Negative climate change processes on our planet, along with rapid development of macroeconomics, stipulate the necessity of the energy sector transformation. Constant increase in energy consumption due to the growing needs of industry and population, including electric lighting, which according to OECD and IEA is going to increase by 80 % by 2050, accentuates the need to address issues related to energy conservation and energy efficiency on a global scale. At the same time, steady economic growth of any state is closely related to the availability of sufficient electricity volume. Given the current trends in the development of digital economy, which depends entirely on reliable and efficient electricity supply, the transition to lowcarbohydrate power systems is a matter of concern for the vast majority of countries interested, on the one hand, in a favourable environment, and on the other hand, in stable and sustained economic growth. The given study is devoted to the interrelationship between improving energy efficiency and solving environmental problems, which, under the national idea of developing digital economy and joining the Paris Agreement on climate, is extremely relevant for Russia.

The rapid development of innovations in the industry 4.0 era led to new or evolved companies. At the same time, the accepted concept of carbon-free development requires building a new philosophy for the company’s management. The paper aims to analyse the key attributes of teal organisations (as a new type of a company) from the energy sector (as a core sector for carbon-free transformation). The paper summarises the core features of teal organisations and their attributes. In the paper, three hypotheses are tested: innovations and technologies are the most used attributes among teal organisations from the energy sector; organisational and corporate culture are the least used attributes among teal organisations from the energy sector; in the energy sector, the companies that have the attributes of teal organisations primarily work in countries with a high level of innovation and information technologies (as a core indicator of Industry 4.0) and economic development. For testing the hypotheses, the following methods are applied: a Friedman test, a paired-samples t-test, the principal components analysis, a correlation analysis, an ANOVA test (analysis of variance), and a regression analysis. The online survey generates the data for analysis. The object of the research is the workers from the energy sector companies from five countries (Poland, Ukraine, Georgia, Slovakia, and Romania). The findings of the statistical analysis confirm the first and second hypotheses. Companies in the energy sector mostly use innovations and technologies as the attributes of teal organisations. The regression analysis results show that an increase of 1% of patent applications leads to an increased energy efficiency of 1.29%. Additionally, the implemented features of teal organisations in the energy sector allow for improving the country’s energy efficiency, which, as a consequence, then boosts carbon-free development.

Energy is an important factor for socio-economic development of any country. Economic development in developed and developing countries is impossible without energy. Various studies have shown that important energy issues are seriously taken into account in different countries in current circumstances including providing enough energy to meet human needs, attaining a minimum economic growth, solving regional environmental problems, increasing energy efficiency and supply of needed capital for investment in the energy sector. Energy management program has been implemented in different countries since early 1970s. This program consists of macro policies in the energy sector to reduce organizing energy demand, development of proper organizations, legislation of necessary laws and regulations and implementation of management programs.

In the past decades, China has embraced a rapid development in its economy. And the sci-tech innovation has also gained unprecedented prosperity during the period. The progress in sci-tech innovation has boosted larger output in multiple industries of China, and thus having great contributions to the dramatic improvement in China’s economy. The studies on the relationship between sci-tech innovation and economic growth has long been existed, however, most of which only focus on the one-way research, namely the effects of sci-tech innovation on the economic growth. Based on this status quo, this paper innovates from the research method to focus on the interactive relationship between sci-tech innovation and economic growth, establishing a VAR model to analyze their immediate structural relationship and long-term dynamic relationship, and finds out that the effects of sci-tech innovation on economic growth are immediate positive, while those on sci-tech innovation achievements appear in the long run. In the last part, this paper puts forward policy suggestions on the maximization of sci-tech innovation and economic growth based on the results.

Digital transformation in the energy sector is an essential tool for promoting the construction of a clean energy system in the post-COVID-19 era. Under the background of digital China strategy and sustainable energy transformation in the post-COVID-19 era, it is meaningful to investigate the relationship between the digital economy and green total factor energy efficiency (GTFEE) to better drive the development of the digital economy and improve GTFEE. For this purpose, this study estimates deeply the impact of the digital economy on GTFEE by applying ordinary least squares (OLS), panel vector autoregression (PVAR), panel threshold, and mediation effect models based on panel data of 30 Chinese provinces from 2006 to 2018. The statistical results indicate that digital economy is conducive to improving GTFEE. Digital economy can significantly contribute to GTFEE by improving economic growth level, urbanization level, R&D investment, and human capital. The most interesting finding was that there is also a non-linear relationship between digital economy and GTFEE. The effect of digital economy on GTFEE is shown to be first promoted and then inhibited as digital economy level continues to increase. Further, the positive impact of the digital economy on GTFEE is strengthened with increasing levels of economic growth, urbanization, R&D input, and human capital. Finally, A positive correlation was found between digital economy and GTFEE in the eastern and central regions, but insignificantly in other regions.

Abstract Pesantren are often associated with backwardness and traditionalism in everything: facilities, technology, learning methods, and even the curriculum. For now, it seems like the traditional term for pesantren is no longer relevant enough. The pace of movement in the era of renewal marked by the rapid development of technology has demanded pesantren to make adjustments. However, on the one hand, when viewed from the direction of change, the reform efforts pursued by pesantren are not to erase the old tradition, but merely to add something new so that the old tradition and conditions can be maintained while accepting the presence of a new one. On the other hand, the reform efforts undertaken by pesantren have implications for the fact that the typical values of the pesantren are fading away.

UDC 336.74   Vasylenko Artur, post-graduate student. Mariupol State University. Cryptocurrency Phenomenon in the International Monetary System. The main prerequisites of cryptocurrency emergence in the international monetary system in terms of regionalization of the world economy are defined in the article. Determination of «cryptocurrency» category was analysed from the point of two main approaches to its treatment: on the one hand cryptocurrency is admitted to be the currency equally to the sovereign currency, and on the other hand it is considered as an unrecognized virtual asset. The main consequences which arise in case of widespread use of crypto currency for the country and for the parties that agreed to use cryptocurrency were analysed and systematized. On the basis of the research, given the current trends in the world economy, the author put forward and substantiated the hypothesis to classify the phenomenon of cryptocurrency as the effects of a famous philosophical «Negation of negation law» formulated by G. Hegel at the beginning of the XIX century.   Keywords: cryptocurrency, material money, electronic money, digital currency, regional currency integration, blockchain, mining, capitalization, «Negation of negation law».
