Students' communication skills need to be described because they are used as communication tools in solving problems given. This study aims to find out and analyze students' mathematical communication skills and their obstacles to the topic of two-variable linear equation systems. This type of research is descriptive research. The research subjects consisted of 6 students divided in high, medium and low-ability students who were selected from 20 students, class VIII students of Riau Global IT Middle School Pekanbaru in 2018/2019. The method used is tests and interviews. The results obtained by the overall achievement were 70% of the achievement of indicators expressing mathematical ideas by speaking, writing, showing, and describing them visually, 66.7% for indicators of understanding, interpreting, and evaluating mathematical ideas presented in the form written, oral, or visual and 40% for the achievement of indicators using vocabulary, notation, and mathematical structures to represent ideas, describe relationships, and model situations. Whereas the obstacles to mathematical communication skills found are the ability of prerequisites that are not fulfilled, low reading and writing skills and low mathematical understanding of students.

Kata Kunci: komunikasi matematis, Soal PISA, space and shape Abstract Mathematical communication is one of the important things in solving problems on the PISA study. Mathematical communication is the ability to express mathematical ideas coherently to friends, teachers, and others through spoken and written language accompanied by explanations and justifications. Because of the importance of communication skills possessed by students, then the idea arises to analyze the level of mathematical communication skills of students in solving PISA questions of space and shape content. The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical communication skills of students in solving PISA questions on space and shape content. This research uses a qualitative approach, with descriptive research type. The results of this study indicate that 1) students with high mathematical abilities have excellent mathematical communication skills with almost all the indicators; 2) students who have mathematical abilities are having good mathematical communication by meeting the indicators so that they can explain a problem well. Keyword: Mathematical communication, PISA question, space and shape

This study aims to analyze the written mathematical communication skills through the lence of cognitive style of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Praya Barat Daya in the academic year 2020/2021. With the subjects of research used is 4 students of class VIII A which is taken were in the form of GEFT test results . This study is a descriptive study. The instrument used is test GEFT and written mathematical communication skills test. The findings of the study showed that (a) Students with field-independent cognitivestyle depictedproper written mathematical communication skill. Students at this level were able to state ideas or mathematical solutions in their own language clearly and precisely, they also were able to state problems in the form of pictures, and were able to write down mathematical ideas and explanations correctly but were still not optimal. (b) Students with a field-dependent cognitive style had good mathematical communication ability. Students at this level were able to state ideas or mathematical solutions in their own language properlyyet are still incomplete, they were still not optimal in addressing problems in the form of images, and lastly, they werealso able to write mathematical ideas and explanations clearly and accurately.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS WRITTEN PARTICIPANTS EDUCATE ON CIRCLE MATERIAL. This study aims to describe the ability of written mathematical communication in solving story problems on circle material. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach to the type of descriptive research. The study was conducted in class VIIA SMP PGRI 6 Malang, with a total of 28 students. Data collection techniques used were tests and interviews. Data analysis was performed based on test results and interviews referring to the criteria of mathematical communication skills using 6 levels of written communication skills in solving story problems. The results showed that the level of written communication skills of students in class VIII A on the material circle was in the low category, this is evident from the percentage of each level that is there for level 0 and for level 1. In the medium category there is for level 2 and for level 3. In the high category there are for level 4 and for level 5. Then the three biggest percentages of each category are taken, among others for the low category at level 0, the medium category at level 2 and the high category at level 4.
