We investigate the association between dividend policy and government shareholding, using Malaysian data. We hypothesize a positive association. We contribute to the literature about dividend policy. Unique features of our study include adaptations to the Malaysian institutional setting, with respect to usage of dividend relevance theory, research methodology, and data collection. The methodology entails two-stage least squares regressions. Dividend payout and dividend yield are the dependent variables in tests of the research hypothesis. The independent variable of interest measures ownership by government-related institutional investors. The sample comprises 1190 company-years, over the investigation period 2006–2013. The results support our hypothesis. The evidence suggests that this support principally emanates from companies with low-quality corporate governance.

This research aims to know the influence of the dividend policy and funding decisions against the value of the company as well as an influence after the interaction of variable moderation that is the quality of the earnings. Types and sources of data obtained from the financial reports of the company property, real estate, and building construction 2016-2017 year published or to be published on the official website BEI ww.idx.co.id. Engineering data collection is done by the study of librarianship and documentation methods. Technique analysis on the research is conducting a classical assumption before multiple regression test was performed, and performed two model regression testing, i.e. the residual test and model test of interaction (MRA). Based on the results of the research, the author can provide a conclusion that funding decisions take effect against the value of the company, while the dividend policy has no effect against the value of the company. Results after the variable moderation that is giving interaction strengthen the relationship between the dependent variable independent variable.

This study discusses the effect of working capital turnover, dividend policyand debt ratio to the value of the company to profitability as an interveningvariable (study on property and real estate companies listed on the IndonesiaStock Exchange) periode 2010-2015. The independent variable used wasworking capital turnover, dividen policy, debt ratio, profitability (return onequity) as intervening variable and dependent variable was the value ofcompany (price earning ratio). The sampling method use was purposivesampling with a sample of 8 companies. Data collection techniques wasdocumentation technique. The analysis methods of this study used theclassical assumption test and path analysis test. From the research that has been done, it can be seen that there was asignificant effect of working capital turnover, and debt ratio of debt as partiallyto profitability, and there was no significant effect of dividend policy aspartially to profitability. There was simultaneous effectf working capitalturnover, dividend policy, and debt ratio to profitability. There was significanteffect of working capital turnover as partially to the value of company, andthere was no significant effect of debt ratio and profitability as partially to thevalue of company. And There was simultaneously effect of working capitalturnover, debt ratio and profitability to the value on property and real estatecompanies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange. Profitability couldn’t beintervening for independent variable to the value of company. The mostdominant factor affected the value of the company at property and real estatecompanies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange is working capitalturnover.

Background: The use of variations of collimation will provide a low dose to the patient and radiographic results that provide a good quality image. This research is to examine the effects of various collimation sizes on the image quality and radiation doses when using x-ray machine at Radiology laboratory of  Al-Islam Polytechnic, Bandung. How much the change in density values that occur and to find out of scattering radiation received by the patient in the Radiology laboratory of  Al-Islam Polytechnic, Bandung. Methods: This type of research is an experimental study with participatory observation data collection. at the Radiology Laboratory of the Al-Islam Polytechnic, Bandung The independent variable is variations of collimation, the dependent variables are quality image and doses radiation. Data collection was carried out by exposing a Stepwedge stored on a 35 x 35 cm radiographic cassette with different irradiation areas and pendose as a measure of radiation. Radiograph results were analyzed by a densitometer. Then the results will be analyzed using digraph to know the movement of each different irradiation field area. Results: The results showed that there were influences of changes in the variation of collimation.  Density value and scattered radiation of each different irradiation field area produces are different values. The smaller area of the irradiation field. Is, the higher density value and low dose. Thus, to get the best density value and the low dose is required to reduce the width of the collimation field conducted. Conclusions: There was an influence variation of collimation on the quality of the image and dose to the patient.

AbstractWhereas previous studies of Spanishs-weakening have relied on impressionistic coding, the present study examines temporal and gradient acoustic details in the production of /s/ by eight females from Cali, Colombia, during sociolinguistic interviews. We propose a metric for quantifyings-realization by employing three scalar-dependent variables:s-duration, centroid, and voicelessness. The results of linear regressions indicate that the dependent variables are significantly conditioned by local speaking rate, word position, following and preceding phonological context, stress, and lexical frequency. This study sheds light on how each independent variable influencess-realization acoustically. For example, as local speaking rate increases, duration, centroid, and voicelessness decrease, which is indicative of lenition, and the same weakening tendency is observed when /s/ occurs in word-final position or is followed by a nonhigh vowel, whereas frequency contributes only tos-duration. We discuss the advantages of opting for instrumental measurements over symbolic representation.

Information about tree biomass is important not only in the assessment of wood resources but also in the process of preparing forest management plans, as well as for estimating carbon stocks and their flow in forest ecosystems. The study aimed to develop empirical models for determining the dry mass of the aboveground parts of black locust trees and their components (stem, branches, and leaves). The research was carried out based on data collected in 13 stands (a total of 38 sample trees) of black locust located in western Poland. The model system was developed based on multivariate mixed-effect models using two approaches. In the first approach, biomass components and tree height were defined as dependent variables, while diameter at breast height was used as an independent variable. In the second approach, biomass components and diameter at breast height were dependent variables and tree height was defined as the independent variable. Both approaches enable the fixed-effect and cross-model random-effect prediction of aboveground dry biomass components of black locust. Cross-model random-effect prediction was obtained using additional measurements of two extreme trees, defined as trees characterized by the smallest and largest diameter at breast height in sample plot. This type of prediction is more precise (root mean square error for stem dry biomass for both approaches equals 77.603 and 188.139, respectively) than that of fixed-effects prediction (root mean square error for stem dry biomass for both approaches equals 238.716 and 206.933, respectively). The use of height as an independent variable increases the possibility of the practical application of the proposed solutions using remote data sources.

The study attempts to figure out the relationship between the performance of the firms and corporate governance in Pakistan. Governance mechanisms used in this study are CEO duality, Independence of Board, Size of Board, and Ownership Concentration. While, the ROA and ROE have been used as dependent variables to measure the performance of firms. Using regression analysis technique on 10 listed firms trading over four years from 2014-2017, the results have been derived. The data regarding all the variables have been collected from all the companies’ annual reports. The discoveries of the study direct that fundamentals of corporate governance such as the Size of the Board, Ownership, and Duality Concentration of CEO have negative effects on performance of organization, as measured by ROA and ROE. While Board independence positively affects the performance of firms. The results are thus significant and provide valuable information for the decision makers about the research issues under consideration.
