(1) Background: based on the constantly increasing requirements for modern university graduates, we have developed an educational model that allows us to introduce content and language integrated learning into classes with a multilingual approach, which will allow students to use several foreign languages in the process of professional communication. The purpose of the paper is to evaluate the efficiency of a newly introduced integrated learning model from the perspective of students, to identify the impact of such a model on students’ professional discipline learning outcomes and to determine if the learning model contributes to an improvement in foreign language proficiency. (2) Methods: for our research we used qualitative and quantitative data from students’ records of professional discipline and Spanish testing, as well as surveys and interviews on proposed learning model efficiency. Two groups of students took part in the experiment (N = 23 and N = 24). (3) Results: results on students’ Spanish proficiency showed that the proposed learning model had a positive influence. Students from the experimental group got higher results on Listening, Reading and Speaking. According to results on professional discipline, both groups achieved approximately equal scores. Moreover, students described such a proposed learning model as efficient and progressive, giving a lot of advantages. (4) Conclusions: the experiment conducted confirmed the efficiency of the proposed learning model. In conclusion, it can be recommended for the realization of a multilingual approach, as well as the learning of a professional discipline.

As new informational conditions contribute to the discovery of new ways to improve the quality of the educational process, a new integrated learning model was elaborated. The purpose of the paper is to evaluate the students’ engagement in a newly-introduced integrated learning model, identify the impact of such a model on students’ learning outcomes, and to determine if students’ engagement levels influence their learning outcomes. For our research we used qualitative and quantitative data of students’ records of professional discipline and English testing, surveys and interviews on behavioral engagement, emotional engagement, and cognitive engagement (N = 63). Results on students’ engagement showed that online activity, especially the online international project, involved students more than face-to-face classes, but at the same time some of them noted that without lectures it would be difficult, or even impossible, to participate in a project. Thus the overall engagement level was quite high. Additionally, an integrated approach positively impacted learners’ outcomes. The correlation analysis showed that learners’ engagement played an influential role and highly impacted students’ learning results. In this case we can conclude that our integrated learning model contributes to students’ involvement in the educational process and, as a consequence, allows them to achieve greater results.

The study aimed at examining the effect of adopting blended learning on Moroccan high school students’ English language proficiency. This has been essentially achieved through relying both on face-to-face classroom interactions and using “Google classroom”, which is a free online learning platform.  The researcher opted for a quasi-experimental design to gauge the impact of implementing a blended learning model on the research sample. This study enlisted the participation of 79 Moroccan first-year Baccalaureate students who were divided into two separate but homogenous groups. The experimental group was taught using the blended learning model, and the control group was tutored in a traditional learning environment. The mean scores’ differences of the pre-test and the post-test asserted that, in comparison to the face-to-face learning, the blended learning model adopted was significantly impactful in improving the language proficiency level of the treatment group. However, no significant gender differences were observed in this regard. In essence, this piece of research has placed much emphasis on the idea that the efficient incorporation of ICT, particularly blended learning, into the learning/teaching process can help satisfy students’ needs, increase their motivation, and eventually enhance their language mastery.

This study aims to compare the impact of the Dual Situated Learning Model (DSLM) and conventional instructions in improving High School Students’ understanding of chemical equilibrium concepts and the prevention of possible misconceptions. The study utilized a quasi-pretest-posttest control and experimental group design with two classes of XI SMAN as the research sample (N=60 students). Pre-posttests consisting of 12 two-tier questions (r = 0.691) used to assess the learners’ understanding of the chemical equilibrium. The results showed a significant difference in favor of the learners who taught using the DSLM model in comparison to those in the conventional approaches (Fount = 4.149; p = 0.003). Students in the experimental class had a better understanding and fewer misconceptions about the concept of chemical equilibrium. Implications for science educators suggest that learning that is designed by considering students' misconceptions or preconceptions and anticipating them through appropriate learning steps will have a positive influence on the learners’ conceptual understanding.

The paper is dedicated to the investigation of international online project influence on students’ leadership skills development. The sample included 141 students who participated in the online X-culture project as a part of their professional discipline course. The research was carried out in the years 2019-2020. The students were surveyed every week during a 2-month length project. For the analysis, we used the answers of the first and the last surveys to determine the impact of the project. The results showed significant improvements in all indicators of Leadership skills that confirmed the positive influence of the X-culture project. Moreover, we conducted inter-views with ten random students to reveal the influencing factors of the project and define whether the project changes students’ behavior toward professional discipline learning. Students confirmed the positive influence of working in a virtual team on their communication skills and general motivation to study the professional discipline. Thus, we confirmed the importance of implementing project activity into the courses of professional discipline due to substantial influence on leadership skills development and higher engagement in the learning process.

Introduction. Russian universities attempting to introduce the content and language integrated learning model into the educational process at the levels of bachelor's degree and master's degree face risks and difficulties caused by the lack of a "balance" between substantive competencies and foreign language communicative competence of both the teacher and the students. The purpose of the article is to present the local experience of using the model of content and language integrated learning as a means of forming bilingual competence in the field of professional communication by the example of training masters based on the "Deutsch Lehren Lernen" ("Learning to teach German") program. Materials and methods. The study involved 87 first- and second-year students of the full-time master's program (direction of training "Pedagogical Education") at Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University named after V.P. Astafiev during 2017–2020. The main research methods were forecasting, design, prolonged monitoring of the results of learning, a questionnaire survey, and McNemar's statistical test. Results. The experimental use of the model of forming content and language bilingual competence of master's degree students showed an increase in the coefficient of assimilation of the content of the educational material of the components of the integrated disciplines to the high one (0.95 > x > 0.80) and the sufficient one (0.80 > x > 0.65). There is a high level of forming the content and language bilingual competence in all types of speech activity: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. After completing the metasubject course, students can correctly and logically use subject knowledge in speech activity in German (p < 0.04), master the terminological minimum according to the methodology of teaching German (p < 0.01). Discussion. The assumption was confirmed about the possibility of forming bilingual competence of master's degree students subject to the design and implementation algorithm of the content and language integrated learning model, which includes: a) the development of criteria for selecting subjects for interdisciplinary integration; b) taking into account the balance of universal, professional, and linguistic competencies formed in the process of integration; c) focus on the practice-oriented nature of the research training of master's degree students. Conclusion. The results of the research can be used in metasubject design and practical implementation of the process of forming bilingual competence of a future specialist in the field of professional communication at the master's degree level.

This study examines the impact of perceived foreign language proficiency on hybrid culture building in multicultural teams. Hybrid culture includes a mutually shared set of norms, communication patterns, problem-solving approaches, and synergistic task coordination that result from the diverse cultural backgrounds of the team members. Language is the main vehicle for communication and plays a major role in social interaction and therefore hybrid culture building. We argue that the level of perceived language proficiency of multicultural team members influences hybrid culture building; consequently, adequate language skills lead not only to an efficient task solution but are also an important factor in creating interpersonal relationships and building a shared culture. Our empirical analysis supports the positive influence of language proficiency in hybrid teams; however, foreign language proficiency is more influential on cognitively oriented areas of multicultural teamwork than on affective ones.
