The purpose of this study is two-folded. The first purpose is to examine the perception of Islamic finance experts and Shariah scholars on the Islamic cryptocurrency (i.e., GOLDX and OneGram). The question is whether it has a role in reconciling cryptocurrency in Islamic finance. The second is to introduce the new Islamic cryptocurrency to serve these rich Islamic populaces. The study used a qualitative research approach by conducting interviews to explore the Islamic scholars’ views on the framework of the new Islamic cryptocurrency. The scholars have been deemed to meet particular requirements of having comprehensive knowledge and have extensive experience in both the Islamic Shariah and cryptocurrency. Accordingly, the number of such scholars was limited, and eventually, with the access offered only to five scholars from different Islamic countries. We thoroughly analyzed the collected data from the interviews. The findings reveal that Islamic law is absent on the essential models for the conventional cryptocurrency utilization(such as bitcoin) as either a legitimate or illicit apparatus exchange device. Consequently, introducing new Islamic cryptocurrencies is to reconcile cryptocurrencies such as GOLDX and OneGram. They will play a vital role in attracting more than 1.5 billion Muslims around the globe to enter the world of cryptocurrency.

Establishing an Islamic welfare state had been a burning discourse in classical and contemporary Islamic thought. Muslim scholars sketched out the principles, mechanism, infrastructure, and strategy to establish such state. This academic work was designed to explore the founding principles and best possible strategy in contemporary condition of Pakistan. As the Seerat of Holy Prophet (SAW) was a complete role model for the Muslims in all times, the researcher therefore tried to explore the Prophetic strategy of establishing the Islamic welfare state in Madinah and its application in contemporary times. Qualitative research approach was employed for the collection, analysis, and demonstration of data. The systematic review of literature and evidences from Seerah led to the conclusion that Holy Prophet (SAW) established the ideal Islamic welfare state in Madinah by promulgating four founding principles; Divine Guidance, Good Governance, Enjoining Good and Forbidding Wrong, and Gradualism. These principles were found equally beneficial for contemporary era in Pakistan. It is therefore suggested that state should realize its responsibility and implement these principles to establish an ideal, Islamic welfare state.

The COVID-19 pandemic constitutes a severe hazard: not only to human health but also to the economy on both a national and a global level. The pandemic has particularly affected the event industry, which relies on mass gatherings. This research aims to analyse the impact of COVID-19 on the event industry and propose best practices for virtual events in terms of attendee engagement. A qualitative research approach was applied to generate insights from industry experts in real contexts in Vietnam. The study drew on interviewees with four participants engaged in virtual events: two from the event industry, and two from the education sector. This research focuses on three key elements to enhance the level of attendee engagement in virtual events: the four realms of experience, storytelling and attendee objectives when joining a given event. The study also highlights the relationships among these three critical elements while offering theoretical contributions and suggesting best practices.

Competence of academics to become judges has attracted divergent opinions among legal scholars. Intellectually academics have been conducting researches and disseminating the findings of the works in journals. Outside the four walls of the universities, the scholars are helping courts to appreciate difficult legal issues by filing scholars’ brief. They appear before the courts as friends or amici curiae. In the United States, it is a tradition to appoint academics as judges, and there is similar practice in various parts of the world. Nigeria is one of the countries where academics were elevated to become judicial officers or judges of Superior Courts. Late Justice Teslim Elias was an academic appointed as a judicial officer. There are opinions for and against appointment of members of the academia into judicial offices. Proponents of the appointment believe that academics are suitable to be appointed as judges by virtue of their knowledge. On the other hand, those against such appointment are of the view that the academics lack practical experience in the courtroom. This reason makes them unqualified to be appointed judges. This paper has adopted a socio-legal research approach to understand the perspectives for and against appointing academics as judges. Nine members of the legal profession have been interviewed and majority of them have supported the appointment.

This article examines the efforts of Indonesia's maritime diplomacy, especially in Southeast Asia and ASEAN to realize the World Maritime Axis (WMA) vision. WMA is the “jargon” of the Joko Widodo government to realize Indonesia’s ideals as an advanced, independent, and strong maritime state, and has positive contribution to the world. Through a descriptive-qualitative research approach, to answer the efforts of Indonesian maritime diplomacy, the primary data was collected through a review of the annual reports of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. The secondary data is obtained through various literature related to WMA and Indonesian maritime diplomacy in Southeast Asia and ASEAN. By using Christian Le Miere's conceptualization of maritime diplomacy, this article shows that Indonesia’s maritime diplomacy efforts integrate the soft approach through cooperation and persuasive efforts with a hard approach through coercive action. By the author, this efforts is referred as Smart Maritime Diplomacy.
