Marriage is one of human needs in life. In Indonesia wedding ceremony has various traditions that have been carried out from generation to generation. As found in the Ajung, Jember, East Java. The tradition carried out in the village of Ajung Wetan Jember is quite unique. They invite the neighbourhood to the wedding within food, cigarette or soap. This kind of tradition is known as tradisi tonjokan. From that uniqueness, the writer chose tradisi tonjokan as topic of this research to explore more deeply, how the villagers interpret these traditions within symbolic interaction perspective in communication studies. Authors used a qualitative as a research method . Data were collected by in-depth interview and observe the Ajung residents. The result of this research is that the villagers of Ajung Wetan Jember interpret the tradisi tonjokan as a way of inviting close relatives or neighbors using soap, cigarettes, or food. Furthermore, what is unique about this tradition from Ajung Wetan Jember is the items used to invite, side dishes of rice, cigarettes, and soap. The last, the tradisi tonjokan has another purpose besides inviting, that is a  respect and gratitude  for the person who is invited. Also on the other hand, tradisi tonjokan is considered as obligation to attend the wedding ceremony.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi bentuk toleransi dan faktor pendorong dan faktor penghambat toleransi masyarakat Jawa dengan studi kasus di Dukuh Medono Kabupaten Batang. Di dukuh tersebut, penganut organisasi agama seperti NU, Muhammadiyah dan Kristen Jawa di Dukuh Medono saling hidup rukun. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa toleransi antar penganut NU, Muhammadiyah, Kristen Jawa tampak berbagai bentuk. Antara NU dan Kristen Jawa dalam bentuk partisipasi dalam ritual tahlilan, sedangkan antar ketiganya tampak dalam bentuk kerja bakti, saling membantu dalam acara hajatan, perkawinan campur dan saling berkunjung bila ada yang sakit. Faktor pendorong toleransi antara lain budaya toleransi yang sudah lama, pernikahan antar penganut yang berbeda, sosialisasi toleransi dalam keluarga, dan kepemimpinan desa yang menekankan pentingnya toleransi. Sedangkan faktor penghambat toleransi yaitu perbedaan pandangan antar penganut NU dan Muhammadiyah dalam pelaksanaan ibadah, pernikahan beda keyakinan, dan sikap menyinggung keyakinan diantara penganut yang ada. The objective of this study is to explore forms of tolerance and the driving factor of religious tolerance in Dukuh Medono, Batang. In that village, the followers of NU, Muhammadiyah, and Kristen Jawa live peacefully and united in tolerance. The research method used here is a qualitative method with phenomenology approach. The result of the research shows that the tolerance between NU followers and Javanese Christians take the form of participation in tahlilan ritual. The tolerance between NU, Muhammadiyah followers, and Kristen Jawa followers are expressed through kerja bakti, mutual support in hajatan rituals, mixed marriage, visits to the sick, and social activities together. The factors which help to create tolerance include the culture of tolerance which exist in the village, marriages between religious followers, the socialization of tolerance within family, the socialization of tolerance within the society and the role of village administrative leaders. On the other hand, the factors which distract tolerance are different point of view between NU dan Muhammadiyah followers in some religious aspects, marriage between different religious followers, and the attitude of insulting others beliefs.

The Itawes is one of the indigenous groups of Isabela, Philippines, along withthe Ybanags, Yogads, and Gaddangs. In Cagayan Valley, two groups of Itawes arefound: one from the Province of Cagayan and the other, from Echague, Isabela.This study was conducted to document the indigenous foods of the Itawes thatare gradually vanishing due to the modern way of living or due to acculturation.As the foods slowly disappear, so do the foods’ associated meanings and beliefsattached to them.  Being aware of their indigenous foods would help maintainand create a link or bridge the gap between the Itawes’ past generations to thepresent. The study used the descriptive research method. Triangulation wasutilized using direct participatory approach, in depth interview and a focus groupdiscussion. The foods were documented and the health and social meanings andbeliefs attached to these foods were noted and explained by the elders. Frequencyand percentages were used. The findings showed that Itawes favorite exotic foods were the following: fried “duron”, ‘simmawa”, “utoy” and “talagang”; their dessert, “bahat”, “mang-ga”, “dendelut”, “pinatarak” and “dinuntuan”. TheItawes’ social life and physical health had been closely associated with their foods.Some of their indigenous foods and practices had been consistently confrontedwith the influence of modernization and development that seriously endangertheir traditional cultures or the total obliteration of their culture.Keywords: Social Research, Itawes, indigenous foods, descriptive design, Philippines

