implications of the present study lie in enriching the literature on scams against tourists. The analysis of scams as a special type of social situation proved to be insightful in directing attention to facets of the interaction thus providing connections to previous work and directions for further study. It is also promising to be developed to inform strategic approaches to creating a safer tourism environment in cities.

In this article, the concept of "academic mobility" is considered in the framework of internationalization of higher education as a process of moving participants (students and teachers) of higher education from one academic and educational institution to another to exchange experiences and obtain additional educational opportunities for a limited period of time or temporary study. Particular attention is paid to student mobility, which is represented by both internal and external movement of students from one country to another, between regions of the world, or within a region. Information is presented to illustrate the dynamics of changes in the quantitative characteristics of international mobility in the context of a country. Attention is paid to the factors influencing the academic mobility of undergraduate and graduate students. The study uses statistical, analytical, and sociological methods. The study reveals the types of academic mobility preferred by university students. A comparative analysis of undergraduate and graduate students' attitudes toward various forms of academic mobility is presented. Comparing the ratio of students living in student dormitories and students living in families. It turned out that students living in dormitories tend to take a more active part in academic mobility programs.
