The authors ascertain the main features of adaptation of a man to the conditions of the information society. There was applied the whole complex of philosophical, general scientific and specific methods inherent in philosophical research in their interconnection and complementarity. The methodology of the research is based on the principles of systemic and structural-functional analysis. As a result of the study, it was ascertained that a man as the highest social value accumulates and fixes in the main forms of his life the interconnection of material and spiritual, which reflects in an integral form life as the objective reality, where his interconnected interests, moral values, ideals, his culture, religious preference and subjective understanding of the meaning of life are revealed. The spreading of information technology is accompanied by the virtualization of all spheres of human life. The main social problems of adaptation of a person to the changing conditions of the information society that are proposed to consider are as follows: the problem of linguistic communication, which forms the core of informatization, and the problem of information security of an individual. It is substantiated that new paradigms form new perceptions by a person of his/her place in relation to the information environment and, accordingly, a new awareness of oneself and his/her own rights and freedoms. Specificity of the modern information environment leads to the correction of existing natural and social mechanisms of a person’s adaptation and the development of new ones. Information technologies, having become the core of the modern civilization, change not only the quality and content of the life of a modern human, they threaten to transform the very way of his/her existence in the world. The transition to the information society can have unpredictable consequences. Therefore, the problems of formation of information society, the development of adequate to the objective reality methods and means of its life are the collective concern of all mankind.

The problem of the new ontology of the communication in the information society is actualized. Communicational discourse of the modern reality got the semantic network character that penetrates all human life spheres and gives some program to the human activity. The formation of the phenomenon of realities’ communication (virtual and objective) is educed. The new type reality forms some new type of thinking namely network thinking. Network culture by no means replace culture of objective reality but only doubles it, completes, gives the person new liberty. Dual character of communication enlarges peculiarity that appears together with the legitimization of the interest to the individual. This circumstance points out that dialectical idea of the synergies between opposites doesn’t disappear from the today generalizing thought but it has been reconstructing according to new conditions. The main modern trend is striving for individual prominence, to be spotted, to confirm one’s identity. The conclusion is made about the necessity to develop modern methodology of communication reality’s research, because it is impossible to comprehend new reality using traditional methods.

Jacques Ellul's thoughts on the increasingly conspicuous role of persuasion techniques bring to the fore the persuasive and normative effects of new communication techniques at the core of contemporary consumer/citizen culture, as well as the limits of that instrumental stance towards mediated human communication. By drawing insights from authors who shared some of Ellul's concerns, such as Frankfurt School theorists, Vance Packard and Ivan Illich, this paper explores this “normative invasion” of human life by technique as a feature of contemporary information technology politics, specifically in (1) the historical context of normative and material technological colonization, and (2) the intertwining of propaganda and information warfare in the current reshaping of information politics.

The economic aspects of relations between an individual and society as the core of development of information society consisting of two new classes − netocrats and consumers are analyzed. The dual attitude of netocrats to scientists is noted. Different approaches to the problem of «planned obsolescence» of household objects are considered. It is emphasized that consumption stimulated by the aggressive impact of information technologies on people depresses their lives, thus destroying the environment. It is concluded that active online advertising attracts individuals to the rows of the consumer. The control over personal data of the computer can turn into a system of estimates of an individual's loyalty.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the influence of information technologies on human life. The article proves that modern technologies make a person programmed, since getting into a network circulation, he becomes a part of it, which leads to a mixture of real and virtual, real and fictional. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of modern scientific research, which substantiate the process of degradation of human consciousness under the influence of long-term communication with a computer, when a person loses his true essence. It is concluded that the main global problem of the modern information society is the problem of human ecology and his consciousness.
