The community learning center provides a means of completing compulsory education and increasing the level of educational participation in Indonesia. Through this program, regardless of age, people can continue their education to a level equivalent to junior or senior high school. However, factors that contribute to the success of the program are still in question. This study aimed to determine the contribution of individual characteristics, including work experience, work perception, work motivation, and work discipline, to the success of the equivalency education program at the community learning center. This research was conducted in East Java using a quantitative approach and an explanatory research design. The research sample was taken from 101 program managers through random sampling techniques and the Slovin formula. The data were collected using a questionnaire and then analyzed using multiple regression techniques. The results showed that the education program had high success, with the participants achieving examination pass rates of 96.4% in package B, which is equivalent to junior high school, and 98.2% in package C, which is equivalent to senior high school. The average involvement of community members in the program implementation was 68.6%, and the financial support reached 75.5%. The work experience, work perception, work motivation, and work discipline of the program managers had a significant effect, both simultaneously and partially, on the success of the equivalency education program. In addition, the four independent variables also had a significant predictive effect on the dependent variable, with a simultaneous contribution of 53.8%. Based on these findings, it was recommended that these factors be considered to improve the success, sustainability, and development of education programs at the community learning center.

Education services for certain groups who have learning needs for 12 years of compulsory education other than through formal education can be served through non-formal and informal channels, which are called equality education. This study aims to describe the equality education management program at the Daarut Tauhiid Community Learning Center (CLC) as seen from the management function, namely planning, implementation and evaluation. The research was conducted through a qualitative approach with a participatory exploratory method, using participatory observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and FGDs. The results showed that the equality education program at Daarut Tauhiid CLC consisted of planning that included the needs of the students, determining goals, recruiting teachers and students, preparing learning tools and providing facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the implementation of the program is carried out with a learning pattern in the form of face-to-face, tutorial and independent learning based on the 2013 curriculum. For evaluation, PKBM DT conducts program evaluations internally and externally and evaluates the students.

This article reports the development of a career education program for gifted high school students in a New South Wales selective, coeducational high school. The program replaced a previous approach that was demand-responsive, generic in approach, and not aligned with student needs. A needs analysis of the school and a formative evaluation were undertaken to ensure successful redevelopment of the program. These evaluations resulted in the following changes to the school's program: earlier and more flexible career awareness opportunities; increased scope for clarification of values; inclusion of psychological, psychocreative, and social elements; integration of career education and student welfare; lifelong learning emphases; aspiration enhancement for particular students; strategy employment for females; and an expansion in community learning opportunities. A program influenced by these elements was then highlighted as a best-practice exemplar.

Coastal abrasion has caused the destruction of the mangrove forest in Mojo Pemalang Village. Thus, a preliminary study of communities’ literacy about conservation at Mojo Village, Pemalang, was required to develop the potential of mangrove forest ecotourism. This study aimed to understand the fishermen’s literacy about conservation at Mojo Village, Pemalang related with the development of mangrove forest ecotourism through the Community Learning Center (CLC). The type of research was qualitative descriptive. The research subjects were fishermen in Mojo Village, Pemalang, Central Java, Indonesia. The results of a preliminary study of six indicators of environmental literacy and conservation developed by the North American Association for Environmental Education (2011) and Rush et al. (1999) are as follows: ecological knowledge = 6.02%, verbal commitment = 6.02%, environmental sensitivity = 6.02%, identification = 12.04%, issue analysis = 6.02%, and real commitment = 6.02%. The overall percentage was 42.14% and was included in the low category. The results of the preliminary study indicated that Mojo fishing communities’ literacy about conservation of the environment towards mangrove forests still needed to be improved. A solution suggested based o the results of a preliminary study was the implementation of mangrove ecotourism Community Learning Center (CLC), conducted through several pieces of training, including conservation training, education training, tourism training, and economic training.

STKIP Bina Bangsa Getsempena (STKIP BBG) is one of the private tertiary institutions in Aceh that was established in 2003. During its 15 years of establishment, STKIP BBG has been through an accreditation program by BAN-PT with good results. Even in 2018, STKIP BBG received an award as the best PT Kopertis XIII version of the high school category. This is inseparable from the support in the implementation of Education programs, reports, and alumni selection programs in their work in the world of work after completing the Education program at STKIP BBG. So far, the implementation of the alumni selection program in the form of tracer studies can capture as much as 20-30% according to the needs of the forms. However, this is felt to still need to be improved in order to improve the quality and relevance of the Education program at STKIP BBG in the future. Therefore, the Advanced Career Center Assistance Program especially tracer study will greatly help get accurate feedback from graduates. The tracer study at STKIP BBG will involve 220 alumni graduating in 2017 using the PDCA approach involving surveyors and alumni groups spread across various regions and islands. The results of the tracer study can at least (1) determine the transition of STKIP BBG graduates in the world of work; (2) mapping horizontal and vertical alignment of STKIP BBG graduates; (3) mapping the competency gaps of graduates and the demands of the world of work; (4) assisting government programs in order to strengthen the monitoring system of PT Indonesia graduates, especially in Aceh.
