The office environment has changed rapidly due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak. Companies consider various types of remote work environments to contain the spread of the virus. Among them, a satellite office is a type of remote work environment where a number of employees are allocated to their nearest office. The benefits from satellite offices are twofold: The significant reduction of travel distance also reduces the amount of carbon emission and fuel consumption. In addition, dividing employees into smaller groups significantly reduces the potential risks of infection in the office. This paper addresses a satellite office allocation problem that considers social and environmental sustainability and infection control at work. In order to evaluate the effect of different satellite office allocation, quantitative measures are developed for the following three criteria: carbon emission, fuel consumption, and the probability of infection occurrence at work. Simulation experiments are conducted to investigate different scenarios of regional infection rate and modes of transportation. The results show that adopting satellite offices not only reduces carbon emission and fuel consumption, but also mitigates business disruption in the pandemic.

This paper analyzes the differences in the perceptions of company employees about ideal leaders in a situation of work in a remote format and in an office environment using the example of a study conducted in a large telecommunications company. The changes that took place in the perception of their leaders by the employees, those expectations from the leaders that came to the fore and became more significant in connection with the transition to the remote work model were identified. The study also identified the behavioral indicators of the competency model that are most relevant for leaders in a remote work situation and analyzed possible differences between employees’ ideas about the ideal leader, depending on the gender of the current leader.

With the rapid development and widespread use of technology, business processes are being transformed. One of the consequences of the implementation of technologies into the business is the partial transition to remote work, which made it necessary to reflect the corresponding changes in the internal control system (IC). The article is devoted to the analysis of the main shortcomings identified during the transition to the remote mode, in response to which measures are proposed to adapt the IC to the conditions of remote work. Identifies the following areas for improvement of the internal control system. In response to the identified areas successful practical examples are analyzed and potential measures are proposed in the context of the elements identified in the COSO conceptual framework and methodological documents of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

Background: While there have been studies exploring moral habitability and its impact on the work environments of nurses in Western countries, little is known about the moral habitability of the work environments of nurses and midwives in resource-constrained settings. Research objective: The purpose of this research was to examine the moral habitability of the work environment of nurses and midwives in Ghana and its influence on their moral agency using the philosophical works of Margaret Urban Walker. Research design and participants: A critical moral ethnography was conducted through the analysis of interviews with 30 nurses and midwives, along with observation, and documentary materials. Ethical considerations: After receiving ethics approval, signed informed consent was obtained from participants before data collection. Results: Five themes were identified: (1) holding onto the values, identities, and responsibilities of being a midwife/nurse; (2) scarcity of resources as limiting capacity to meet caring responsibilities; (3) gender and socio-economic inequities shaping the moral-social context of practice; (4) working with incoherent moral understandings and damaged identities in the context of inter- and intra-professional relationships; and (5) surviving through adversity with renewed commitment and courage. Discussion: The nurses and midwives were found to work in an environment that was morally uninhabitable and dominated by the scarcity of resources, overwhelming and incoherent moral responsibilities, oppressive conditions, and workplace violence. These situations constrained their moral agency and provoked suffering and distress. The nurses and midwives negotiated their practice and navigated through morally uninhabitable work environment by holding onto their moral values and commitments to childbearing women. Conclusion: Creating morally habitable workplaces through the provision of adequate resources and instituting interprofessional practice guidelines and workplace violence prevention policies may promote safe and ethical nursing and midwifery practice.

Environment degradation is a very important issue in developing nations and a lot of research had done to examine the factors of environmental degradation but these studies were missed some important factors which are covered by this study. By examining the effect of economic growth and energy in the presence of renewable energy consumption and technology innovation on environment degradation for ASEAN nations. Panel ARDL (which is PMG and MG) is used to estimate the model, and the advantage of this model is it gives both the long and short-run estimates of the model which helps to understand the situation in both short as well as long run. The results confirm that economic growth, Population, trade, and renewable energy increase the carbon emission level in ASEAN nations. While technology innovation decreased carbon emission levels which means technology innovation helps to keep the environment healthy and clean. Hence, economic growth helps the nations to improve their energy mode from non-renewable to renewable energy, which meets the energy demand by keeping the environment clean.

Missed nursing care is a significant threat to quality patient care. Promoting collective efficacy within nurse work environments could decrease missed care. The purpose was to understand how missed care is associated with nurse work environments and collective efficacy of hospital staff nurses. A cross-sectional, convenience sample was obtained through online surveys from registered nurses working at five southwestern U.S. hospitals. Descriptive, correlational, regression, and path analyses were conducted ( N = 233). The percentage of nurses who reported that at least one care activity was missed frequently or always was 94%. Mouth care (36.0% of nurses) and ambulation (35.3%) were missed frequently or always. Nurse work environments and collective efficacy were moderately, positively correlated. Nurse work environments and collective efficacy were associated with less missed care (χ2 = 10.714, p = .0054). Fostering collective efficacy in the nurse work environment could reduce missed care and improve patient outcomes.