This study analyzes the implementation of the Village Fund Program and the cause of the delay in absorption of the fund in 2015 in Pacitan District. The Village Fund Program as a central government program was implemented at the first time in 2015. The Civil Society and Village Empowerment Board (BPMPD) was investigated with regard to a sample of seven villages in Pacitan District. The research method is descriptive qualitative analysis, with data collected by conducting interviews and collecting documentation. The results reveal that the delay in absorption was caused by deficient regulations, which were subsequently revised in April 2015 to improve the implementation of the Village Fund Program. As a result, the Program implementation timeline is shifting from the initial plan. On the other hand, the BPMPD of Pacitan District faced difficulties in interpreting the regulations regarding the implementation of the Program from three line ministries.                         Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan Program Dana Desa dan mencari penyebab terjadinya keterlambatan penyerapan dana desa pada tahun 2015. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kabupaten Pacitan. Penelitian dilakukan pada Badan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Pemerintahan Desa (BPMPD) dan mengambil tujuh desa sebagai sampel. Metode analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif, yang sumber datanya diperoleh dengan melaksanakan wawancara dan dari sumber dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlambatan penyerapan Dana Desa disebabkan oleh ketidaksempurnaan peraturan yang mendasari pelaksanaan Program Dana Desa. Akibatnya, pada bulan April 2015 dilakukan perubahan peraturan pelaksanaan Program Dana Desa yang berdampak pada bergesernya timeline pelaksanaan program tersebut. Di samping itu, BPMPD Kabupaten Pacitan menghadapi kendala dalam penginterpretasian peraturan terkait pelaksanaan Program Dana Desa dari tiga kementerian terkait.

Abstract Bawean is an archipelago administratively included in Gresik Regency, where the main occupation of the people is farming and fishing, but not all of the people have land to farm and ships to go to sea, and not a few who work in Malaysia and Singapore have even become citizens of that country. so that the land and rice fields below are unproductive, so there is cooperation between landowners and tenants or cultivators, in agricultural practices, landowners and processors or workers often make contracts and agreements in such cooperation, as well as in the village of Lebak, the agreement sees to the weather, or irrigation used to irrigate rice fields, and the yields obtained during the rainy season in certain months are different, there are at least three cooperation systems in the muzara'ah contract implemented there, in this study the three systems were analyzed to determine which in accordance with Islamic law , of the three, there are two agreements that use the muzara’ah contract, and the other one uses the ijarah agreement or lease agreement. This study aims to determine the pattern formation of farmer groups and the dynamics surrounding it. Theoretically, this research is expected to complement previous studies and as a material for further study the interaction problems of farmers in the group. The research method in this study is a qualitative descriptive symbolic interaction perspective. The unit of analysis in this study is the interaction between individuals in a partnership contract with the farmers do Perhutani office and perceptions that arise from the current fertility involved in these interactions. The data collection is done by means of unstructured interviews, in-depth interviews (depth interview), and the observation participation. The data were analyzed qualitatively. The study's findings include the discovery of the three main sources of formation of farmer groups, which are formed due to the dynamics problem fertilizer distribution mechanism, their help, and through association study.Ultimately verifier will recommend the farmer group based institutional track record and activeness in the sustainability of the program, both in terms of activities, maintenance, as well as the accountability side.

