Appropriate knowledge management will improve nurse performance. There have been numerous studies on nurse performance, but studies on nurse performance of Knowledge management: SECI in Indonesia have not been widely reported and therefore researchers interested in conducting this study. This study aims at identifying the effect of performance in patient safety target based on Knowledge Management: SECI on the quality of nursing services in Jakarta Islamic Hospital of Pondok Kopi. The study employed quasi experimental design of pre and posttest with control group. The respondents were nurses who worked in the inpatient unit with a sample size of 24 respondents in the intervention group and 37 respondents in the control group. The instrument used to measure pre-posttest was patient safety developed by Nasution (2013) with validity value of 0.444-0.772 and reliability of Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.950; and the adverse events developed by the researchers. Intervention protocols in the form of performance in patient safety target based on Knowledge Management: SECI were given through training. The analysis employed statistical tests of Mann Whitney and Wilcoxon. The study found that there was a change in patient safety before and after intervention in the intervention group rather than in the control group. There were differences in the scores of patient safety/quality of nursing care after treatment in the intervention group and the control group. The study recommends regular training for nurses concerning performance in patient safety target based on Knowledge Management: SECI, and further studies in different hospitals.

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) affects various aspects of quality of life (QoL), and self-care is the most important form of primary care and one of the main factors involved in the process of treating chronic diseases and improving the patients’ QoL. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effect of self-care education on the QoL of TB patients. Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 110 TB patients referred to the TB coordinating Center in Zahedan, Southeastern Iran, in 2018, are studied. Participants were selected using convenience sampling and were randomly assigned to the intervention (n = 55) and control (n = 55) groups. Data were collected using the tuberculosis quality of life-version 2 (TBQol-v2). For the intervention group, first, patients and their caregivers were divided into groups compromising of 4 to 6 members, and then three sessions of self-care education, including lectures and questions and answers meetings, each lasted for 30 minutes (in total 90 minutes) were provided to each group. Data were analyzed in SPSS version 21 using descriptive statistical tests, independent t-test, paired t-test, and chi-squared test. Results: Mean of the total QoL score of the two groups before the intervention was 67.56 ± 5.99 and 67.09 ± 5.03, respectively, indicating no significant difference (P = 0.65). But after providing the intervention, the mean score of patients QoL in the intervention group (74.84 ± 4.90) was significantly higher than the control group (67.98 ± 0.68) (P = 0.001). Conclusions: Since self-care education can effectively enhance the QoL of TB patients, it is recommended to provide such educations for both treatment and follow-up of these patients along with directly observed treatment, short-course (DOTS).

Results: The study showed that the improvement in the supervision capability of the headroom clinics increased significantly (p = 0,000) after training and implementation of clinical supervision. Patient satisfaction with therapeutic communication has increased with a value (p = 0,000). Conclusion: Implementation of clinical supervision contributed to patient satisfaction and therapeutic communication of patient nurses by 17.6%, while 82.4% was influenced by other variables (quality of service, hospital products). This study further recommends the implementation of clinical supervision to be one of the models in developing the quality of nursing services.

The purpose of this study was to reduce the level of pain and anxiety during wound care in patients with DM ulcers after being given murrotal therapy in RSUD K.M.T. Wongsonegoro Semarang. The research method with quasi experimental pre-posttest control group. a sample of 17 people in the intervention group and 15 in the control group. Sample selection with total sampling. The murrottal listening intervention group played for 3 times for 15 minutes. Respondents were conducted pre and posttest with NRS pain measuring instruments and DASS anxiety. The results of the Wilcoxon test in the intervention group obtained p = 0,000, there were differences in the level of pain between before and after murotal therapy and p = 0.002 there was a difference in the level of anxiety between before and after murotal therapy. In the control group obtained p = 0.02, there were differences in the level of pain between before and after murotal therapy and the value of p = 1.00, there was no difference in the level of anxiety between before and after given murotal therapy. Conclusion: Murrotal therapy can reduce the level of pain and anxiety during wound care for DM ulcer patients.

Background Immunization is recognized as one of the strategiesto reduce vaccine preventable diseases. Competency related toimmunization are consequently important for medical students andthe medical school needs to assure the competence acquisition. Objective To assess competence related to immunization andits retention following lectures with simulations compared tolectures only. Methods A quasi-experimental study was conducted to the 5th yearstudents of University of Indonesia Medical School during the ChildAdolescent Health Module in 2012-2013. The intervention grouphad lectures with simulations and the control group had lecturesonly. Immunization knowledge was assessed with a 30 multiplechoice question (MCA) items performed before and after themodule. Competence retention was assessed by MCQ (knowledge)and OSCE (skills) 2-6 months afterwards. Results Sixty eight subjects for each group with similarcharacteristics were analyzed. There was significant differenceafter module MCQ score between two groups. Competenceretention in 2-6 months after module completion was betterin intervention group, both for the knowledge (median MCQscore of 70.00 (range 37-93) vs. mean score of 58.01 (SD 12.22),respectively; P<0.001) and skill (OSCE mean scores of 75.21 (SD10.74) vs. 62.62 (SD 11.89), respectively; P < 0.001). Proportionof subjects in the intervention group who passed both the MCQand OSCE were also significantly greater. Conclusion Lectures with simulations are proved to bemore effective in improving medical students’ immunizationcompetence as well as its retention compared to lectures onlyapproach.

The purpose of this study was to determine differences in the level of fatigue in cancer patients between before and after aerobic exercise combined with relaxation techniques of yoga. Methods :  This study used Quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group in patients with breast cancer in the course of chemotherapy. The sampling methods used purposive sampling. The fatigue level was collected by subjective instruments Pipper Fatigue Scale (PFS), and then analyzed by the Independent and Dependent T test, and multivariate analysis used linear regression with a significance value of α 0.05. Results :  There were differences in the level of fatigue post-test between the intervention group and the control group with a difference of 1.25 (p = 0.013). History of previous exercise may explain the 17.8% level of fatigue that occurs in patients with breast cancer in the course of chemotherapy, the rest was explained by other variables.
