Patients diagnosed with cancer spend a lot of energy dealing with diagnosis, therapy, and feelings of instability due to possible relapses, death, complications, and financial problems. They often reach the point where they feel that they are very uncertain, very uncertain position, hopeless. Cancer causes loss of hope, affects physical and mental, and results in various disorders such as loneliness, depression, and failure to adapt—the importance of fulfilling the spiritual needs of cancer patients to improve the optimal quality of life. Fulfilling spiritual needs is finding meaning, purpose, the need for hope, belief in life, oneself, and God. Individuals are said to have good spirituality if the individual has full expectations, are optimistic, and think positively. The research design used a cross-sectional approach, the sampling technique was purposive sampling, and the data analysis was tested using the Spearman Rank with a total sample size of 35 respondents. The results obtained by sig. (2-tailed) with a p-value of 0.000 with a degree of significance p ≤ 0.05, which means H1 is accepted. This study shows a relationship between spiritual fulfillment and quality of life for cancer patients. The study results can be used as an intervention in nursing care to improve the quality of nursing services, especially for cancer patients. The better the spiritual needs of cancer patients can be met, the better the quality of life will be about complex matters such as physical health, psychological conditions, level of independence, social relationships, and the individual's relationship with their environment.

Introduction: In these days, one of the terrifying cancers for women throughout the world is breast cancer. The treatment of cancer should be holistic. Patients need family support to create a good quality of life. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and quality of life in breast cancer patients at the Chemotherapy Unit of Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital Samarinda. Methods: Quantitative research with analytical study and cross-sectional design. Sampling was done with a total sample of 76 respondents. The instruments used in this research were family support standards and the Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) for quality of life. The data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Results: The p-value was 0.003, OR = 4.090, indicating that there was a relationship between family support and quality of life in breast cancer patients. Conclusion: There is a relationship between family support and quality of life in breast cancer patients. It is expected that the hospital can proceed in providing health education and motivation to breast cancer patients and their families related to the importance of family support for the quality of life of breast cancer patients. THE ROLE OF MENTAL HEALTH CADRES IN THE HANDLING OF MENTAL PATIENTS ABSTRACTPatients with cancer have a very significant increase including breast cancer that causes death. Breast cancer affects the greatest impact on the sufferer, thus affecting the quality of life. Decreased quality of life that is not resolved will inhibit treatment that will cause death. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between coping mechanism with quality of life in breast cancer patients. This research design is descriptive correlational with cross sectional approach. The population of this study was breast cancer patients with a sample of 55 respondents using accidental sampling technique and data collection tool using Cancer Coping Questionnaire 21 and WHOQoL-BREF. Data analysis used chi square test. The results showed that the mechanism of coping cancer patients 65.5% adaptive category, quality of life of breast cancer patients bad category 52,7%. There is a relationship of coping mechanism with quality of life in breast cancer patients who underwent chemotherapy with p value 0,048 (α = 0,05). Should the hospital facilitate interaction activities with fellow breast cancer patients in order to share experiences about improving the quality of life. Keywords: Mechanism of Coping, Quality of Life, Breast Cancer Patients

Background: Self efficacy can optimize the quality of life of clients who undergo the healing process due to chronic diseases. Individuals with higher self-efficacy move their personal and social resources proactively to maintain and improve the quality and length of their lives so that they experience a better quality of life. Objectives: the purpose of this study was to find the correlation between self efficacy and quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease who undergo hemodialysis at RSUD Semarang Regency. Metode: This type of research was descriptive correlation with cross sectional approach. The samples in this study more 76 people with total sampling technique. The data collection tool for self efficacy was measured by General Self-Efficacy scale, for quality of life with WHOQoL-BREF. Statistical test used Kolmogorov-smirnov. Result: The result showed that self efficacy in patients with chronic kidney disease was mostly in moderate category (53,9%), quality of life in patients with chronic kidney disease was mostly in good category (68,4%). There was a correlation between self efficacy and quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease who undergo hemodialysis at RSUD Semarang Regency, the result obtained p-value of 0.000 <α (0,05). Suggestion: Patients with chronic kidney disease can maintain good quality of life by helping to generate positive self-esteem and high self efficacy.

Cancer is one of the causes of death in both developed and developing countries, cancer is increasing in developing countries due to increasing lifestyle, breast cancer is a cancer that causes death in women in the world, breast cancer is the highest contributor to mortality in women in the world, 43.3 per 100,000. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of family support to the quality of life of breast cancer patients. The research design used was observational analytic with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique, the study sample amounted to 63 breast cancer patients. The results show that there is a relationship between family support and the quality of life of breast cancer patients with a p value of 0.032. shows there is a relationship between family support for the quality of life of patients with breast cancer. Suggestions that nurses can improve the quality of nursing services, and provide motivation to patients and families of breast cancer in carrying out breast cancer treatment.