The objective of this research to discover character value in playing football from a youth perspective in nighborhood football team. The research method approach exerts qualitative and ethnographic. The method is implied because the research intends to find out character value in football playing based on community perspective in nighborhood football group. The data are gathered with an in-depth interview. Sample are selected through purposive technique. The result is probed meticulously through triangulation technique and triangulation sources. The result shows that playing football has numerous value in creating character including teamwork, honesty, responsibility, role in society, and Sportif value. The other is playing football have social capital value because football match creating social networking, trusting, solidarity, mutual assisting and social connection among the member in group or group of a competitor. The other is to vanish some of the ailment such as heart attack, obesity, abolish the rate of human stress, and lung ailment. Lastly, it can improve the prosperity of societies around because the community have the opportunity to trade some of the meal and drink when the football is conducted

The research aimed to find out types of rattan, types of handicrafts, and the utilization process by the craftsmen community in the village of Menyabo. The subject of the study was community in the village of Menyabo utilizing rattan. The object of research is rattan which is utlization by the community. The research method was the survey, in which the sample was taken through sampling techniques using a census from the entire craftsman community. The data were collected through an in-depth interview by referring to interview guidelines. The results of data analysis showed that there were only a few types of rattan found in Menyabo village, and only two types of rattan used, namely Marau rattan and Sega rattan. The product  in the form of a bearable, takin, fork, tengkalang/basket, winnow, and shoe/sandals rack. Menyabo village community do not market the product. All types of product is only used for daily needs as kitchen furniture. Keywords: Utilization, Rattan, Community

The purpose of this study was to determine the Agricultural Social Capital, especially the elements of trust and reciprocity in Tanah Towa Village, Bulukumba Regency. The research method used is qualitative with interviews and discussion data collection techniques. The results of this study indicate that social capital in Tanah Towa villagers can be seen from the trust, cooperation and networks, collective action, reciprocal relationships (reciprocity), which occur in the community. And based on the overall results obtained by the trust of the village community quite well, cooperation such as farmer groups and farmer groups combined and reciprocal relationships with the community not only occur in close relatives but on all communities depending on the level of closeness between individuals social capital is a big thing in the development and progress of human resources for the development of a nation.

This study aims to determine the administration of village assets. The method used is descriptive qualitative research method and using data research technique with in-depth interview, observation and documentation. The selection of Rawa Burung Village and Rawa Rengas Village in this study because the two villages have a location close to DKI Jakarta Province which is expected to have competent employees in the management of village assets. Yet, there have not been party that handles specific assets in both villages. The sources of information in this research are the head of planning affairs of rawa rengas village and head of the regional government section, whose field  of work is not related to the management of the village assets directly.The results of this study conclude that the administration of village assets has not been done optimally, especially in Rawa Rengas Village which has not been implemented village assets reporting, thus it has not been implemented accountably and transparently. The management of village assets, especially its administration, is focused on one party only, whereas for the job it requires a sufficient number of employees with competency in the administration of the assets. In addition, village accounting standards included in the setting up of village assets is still existed due to the limitations of government accounting standards which only regulate accounting of central government and local government assets.

<p>Abstract: This study examines local culture especially the use of mantra in planting rice ritual by Javanese in Ngepeh Village Caruban Madiun. The mantra consisted of three parts (early/prototype:Head;Middle/Body; End/wasana: Foot) is used to request the good harvest in which expresses symbolic interaction in the form of salvation.There some factors which influence Javanese community conduct rice planting ritual such as Javanese belief, Javanese worldview, the essence of life. Mantra is used as means to communicate with the Rice Goddess/Dewi Sri and also Danyang of the Village to ask the fertilie harvest and safety from the pest or disasters. It is a case study research which uses a qualitative approach. The technique of collecting the data in this research are participatory observation ( to get the related data to the expression mantra) and In depth Interview (get the the interpretation of the society related to the the essence of life). In conclusion, the relationship of culture and language in the Java community also affects the activity of the use of mantra in the rice planting ceremony (tandur rhyme). In this case the farmer Caruban have inherited the tradition of ancestor worship the rice goddess Dewi Sri as well as The Village Danyang Watcher respected to the next generation and they are considered to whom request that all their wishes can be fulfilled.</p><p> </p><p>Keywords: Mantra, Rice Planting Ritual, Caruban Community</p>
