This research is an experimental study through elaborates the Active Knowledge Sharing (AKS) learning model to improve students' High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The low ability of students to analyze, evaluate, and create is due to the lack of application of questions that deliver students to solve problems that contain HOTS. The four stages in the AKS will serve as a reference for students’ HOTS integrated 4Cs. The sample was a student in Chemical Engineering at the State Polytechnic of Ujung Pandang. The increase in the average aspects of HOTS (analysis, evaluation, and create) in the experimental class (N-gain = 94%) higher than the control class (N-gain = 57%). In the experimental class, the average score for HOTS of students was 37.7 and there was an increase in the average score in the posttest final measurement of 96.5 or an increase of 59 points with the average high-level thinking ability of students in the very good category. This indicates that the AKS learning model is effective in increasing the ability of HOTS as well as having an impact on students' 4Cs abilities.

The 2013 curriculum encourages learners to have high-level high-level thinking skills high order thinking skills (HOTS). This requires teaching materials that are in line with the demands of the 2013 Curriculum such as Student Worksheets (LKPD). To develop LKPD in accordance with the demands of the 2013 Curriculum, it is necessary to analyze the needs of students about the LKPD. The purpose of this study was to see the needs of students' analysis of HOTS-based LKPD to hone higher order thinking skills so that students could think critically and creatively. This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The sampling technique was observation, interviews and questionnaires to students of SMPN 3 and SMPN 23 Padang. The results showed that the teaching materials available at SMPN 3 Padang and SMPN 23 Padang already used the 2013 Curriculum, but the LKPD used was only made by the Subject Teacher Conference. The LKPD made by the MGMP does not require students to analyze, evaluate and create which are indicators of HOTS. From the analysis of the curriculum, the two schools have implemented the 2013 curriculum, but in its implementate it has not emphasized a student-centered learning process. Based on the interview with the teacher, it was found that the problem in the learning process was that students were not used to higher-order thinking and there was no teaching material that specifically required students to improve higher-order thinking. Thus, the development of HOTS-based LKPD is very much needed.

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is an ability that can create students in critical and creative individuals. The ways that can be used to reveal students' high-level thinking skills by using contextual problems in learning. The purpose of this study was to describe the profile of high order thinking of 8th-grade students in solving contextual problems regarding slerek boat. This research is a type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 8thH grade students of  SMPN 1 Muncar, which amounted to 28 students. Data retrieval using test questions and interview activities. From the results of data collection, the results show that the ability of 8thH grade students tends to be able to solve questions at the evaluation level. This can be seen from the results of the test questions where there is 1 student who can solve the question of creation level (C6), 22 students can solve the question of the level of evaluation (C5) and 5 students can solve the level of analysis (C4). Based on the results of interviews, students who can solve the question level C5 have good ability in analyzing problems can explain the settlement process both orally and in writing, besides that it’s also able to make a hypothesis and test the hypothesis made previously

This study aims to describe the commognitive analysis of students' errors in solving High order thinking skills problems. The problem of this study is that students have difficulty of solving mathematical problems because students do not build their own knowledge of mathematical concepts but tend to memorize concepts so that when students solve math problems students often make mistakes and do not find solutions to solve these problems. Students also taught themselves that math is difficult. This type of research is a qualitative description. The research subjects were three grade X students of Senior High school 1 Pamekasan. The instruments used in this study were mathematical problem seets and semi-structured interviews. The results showed that students experienced faults in 1) word use (mistake writting mathematical symbol and not consisstent in writting naming. the factors are hasty, inaccurate, not understanding the questions, incomplete writing is known, and asked, not understanding the material.); 2) Visual mediator (mistakes in drawing or illustrating the problem. Student is not using visual mediators, some students use visual mediators but are still wrong and use it,); 3) Narrative (not writing the formula but writing the results directly. Student mistakes also occur because students do not know the strategy that will be used to solve them, while the students' mistakes made at this stage are: students are wrong in writing the formula definition sine and wrong for not writing the formula.); 4) Routine (inaccurate in arithmetic operations so that the final answer is wrong. The mistakes of some students in general in doing routine are the students doing wrong calculations, wrong in substituting values or numbers that are known in the formula.). With this research, teachers can find out where the difficulties and misconceptions of students are in doing it so that it becomes new learning for students to improve learning outcomes and minimize errors.

The test instrument given by the teacher to students has not required students to think at a high level in mathematics, the important thing is that students must be familiar with questions that require High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) to compete with other countries which can be seen in the TIMSS and PISA scores. The purpose of this study was to determine the students' high-order mathematical thinking skills, as well as to determine the validity, reliability, difficulty level, and differentiating power of the High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) oriented test instrument. This developmental research uses the ADDIE type.. There were 57 students who were used as subjects in this study. The results showed that 15 questions that were considered successful and valid were developed, this is the average score of the test instrument assessment by experts of 91% and the validity of each test item is declared "valid" because tcount ≥ ttable. The reliability of the test instrument for each package of questions was rated as reliable in the high category. In the analysis of the level of difficulty, it appears that the results are in the easy and medium categories. In the analysis of discriminatory power, it appears that the results are quite good and good. The average results of students' high-order mathematical thinking skills are insufficient category.
