Dealing with increasing level of workforce diversity that is within modern employee management of diversity has been progressively a matter of interest to many organization’s management programs that are adopted steadily. The purpose of the study was to establish the effects of cultural diversity on team performance. The study was guided by social identity theory and symbolic interactionist theory. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The research targeted 373 respondents comprising of top managers, middle level managers and other employees from Moi teaching and referral hospital Eldoret. For the purpose of getting a representative sample, the researcher used a purposive sampling method to sample top and middle level managers and simple random technique to sample other employees. Questionnaires were used as data collection instruments. A Cronbach’s alpha was used to assess the reliability coefficient of the research instruments. The instruments were pre-tested to improve its validity and relevance to the objectives of the study. The questionnaires were scrutinized for errors and omissions, ambiguity, legibility and relevance. The data was analysed using regression model and presented in tables and charts. The findings of this study indicated that the study variable cultural diversity (p=0.000) had a significant relationship with team performance. Based on the finding of this study, it is recommended that Moi teaching and referral hospital Eldoret to achieve a high level of efficiency and effective in service provision, the management in the company must ensure that adoption of diverse workforce strategies. The study suggests that further research be done on the same field but in other sectors or organizations also further research should focus on other aspects of workforce diversity.

The topic of cultural diversity in hospitality firms has been somewhat neglected in the abundant research on cultural diversity in organizations. To overcome the gap, the purpose of the research was to examine the antecedents and outcomes of employing a culturally diverse workforce in hotels. Results from semistructured interviews showed there are four antecedents for the increase in cultural diversity and outcomes reflect significantly more benefits than challenges. Our findings suggest the benefits of cultural diversity come from the informational advantages, supporting the processing perspective. The challenges of diversity are rooted in the social categorization and in-group-out-group dynamics, lending support to the social identity theory. This study advances diversity literature based on research evidence of the various antecedents and outcomes in employing a culturally diverse workforce. Implications for diversity management are offered so the benefits may be sustained, and the challenges may be minimized in hospitality firms.

This study seeks to influence environment sports on the performance of athletes. Applied research is a descriptive survey. The population consisted of high-level of athletes in martial disciplines in Tehran (3 sports gym) were estimated at around 158 people. 113 athletes have been invited to respond to the questionnaire that they use randomly chosen sample of the population by Cochran formula. A questionnaire was used for data collection. The questionnaire consists of 3 parts. The first part included demographic information and the second part of the questionnaire contains 12 questions, including questions of appearance and the third part is consist of the standard questionnaire strategic performance of Thomas. Relaiability of questionnaire is achived with experts and stability of it was 0,966 by using of Cronbach's alpha coefficient in e SPSS software. The results show that the apparent and qualitative factors are directly affecting the performance of athletes.

The study aimed to know the reality of participation of the teaching staff of the College of Education at Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University in the educational decision making from their viewpoint and its association with the organizational affiliation among them. For fulfilling the study objectives, the research used the descriptive survey method, and the study tool was by applying questionnaires for 157 participants members from the teaching staff of the College of Education at Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh. Main findings: overall tool of degree of contribution in decision making and its association with organizational affiliation according to responses of the teaching staff of the College of Education at Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University gained total average of (3.95/5) and at the both fields level. Also, the field of contribution of teaching staff member in decision making gained an average of (4.02/5), while the field of organizational affiliation gained an average of (3.88) and both gained a nearly high level. There’s a statistically significant correlation found between degree of contribution of the teaching staff of the College of Education at Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University in decision making and organization affiliation (P value= 0.39) which is a moderate positive correlation, in which whenever the contribution in decision making increases, the organizational affiliation increases. According to these results, a set of recommendations and suggestions are given for increasing the level of contribution and improving the organizational affiliation at Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University particularly and the Saudi Arabian and Arabic Universities generally.

Workforce diversity is a critical area of competence for any organisation. It is an important asset for every organisation that seeks competitive advantage in the global economy. With the change in needs at the fast pace, the association among the people from varied culture, background, beliefs etc. has increased substantially. Wambui et.al. state that HRM practices need to promote diversity for business to grow effectively. The paper discusses the various benefits of a having a diverse workforce along with the challenges linked to it (post #me too movement also). The study of various literature and research papers and books has been done which reveals that diversity is all about differences. The manner in which we analyse and use these differences will determine whether diversity is an asset or liability to the individual and the organization. Workforce diversity can prove to be a strong pillar to the organisation if managed appropriately. There is need to lead a diverse workforce that can give diverse benefits to the organisation.

