Background: Eating behavior is one of the factors that affect the nutritional status of adolescents. Adolescents are at risk of experiencing malnutrition, overnutrition, and micronutrient deficiencies. This study aims to describe adolescents' eating behavior and nutritional status at SMA Negeri 9 Pauh District. Method: The study was conducted at SMAN 9 Pauh District, Padang City. The population of this study was all students of SMAN 9 with a sample of 52 people who were selected using a simple random sampling method. The variables in this study were eating knowledge, eating attitudes, and body image, which was collected using a questionnaire and the act of eating variables using the SQ-FFQ. Determination of nutritional status is obtained from BMI/U. Result: A small proportion of adolescents experience overnutrition (25.0%), most of the knowledge of eating balanced nutrition for adolescents is low (82.7%), most of the attitudes of eating balanced nutrition for adolescents are positive (59.6%), most of the actions of eating nutrition-balanced adolescent is unbalanced (90.4%), most of the adolescent body image is positive (86.5%). Conclusion: A small proportion of adolescents experience overnutrition. Most of them have low knowledge of balanced nutrition, positive eating attitudes, unbalanced eating actions, and have a positive adolescent body image. For schools, it is necessary to cooperate with health workers in conducting health promotions regarding balanced nutrition guidelines, especially on the vegetable and fruit menu and body image. Fred Victor is an organization that supports those experiencing poverty and homelessness in Toronto. As a practicum student in the Health Promotions department at Fred Victor, I gained experience working on health promotion projects and was able to work directly with the community. Throughout the practicum, I worked on several projects to adapt Fred Victor’s services during COVID-19. First, I worked to develop a resilience toolkit for Fred Victor staff. COVID-19 has led to higher levels of stress. This prompted Fred Victor to develop tools to support their staff. I designed a toolkit that instructs managers on how to promote resilience in their supervision sessions and team meetings. This toolkit provided information on what resilience is, as well as practical actions that managers can take to promote resilience in staff. This project involved knowledge translation to convey the research on resilience to Fred Victor staff in an accessible way. Additionally, I worked to support the development of online peer support groups. Typically, Fred Victor runs weekly in-person peer support groups for community members. However, due to COVID-19, these groups had to move to an online format. I helped facilitate this transition by developing a guide for facilitating online group programming. This guide included information on the best platforms to run online programming, how to create a safety agreement, and best practices for facilitating the group. I then conducted outreach to community members to ask for their input on the format and content of the groups. These projects are important to public health as they work to meet the public health goal to improve quality of life by promoting and encouraging healthy behaviours. These projects played an important role in promoting the health of Fred Victor staff and clients during COVID-19 by providing them with support and tools to manage their mental health.

“If we are to have more evidence-based practice, we need more practice-based evidence.” This quote has become something of a mantra for the health promotions profession’s most pre-eminent scholar, Dr. Lawrence W. Green. This editorial features an interview with Dr. Green and previews the forthcoming 5th edition of Green and Kreuter’s seminal health promotion planning textbook. The new title will be Health Program Planning, Implementation and Evaluation: Creating Behavioral, Environmental and Policy Change, with the Johns Hopkins University Press as the new publisher. Co-Editors for this new edition are Larry Green, Andrea Gielen, Judith Ottoson Darleen Peterson, and Marshall Kreuter. This edition shows the vital progression from planning and implementation to evaluation and has further refined and simplified the visual representation of the planning model. The “enabling factors” that will spawn more practice based evidence are discussed. To enable practice-based research will mean that end users of a service or intervention must be taught to be leaders and advocates for approaches that are responsive to their needs, preferences and values.

BACKGROUND The unrelenting pandemic of the SARS CoV2 (COVID-19) pleads for re-examining predictors of infection and containment measures, once again. AIMS The researchers aim to investigate the prevalence of COVID-19 in Jizan region to analyse the demographic details of the population, to examine the quarantine predictors and the prescription of zinc and azithromycin. METHODS The researcher reviewed the Jizan region data obtained from the Ministry of Health of Saudi  Arabia and performed a cross-sectional study from September 1st, 2020 - September 29th, 2020. The researchers surveyed people from the same region to collect and analyse demographic and quarantine data. RESULTS The total number of positive cases was 11,752 patients in the  Jizan region since the start of the pandemic. The prevalence of infection is 0.84% with a mortality rate of 1.73% (n=257). Out of 328 participants, 46.4% (n=148) acquired the infection with an admission rate of 1.6% (n=5). We noted two predictors for infection in the region: female gender and being married. Furthermore, males were more likely to be admitted than females and irrespective of age and chronic diseases. The quarantine after contact with a probable case or after travel showed an inverse relationship with the age; and in particular young females stratum, p <0.05. One third received zinc supplementation, whereas the majority 82.4% was not pre- scribed azithromycin. CONCLUSION Overall, the researchers provide a region-specific analysis that uncovers important infection determinants for COVID-19 infection, which should be taken into consideration when designing and implementing health promotions programs.

Despite the widespread availability of automated external defibrillators, not everyone is enthusiastic about using them. The aim of this study was to examine the reasons for not using an automated external defibrillator (AED) and predictors of the reasons. The study had a cross-sectional design using an online survey. Data were collected in eighteen districts in Hong Kong to be representative of the city. The questionnaire consisted of questions on demographics, knowledge and attitude towards AED use, reasons for not using AED, and whether the kind of victim could affect the decision of the bystanders. There was a high significant correlation between knowledge and attitude, with r = 0.782 and p < 0.001. Of the respondents, 53.3% agreed that the kind of victim would affect their willingness to operate an AED. A binary logistic regression model revealed that a higher education (OR 6.242, 95% CI: 1.827–21.331), concern about the kind of victim involved (OR 2.822, 95% CI: 1.316–6.052), and a younger age were significant predictors of worrying about taking on responsibility in using AED. Other than knowledge, other barriers included a desire to avoid legal liability, and the kind of victim they encountered. Life experiences in adulthood could possibly affect the social responsibility and influence the behaviors of adults to operate AEDs.
