Management innovation represents one of the most important and sustainable sources of competitive advantage due to its context-specific nature. Still, current academic literature on management innovation and standardization is slightly limited. This intensive case study explores management innovation in a large European telecommunications company with the focus on standardization in managerial practices. The research data were gathered through interviews with managers from different levels of the case company. The results show that highly standardized management innovation is effective for reaching a standard level of management in a large company; it is also a prerequisite for further systematic development. Research questions: The purpose of this study is to gain insight into how standardization emerges in management innovation in a large organization by studying the construction and conduction of a managerial toolkit in a European telecommunications company. Links to theory: The theoretical framework is based on a study of management innovations and related processes by Birkinshaw et al. (2008) and a standardization study by Wright, Wylie & Sturdy (2012) in which the tasks of an internal change agent were divided into “ standardizing agendas” and “ standardizing methods”. Phenomenon studied: Adoption process of a standardized management innovation in a large company. Case context: The case company is a large European telecommunications company which operates in a highly competitive market where organizational excellence is extremely beneficial. The case study focuses on the case company management innovation process for creating a “toolkit” for day-to-day management in the retail sales channel. Research findings: The research findings gathered through systematic combining approach show that standardized management innovation is an effective tool for implementing managerial best practices from management fashions into organizational standards. Through adapting these learnings systematically to managers’ individual work, the good “standard” level of managing can be achieved in a large-size company. Reaching these standards also appears as a prerequisite for a further systematic managerial development in the organization. Discussion: This study contributes to management innovation research by highlighting planning and coordination in introduction and successful adoption of standardized management innovation. Planning communications, setting achievable timeframes and choosing the right implementers are important aspects of implementation. Clear guidelines help employees understand the ideological background of management innovation, and close interaction between change agents and store managers promotes the adoption of management innovation. A standardized management toolkit is an effective tool for putting external leadership ideologies, known as management fashions, into practice in a large organization. However, practical implementation requires comprehensive communication and preferably internal recruitment of change agents.

Abstract: The common view of information is rooted in a mathematical tradition which considers information as an object to be exchanged. Many researchers, including analysts working in information sciences, have adopted this vision of information. However, this approach, which we have termed an object-oriented worldview, masks the contextual nature of information and the processes by which human beings make sense of it. In this paper, we propose an alternative, a subject-oriented worldview of information. In this framework, information is considered from the point of view of actors and takes into consideration the contextual and social nature of information. This approach is described and illustrated through a case study examining the productivity of a newly computerized organization.

Language, biology, and culture have been intimately related throughout human history. We cannot dispute the fact that we live in an ecolinguistic world, where human beings relate with at least one language. Language has pioneered many interracial relationships and historical milestones. Language is a necessity for basic communication and cultural diversity in human society. In dealing with linguistic aspect of acculturation in a multilingual society, it is pertinent to trace the ecology of language from an individual point of view. This study examined ecolinguistics in a multilingual society using Adekunle Ajasin University as a case study. The research design adopted was descriptive research of survey type. The sample consists of 180 students drawn randomly from the six faculties in the school. Data was collected through a self-constructed questionnaire(r=0.79) distributed to the students. Data collected was analysed using the descriptive statistics of frequency count and simple percentage for the demographic information of the respondents and analysis of research questions. Findings from the data collected unveil the rate at which Nigeria’s native languages are endangered and derogated by foreign languages. Specifically, it was revealed that language is used as the agent of cultural and bio-diversity. Findings of this study also disclosed that English language is predominantly infused into the linguistic culture of the students of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko as it is used as the students’ instrument and expression of thoughts. Conclusions are made by looking critically into the making of individuals’ bio-cultural diversity. It is then concluded that Nigerian’s native languages are considered informal and have a way of limiting ones thought thereby leading to the robustness of foreign language(s) and endangerment of these native languages. This study recommended and advocated for the enrichment and robustness of Nigerian native languages by making sure that our culture is promoted via these native languages.

This research focuses on normative juridical aspects related to the tendency of religious selection in children as a result of Interfaith Marriage (PBA). With the approach of the sociology of religion and the psychology of child development, this study looks at how the pattern of children’s education influences the tendency of the religion child's selection. Research informants are four PBA pairs taken randomly in the International Conference on Religion and Peace (ICRP) organization. The research findings explain that children's religious preferences follow the path and parenting patterns of their parents who have different religions. In this study there were at least three parenting practices applied by parents of interfaith marriages. First, parents of married couples of different religions teach two religious teachings at once. Secondly, one of the couples from interfaith marriages took over the child's religious education so that the children followed their religion. Third, an agreement to make one child join each parent's religion. The pattern of nurture and religious environment that is applied by interfaith married couples to their children, related to religion, is very influential in the development of children's religious understanding. Religious education that is tolerant and understands religious plurality is a basic basis so that children are not trapped in psychological conflicts blaming one of their parents’ religions. This research is expected to contribute to the development of family law, particularly law on protecting children.