Though the development of China’s civil aviation and the improvement of control ability have strengthened the safety operation and support ability effectively, the airlines are under the pressure of operation costs due to the increase of aircraft fuel price. With the development of optimization controlling methods in flight management systems, it becomes increasingly challenging to cut down flight fuel consumption by control the flight status of the aircraft. Therefore, the airlines both at home and abroad mainly rely on the accurate estimation of aircraft fuel to reduce fuel consumption, and further reduce its carbon emission. The airlines have to take various potential factors into consideration and load more fuel to cope with possible negative situation during the flight. Therefore, the fuel for emergency use is called PBCF (Performance-Based Contingency Fuel). The existing PBCF forecasting method used by China Airlines is not accurate, which fails to take into account various influencing factors. This paper aims to find a method that could predict PBCF more accurately than the existing methods for China Airlines.This paper takes China Eastern Airlines as an example. The experimental data of flight fuel of China Eastern Airlines Co, Ltd. were collected to find out the relevant parameters affecting the fuel consumption, which is followed by the establishment of the LSTM neural network through the parameters and collected data. Finally, through the established neural network model, the PBCF addition required by the airline with different influencing factors is output. It can be seen from the results that the all the four models are available for the accurate prediction of fuel consumption. The amount of data of A319 is much larger than that of A320 and A330, which leads to higher accuracy of the model trained by A319. The study contributes to the calculation methods in the fuel-saving project, and helps the practitioners to learn about a particular fuel calculation method. The study brought insights for practitioners to achieve the goal of low carbon emission and further contributed to their progress towards circular economy.

A fundamental problem concerning medical waste disposal is the evaluation of the real and potential risks arising from waste with the focus on the risk of infection. Therefore, the optimization of medical waste routing from collection to disposal center can minimize the risk of infection. The routing of medical waste considers significant to determine potential routes and select the route with minimum distance. The management of the medical waste is important decision for environmental sustainability and includes the collection, transportation and disposal of these materials. In this paper, a geographic information system (GIS) solution approach is proposed to determine the best location of disposal center. Proposed approach is applied to medical waste transportation between 167 health institutions (collection centers) and predetermined 5 disposal centers through TRB1 region in Turkey, which consist of Malatya, Elaz??, Bingöl and Tunceli provinces. The results of case study are examined and suggestions for future research are provided.

Objective: This paper aims to test and evaluate the Effect of Discipline And Work Environment on Employee Productivity of state-owned public bodies.Design/methodology/approach: This paper uses a quantitative approach using a survey approach. The survey is a study conducted on the employee population of state-owned public agency companies, samples taken from the employee population of state-owned public agency companies to find events related to discipline variables and work environments that can affect employee productivity variables, to analise the influence between discipline variables and the work environment on employee productivity variables using a statistic regression approach. This method is used to explain the influence of discipline variables and work environment on employee productivity variables. This approach is simply to provide a description and test the influence between discipline variables and the work environment on employee productivity variables that can be known how much the influence of discipline variables and work environment on employee productivity variables.Findings: The findings of this study explain that discipline has an influence on the productivity of employees of publicly owned companies, the work environment has an influence on the productivity of employees of publicly owned companies, while together discipline and work environment have an influence on the productivity of employees of publicly owned companies.Practical Implications: The results of the study are recommended for employees to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the performance of state-owned public bodies.Originality: Previous research conducted to test the influence of discipline and work environment on the productivity of employees of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the findings concluded that discipline and work environment have an influence on the work productivity of employees of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This research object of research on publicly owned companies owned by the state.

Employee misconduct is costly to organizations and has the potential to be even more common in gig and remote work contexts, in which workers are physically distant from their employers. There is, thus, a need for scholars to better understand what employers can do to mitigate misconduct in these nontraditional work environments, particularly as the prevalence of such work environments is increasing. We combine an agency perspective with a behavioral relationship-based perspective to consider two avenues through which gig employers can potentially mitigate misconduct: (1) through the communication of organizational values and (2) through the credible threat of monitoring. We implement a real effort experiment in a gig work context that enables us to cleanly observe misconduct. Consistent with our theory, we present causal evidence that communication of organizational values, both externally facing in the form of social/environmental responsibility and internally facing in the form of an employee ethics code, decreases misconduct. This effect, however, is largely negated when workers are informed that they are being monitored. We provide suggestive evidence that this crowding out is due to a decrease in perceived trust that results from the threat of monitoring. Our results have important theoretical implications for research on employee misconduct and shed light on the trade-offs associated with various potential policy solutions.