The transition of elderly lives from productive periods to non-productive makes them need support from relatives, friends or family. The purpose of this study was to look at the relationship between family appreciation support with quality and life satisfaction of the elderly in the city of Depok, West Java, with a cross-sectional design. The subjects of this study were 135 elderly people> 60 years old, living with family, do not have infectious diseases, able to communicate in Indonesian; selected by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using Chi square test. The results of the study indicate that there was a relationship between family appreciation support with the quality of life of the elderly (p-value = 0.022) and life satisfaction of the elderly (p-value = 0.014). The results of this study are expected to support the development of nursing science in the future, especially regarding the quality and satisfaction of life of the elderly. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan antara dukungan penghargaan keluarga dengan kualitas dan kepuasan hidup lansia di Kota Depok, Jawa Barat, dengan desain cross-sectional. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 135 lansia yang berusia >60 tahun, tinggal bersama keluarga, tidak memiliki penyakit menular, mampu berkomunikasi dengan bahasa Indonesia; yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi square. Hasil peneltian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara dukungan penghargaan keluarga dengan kualitas hidup lansia (p-value = 0,022) dan kepuasan hidup lansia (p-value = 0,014). Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mendukung perkembangan ilmu keperawatan di masa mendatang, khususnya tentang kualitas dan kepuasan hidup lansia. Background: The global scenario shows an increase trend of ostomy surgery. And, quality of life of ostomy patients has become a common concern. Understandings of factors that can have an impact on QoL should be assessed which will provide a guideline for improving QoL of ostomy patients. Aim: The aim of the study are to assess quality of life of ostomy patients and to find out the association between quality of life with selected demographic variables. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted to assess quality of life of ostomy patient. Ninety-four patients were selected by purposive sampling technique. COH-QOL-Ostomy questionnaire tool was used for data collection. Data were collected from descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis. The P value was estimated at 95% confidence interval with 5% permissible error. Results: The study demonstrated that mean age of respondents was 51.10 ± 16.14 years. Permanent colostomy was common. The mean score for overall QoL was 6.50 ± 1.69. The physical domain (7.14 ± 2.32) had the highest score and spiritual (5.87 ± 1.56) had lowest. The major problems related to ostomy bag were leakage (68.90%), followed by itching around the stoma (52.70%), redness (32.40%), burning sensation (16.2%) and rashes (16.2%) respectively. Age, education, residence, occupation, duration of ostomy, reason and kind of ostomy, isolation of self from social gatherings and change in clothing style had significant effects on quality of life ( P < 0.05). Conclusion: The findings revealed that presence of ostomy influences QoL of ostomy patients. Hence, adequate stoma care services, health education and counseling are important for having a positive impact on patients living with ostomy.

Background: The need of supportive care is a care to be given in order to enhance the life quality of the patients with a serious life-threatening disease such as breast cancer. Generally, the patients are really worried and have severe anxiety related to their disease. The quality of life becomes really important in curing the breast cancer. The life quality is the ability to have normal life in accordance with the individual perception about the objective and hope of the breast cancer patients. Method: Thisis anobservationalresearchwithcross-sectionalstudydesign.Thestudywasconducted in 2019 and required as many as 40 respondents. The samples were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The data were gathered by questionnaire then processed by SPSS and analyzed by statistical test of Chi-square with the significance degree of 95% (α=0,05). Result: The result showed that there was significant correlation between the need of supportive care (p<0,000) and the life quality of the breast cancer patients. Conclusion: There was association of the supportive careandthelifequalityofthebreastcancerpatientswiththevalueofp=0,000<α0.05.

Quality of life is a significant part of patient care among cancer patients. Toxicities and adverse impacts of chemotherapy influence personal satisfaction in disease patients, and it likewise makes challenges in satisfying family and social jobs. Hence the study aimed to assess the quality of life of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Cross-sectional research design was employed with 50 samples which matched the inclusion criteria were selected by convenience sampling technique. Demographic variables data were collected by using a structured questionnaire followed by assessing the quality of life by using the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire. The findings of the study revealed the highest median value in the cognitive functioning, social functioning, role functioning and also in physical functioning compared symptom scale and in which the lowest score in the symptoms of nausea & vomiting, loss of craving, fatigue, diarrhea and constipation and face many challenges related to finance. Based on findings, further studies can be conducted to correlate the quality of life with clinical assessment and focus on the mind-body exercise such as yoga, meditation and physical therapy like exercise, massage to enhance the quality of life and to complete the entire cycle of chemotherapy.

Objectives: to determine the relationship between depression and quality of life in ovarian cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy in RSUDZA Banda Aceh.Materials and Methods: This study was an analytical observa-tional study with cross-sectional design approach. The samples were taken by using accidental sampling with total of respondents are 30 patients. Depression level was assessed by using the BDI-II questionnaire  and quality of life was assessed by using the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire.  Then, data were analyzed by using Spearman’s Correlation test.Results: The most of the cases were no depression (53,3%), and good quality of life (56,7%). The lowest cases were patients with severe depression (6,7%), and poor quality of life (16,7%). The results of data analysis obtained p value=0.000 (p≤0,05). Conclusion: there is a significant relationship between depression and quality of life in ovarian cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy in RSUDZA Banda Aceh.

Gay, Transgender dan Men Who Have Seks With Men are individuals who are prone to problem both in health and in the environment such as education and work that will disrupt their lives and will have an impact on their quality of life. The study aim to know the relationship between education and occupation with the quality of life to the Gay, Transgender and MSM in Bandar Lampung 2019. The research using analytic survey with cross-sectional approach. The type of data obtained is primary data. The method of collecting data is by distributing questionnaires WHOQOL-BREF whose results will be categorized. This research was conducted from September to November 2019. In this research, the samples taken included all member of Gaya Lentera Muda organization with a total of 35 people, taken with total sampling technique. The report for quality of gay, transgender and MSM in Bandar Lampung who has middle education mostly have mild quality of life of 12 subjects (63,2%) and the subjects who have occupation mostly have mild quality of life of 12 subject (66,7%). The final results showed that there is a meaningful relationship between education and occupation with quality of life to gay, transgender and MSM in Bandar Lampung 2019 (p-value = 0,003 dan p-value = 0,414). The higher the level of education and the person has a working status, the higher the quality of life.
