Adolescence is a period of storm and stress, because adolescents experience many challenges both from themselves (biopsychosocial factors) and the environment (environmental factors). If adolescents do not have the ability to face these challenges, they can end up with complex health problems as a result of their risky behavior. The establishment of the Youth Posyandu is expected to be a forum to facilitate adolescents in understanding adolescent health problems, find alternative solutions to problems, form youth support groups, expand the reach of the PKPR Health Center, especially for regional youth who have limited access. The purpose of this community service is to provide health education about Adolescent Reproductive Health through the “Pashmina” Youth Posyandu in the New Normal Covid 19 Era. The health education methods carried out are (1) Socialization and Licensing, (2) Affirmation and Pre Test (3) Conducting Health education on Adolescent Reproductive Health. (4) Evaluation of the results of health education activities with Post Test. The results of the activity are expected to increase and understand Adolescent Reproductive Health as indicated by an increase in adolescent reproductive health from the results of the Pre Test (before Health Education) and Post Test Results (after health education).

Abstract Background Almost one-third of children under 5 years old in Indonesia suffer from stunting. Stunting can be prevented optimally during pregnancy as the initial phase of the first 1000 days of life. This study aims to determine the effect of nutrition and reproductive health education of pregnant women in Bogor Regency, Indonesia. Methods A quasi-experimental study was conducted among 194 pregnant women from August to November 2019. The pregnant women were randomly selected from four different villages in Bogor Regency. The intervention group (n = 97) received 2 h of nutrition and reproductive health education in small groups (four or five mothers per group) every 2 weeks for 3 consecutive months. This interactive education was given by facilitators using techniques such as lectures, role-playing, simulation, and games. The control group (n = 97) received regular health care services. A structured questionnaire was applied to collect data consisting of maternal characteristics, nutritional and reproductive health knowledge, attitudes, and practices in the intervention and control groups. Data were analysed using t-test and chi-square analysis. Results Pregnant women in the intervention group indicated a significant increase in knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding nutrition and reproductive health after receiving education. The pre-test and post-test mean scores in the intervention group were 55.1 and 83.1 for overall knowledge, 40.2 and 49.0 for attitudes, and 36.2 and 40.2 for practices, respectively. In the control group, there was no significant difference between the pre-test and post-test mean scores for these three variables. There was a significant difference (P < 0.001) in the post-test mean between the intervention group and the control group, but the difference was not significant (P > 0.05) in the pre-test. Conclusion Providing nutrition and reproductive health education through small groups with interactive methods improves the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of pregnant women. This intervention has the potential to be replicated and developed for large-scale implementation by optimising collaboration between government, non-governmental organizations, and maternal and child health service providers.

Kulon Progo is the first area to have a local content of Reproductive Health Education in the curriculum, that is, since 2014. This was motivated by the high rate of underage marriage and the high level of maternal mortality ratio in the Special Region of Yogyakarta at that time. The Regent of Kulon Progo who served during that period, Hasto Wardoyo, was the party who initiated and directly led this policy-making process. This study seeks to analyze the form of political commitment from Hasto Wardoyo in the policy on Public Health Education by using Boli’s theory of political will criteria, in which political commitment is broadly divided into three groups, namely verbal will, institutional will, and budgetary will. Researchers used qualitative research methods supported by interview data with parties directly involved in the process of making and implementing policies, including the Chair of the Indonesia Union of Teachers, the Chair of the Indonesia Association of Family Planning, the Head of the Education Office, and the Head of the Health Office in the regency. The results of this study indicate that the Regent has shown his political commitment in the sense of verbal and regulation dimensions. However, in terms of institutional and budgetary will, the Regent did not show any form of political commitment, which resulted in the neglect of this policy on Reproductive Health Education after it had been launched.   Received: 20 May 2021 / Accepted: 10 July 2021 / Published: 5 November 2021

Adolescent period is a critical period that requires quality health services. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of health education through booklet media on the knowledge and attitude towards reproductive health among adolescents. This was a quasi-experimental case control study with nonequivalent two group design conducted on 282 students of SMP Negeri 37, a public junior high school, in the work area of Ibrahim Adjie Public Health Center in Bandung city during December 2018–May 2019. Subjects were divided into two groups, intervention and control groups, with 141 subjects in each group. Data collected were tested for normality and homogeneity using Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Levene tests, respectively, followed by a bivariate analysis using Wilcoxon test to determine the difference. Knowledge of all students in both groups was poor during pre-test with an increase found in 135 subjects (95.7%) in the intervention group (p=0.001) and 63 subjects (44.7%) in the control group (p=0.003) based on the post-test results. Negative attitude was also seen in both groups during pre-test, with a shift towards positive attitude was evident in 134 students (95.0%) in the intervention group (p=0.001) and 117 students (83.0%) in the control group (p=0.002) based on post-test results. This presence that health information conveyed through booklet has a probability of giving 0.995 times stronger influence leaflet. Thus, the use of booklet can improve knowledge and attitude towards adolescent reproductive health. PENGARUH BOOKLET MEDIA PROMOSI KESEHATAN REPRODUKSI REMAJA TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP REMAJA YANG BERTEMPAT TINGGAL DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS IBRAHIM ADJIE TAHUN 2018Masa remaja merupakan masa kritis yang membutuhkan pelayanan kesehatan yang berkualitas. Purpose Digital technology has great potential for educating today’s digitally oriented adolescents on health. In particular, digital health gamified learning can make the promotion of the sexual well-being of adolescents more effective. Although venereal diseases such as HIV/AIDS have become a greater problem in Sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries than in any country outside of Africa, little is publicly known about the development of gamified learning for use in counter-measures. This paper aims to address that deficit by presenting the process of developing one such game. The paper highlights how the “My Future Begins Today” game for sexual health education was developed, evaluated and refined in the real-world of low-tech settings and made improvements based on the response of users. Design/methodology/approach Design-based research (DBR) was used to guide the design, develop, test and refine the digital game in iterative cycles. The evaluation of the effectiveness of iterations of the game was done using adolescent sexual health literacy tests and the validated Motivation, Attitude, Knowledge and Engagement framework, the authors developed based on existing approaches. That framework combines the elements of motivation, attitude, knowledge and engagement, effectiveness was evaluated based on the game’s ability to motivate students, improve their attitudes, increase their acquisition of knowledge and engage them in learning self-rating surveys and interviews. The whole process of game design, testing, evaluation and refinement were underpinned by the activity theory, DBR and participatory design (PD) research. Findings Participants in the gamified learning platforms demonstrated higher average scores on their post-tests than their counterparts subjected to the traditional teaching classroom. Also, gamified learning groups commented positively on the effectiveness of their instructional approach than their counterparts in the traditional learning group. The stakeholders’ involvement in developing gamified learning provided a good understanding of the importance of the game to the adolescent students and how it was going to be used to address the problem identified. The application of PD contributed to the effectiveness of the game. It involved various actors from various fields who were relevant to the game. Also, engaging targeted users from the beginning resulted in the creation of a better correspondence with the preferences of end-users. Practical implications This study has contributed to a better understanding of sex education and knowledge in the area of adolescent reproductive health issues, using developed innovative game mechanics features and its applicability in low-tech settings. Originality/value The study will be a recommendation for future researchers in applying this gamified learning concept and its suitability in their teaching practice, particularly regarding sexual health education and adolescent reproductive health issues in low-tech settings of SSA.