Objective: The aim of this study was the determine educational status, anxiety, the use of prevention methods and their knowledge level of nurses, operation theatre staffs and technicians about radiation. Methods: This study is a cross-sectional descriptive survey. The universe of our study consists of non-medical doctor staffs (nurses, technicians and operating theatre personnel) of one university and two training and research hospitals in İzmir. The sample selection was not made in our study and the personnels who accepted to participate in the study constituted the sample of the study (n=97). This was a survey of 21 questions. The survey includes participants’ demographical datas, protection type from radiation, anxiety about radiation, knowledge about radiation and education level about radiation. SPSS v21.0 were used for statistical analysis. Results: In our study, 97 participants completed the questionnaire. 51 of the participants were female (52.6%) and 46 were male (47.4%). Forty-one (42.3%) of the participants were 9 health technician (9.3%), 20 (20.6%) anesthesia technicians and 27 (27.8%) operating theatre staffs. It was found that 85 (87.6%) of the participants had operations requiring fluoroscopy in the operating room. It was learned that 29 (29.9%) participants answered the question examining the knowledge about radiation and 38 (39.2%) were educated about radiation safety. When the relationship between the participants’ answers to the question examining the knowledge about radiation and the educational level about radiation was examined, a statistically significant relationship was found between them (p=0.043). Conclusion: It was thought that non-medical doctor employees in the orthopedics and traumatology operating theatre had a high level of anxiety about radiation, had insufficient knowledge, and that training on radiation should be repeated periodically.

Autonomy is one of the vocational criteria of the nursing profession and is essential for safe and quality care. Nurses begin to learn the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values associated with their professional roles during their school years. Nursing students should primarily have a high level of autonomy to protect and improve individuals’ health, and enhance their life quality in the future. This descriptive study was carried out with 285 nursing students to determine their autonomy levels. The study data were collected using a personal information form and the autonomy subscale (AS) of the Sociotropy-Autonomy Scale. For the analysis of the data, numbers, percentages, mean and standard deviation values, Mann-Whitney U, and Kruskal Wallis tests were employed, and the significance level was accepted as p <0.05. The mean total score of the students obtained from AS was 103.65 ± 18.34. Their scores from the subscales of AS were 42.68 ± 8.16 for “personal achievement”, 40.77 ± 7.70 for “freedom”, and 20.20 ± 4.70 for “enjoying loneliness”. The mean total score of the first-grade students was found to be higher than that of other grades, but the difference was not statistically significant (p> 0.05). The autonomy level of the students was found to be above the middle level, and the autonomy level of 1st-grade students was higher than that of the students in other grades.

Abstract. Nowdays, english as a subject learned in primary school level. Its because the important of english towards the student. This study was conducted aimed to know the influence of Picture Cards in teaching vocabulary to the third grade of Nida Suksa School, Thailand. The subjects of the research were students in the third grade. The researcher only took nine students in different abilities from a high level (3/1), middle level (3/2), and low level (3/3). The instrument used by the researcher was an interview. The result showed that the students still had difficulty in understanding the texts because of having a lack of vocabulary, long texts, and limited time to analyze the text in answering the question. The students studied vocabulary through Picture Cards, and they learned vocabulary tests from text book. Furthermore, the finding of this study was: Picture Cards is able to increase and enrich their vocabulary and their knowledge. The implication of Pictures Cards can motivate students to understand the text. Therefore, they can understand many texts in vocabulary tests.Keywords: Teaching Vocabulary, Picture Cards

This study’s objective was to determine factors that that sustain a quality dyad. Leaders are known to consciously and sub consciously form two groups; in-group and outgroup members. Studies have revealed that in-group members work overtime and perform extra duties and in turn, get favours from the leaders including career mobility and access to information, among other favours. Literature is unclear on how these groups are formed and this paper embarked on finding out the recipe of the formation and sustainability of a quality dyad. It was hypothesised that being a male member, trust and competence are not recipes of a high-quality relationship. Descriptive survey was employed; a population of 19 leaders were responding to questions about their 169 employees who report to them directly. Primary data was collected using semi-structured questionnaires.122 pairs of leaders and their direct reports was the response rate (72.2%). Descriptive statistics were used to analyse the data. The hypothesis was tested using logistical regression technique. The results showed that competence and trust are the recipe for an inclusion into the in-group of a leader. Gender, on the other hand, was not a recipe for a sustainable quality dyadic relationship. It is recommended that employees should ensure high level trustworthiness and competence for them to be kept close by the leader. The paper suggests that more variables can be considered as recipes for the quality dyadic relationship. These findings add significant value on both theory, policy and practice.
