It is shown that the cost of permits in sanatorium and boarding houses of these resorts is highly dependent on the period of the year. At the resorts the most expensive trips are found in the summer and winter. They are especially expensive during New Year’s and Christmas holidays, when there is the largest flow of tourists. The cheapest trips are in the fall and from the middle of January to the beginning of April. When selecting between Morshyn and Truskavets, visitors pay attention to the specialization of resorts, estimate the cost of living, assess additional facilities, which include entertainment, medical and SPA procedures, etc. Transport accessibility of the sanatoriums, hotels or villas is an important issue, which is often emphasized during the decision making by tourists as well as the possibility of obtaining complete information about the entire assortment of services provided in the resorts. Pluvial flooding in Badalona (Spain) occurs during high rainfall intensity events, which in the future could be more frequent according to the latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In this context, the present study aims at quantifying the potential impacts of climate change for the city of Badalona. A comprehensive pluvial flood multi risk assessment has been carried out for the entire municipality. The assessment has a twofold target: People safety, based on both pedestrians’ and vehicles’ stability, and impacts on the economic sector in terms of direct damages on properties and vehicles, and indirect damages due to businesses interruption. Risks and damages have also been assessed for the projected future rainfall conditions which enabled the comparison with the current ones, thereby estimating their potential increment. Moreover, the obtained results should be the first step to assess the efficiency of adaptation measures. The novelty of this paper is the integration of a detailed 1D/2D urban drainage model with multiple risk criteria. Although, the proposed methodology was tested for the case study of Badalona (Spain), it can be considered generally applicable to other urban areas affected by pluvial flooding.

Mauritius, a small island developing state (SIDS), has an approved government-issued smart city framework geared at facilitating the development of smart cities through an application of Internet of things. In an attempt to move away from privately-operated urban developments in the form of newly built smart cities, an alternate framework has been proposed by Allam and Newman to redefine this timely concept for existing cities with the main dimensions being metabolism, culture, and governance. This new framework focuses on liveability and sustainability that builds on the cultural and historical dimensions of existing cities. This study adds to the redefined smart city paradigm by proposing a new pillar in the form of smart tourism for the city of Port Louis, Mauritius. This paper reviews models of smart tourism and explores how this can be grafted to the Allam and Newman’s smart city model. The findings of this study seek to inform policy makers on alternate and the more relevant economic potential of smart tourism for the city of Port Louis.

The article deals with the evolution of the environmental consciousness of the population of a megapolis in the conditions of the development of the postindustrial epoch of town planning, when such concepts as “the att ractiveness of the city, the prestige of the address of residence, the ecological background, the level of improvement” become indicators of the level of its development. The search for regularities in the development of the spatial-functional environment of the megapolis is actualized depending on the specifi city and level of the environmental consciousness and behavior of the townspeople. In this article, I share and reflect on a research-creation video that introduces what I call 'disability as method' to critical disability and media studies. The video draws on a year-long visual ethnography, during which I collaborated with a blind and a physically disabled participant to explore the specificities of their mobility experiences in the city of Montreal. In making this video, I use the affordances of filming and editing in creative ways both to explore what access could mean to differently disabled people in the space of the city and to reimagine new possibilities of media-making informed by blindness gain. To this end, I introduce a new audio description (AD) technique by using stop-time as crip-time, and deploying AD not only as an accessibility feature but also as a blind intervention in the creative process of filmmaking itself.

MATURITY ON STAGE: EXPERIENCES WITH THE DANCE SPECTACLE JUST WOMEN IN THE BAILAR PROJECT Abstract: This paper reflects on the construction of the dance spectacle Apenas Mulher (Just Women), presented by the Baila Cassino Dance Group, in the city of Rio Grande, RS, Brazil, for the extension project Bailar: Center for Dance in Maturity, a project associated with the Licentiate Course in Dance Education at the Federal University of Pelotas/UFPel. Also discussed are the approaches used to organize and set up the dance presentation, involving reports and studies carried out by professors and the project’s grant students, revealing their contributions and the collective construction of experiences acquired during the formal education of students obtaining licentiate qualification in Dance.
