(1) Background: Sustainability is a crucial priority and a critical part of the modern world. Promoting pro-social values to the younger generation is an issue addressed throughout this paper. The present study aims to answer the question of whether generosity, as a positive attitude towards others, and sustainability, as a positive attitude towards the environment, are related. (2) Methods: The current research includes a sample of 4333 adolescents, ages 14 and 15, who attend schools in Bihor County, Romania. (3) Results: The regression analysis indicates a significant correlation between sustainable values, operationalized through adolescent involvement in environmental organisations, and generosity. (4) Conclusions: Sustainable behaviour can be considered a form of giving that contributes to the collective good. Our research outlines a significant need for a new set of competencies provided through a newly designed curriculum and/or through focused training, in order to cultivate generosity across cultures, ecologies, and generations; at the same time, we also highlight the significant role that the joint efforts of the school-family-library trifecta in supporting this goal.

Locations of recreational parks are said to have a direct influence on youth physical activities. However, there is still a lack of studies on youth activities at recreational parks. Thus, this study examines the relationship between reasons and habit of youth going to recreational parks through a questionnaire survey. Variables that are measured include enjoying the outdoors, use a particular facility at the park, play sports, picnic and general activities, walk or ride a bicycle for exercise and meeting friends. Logistic regression analysis reveals youths are most likely to visit the park for playing sports, walking or riding a bicycle, provided the facilities and amenities are available. Hence, planning, implementation and maintenance of recreational park play a significant role in promoting outdoor activities and active lifestyle among the youth.

The questionnaire was distributed to 250 respondents of  Muslim women staff among academician and non-academician from three colleges in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok Kedah. In this study, the researchers developed a new construct in measuring the compliance to pay zakat on gold, knowledge on zakat and law of zakat. While, the construct in measuring attitude and religious value variable are borrowed from the previous study. The data are then quantitatively analyzed using SPSS program. The findings shows a high significant and  positive correlation between compliance to pay zakat on gold and knowledge on zakat followed by religious value, attitude and law of zakat. Further analysis using multiple regression analysis indicated that only knowledge on zakat, attitude and law of zakat give a significant and positive impact on zakat compliance payment on gold. The result of study contributed to the knowledge of zakat compliance. It is implied that the zakat authority need to intensify their efforts to further improve the effectiveness of education about zakat. Besides, it is proposed that zakat authority strives to cultivate a positive attitude of society towards zakat on gold using various strategic method.

The spread of the idea of application of Khilafah Islamiyah (Islamic Caliphate) emerges zealously over the last few years. This phenomenon occurs especially among the younger generation. Through a quantitative approach, this research examines the theoretical model of the relationship between the need to reject the uncertainty, the social perception of the reality of a society and democratic practices, bias heuristic thinking and the attitude towards the idea of the application of khilafah Islamiyah in Indonesia. Data processed by regression analysis with 245 respondents. Based on the test results of the regression analysis, theoretical models did not fit with the data. Researchers propose a new theoretical model that does not involve variable need of uncertainty avoidance. The bias-heuristic variable thinking proves to be an alternative mediator variable in the relationship between social perception of reality of a society, and democratic emergence and attitudes toward the idea of khilafah Islamiyah. For further research, suggested using SEM analysis. Researchers recommended the need to develop and construct the critical thinking among the younger generation, so they become more critical in addressing ideas tend to be radical

Abstract. Depression in older adults can be explained by Erikson’s theory on the conflict of ego integrity versus hopelessness. The study investigated the relationship between past acceptance, hopelessness, death anxiety, and depressive symptoms in 100 older (≥50 years) adults. The total Beck Hopelessness (BHS), Geriatric Depression (GDS), and Accepting the Past (ACPAST) subscale scores of the depressed group were higher, while the total Death Anxiety (DAS) and Reminiscing the Past (REM) subscale scores of both groups were similar. A regression analysis revealed that the BHS, DAS, and ACPAST predicted the GDS. Past acceptance seems to be important for ego integrity in older adults.

In this article I examine aspects of the relationship between mothers and sons from an attachment perspective in an Irish context. Through the works of Irish writers such as Seamus Heaney, John McGahern, and Colm Tóibín, I focus on particular aspects of this relationship, which fails to support the developmental processes of separation and individuation in the many men who come to me for psychotherapy. I illustrate key points concerning this attachment dynamic through the use of clinical examples of my work with two men from my practice. While acknowledging that many other cultural factors play a significant role in the emotional development of children, integrating the work of our poets, novelists, and scholars with an attachment perspective

ABSTRACT Understanding policy process involves many distinctive approaches. The most common are institutional, groups or networks, exogenous factors, rational actors, and idea-based approach. This paper discussed the idea-based approach to explain policy process, in this case policy change. It aims to analyse how ideas could assist people to understand policy change. What role do they play and why are they considered as fundamental element? It considers that ideas are belong to every policy actor, whether it is individual or institution. In order to answer these questions, this paper adopts Kingdon’s multi streams approach to analyse academic literatures. Through this approach, the relationship between ideas and policy change can be seen clearer. Ideas only can affect in policy change if it is agreed and accepted by policy makers. Therefore the receptivity of ideas plays significant role and it emerges policy entrepreneurs. They promote ideas (through problem framing, timing, and narrative construction) and manipulate in order to ensure the receptivity of ideas. Although policy entrepreneurs play significant role, political aspects remains the most important element in the policy process. Keywords: policy change, ideas, idea-based approach, Kingdon’s multiple streams, policy entrepreneurs.

The present study investigates diffusion and adoption of corruption and factors that influence the rate of adoption of corruption in Ghana. In the current study, the diffusion and adoption of corruption and the factors that influence the speed with which corruption spreads in society is examined within Ghana as a developing economy. Data from public sector workers in Ghana are used to conduct the study. Our findings based on the results from One Sample T-Test suggest that corruption is perceived to be high in Ghana and diffusion and adoption of corruption has witnessed appreciative increases. Social and institutional factors seem to have a larger influence on the rate of corruption adoption than other factors. These findings indicate the need for theoretical underpinning in policy formulation to face corruption by incorporating the relationship between the social values and institutional failure, as represented by the rate of corruption adoption in developing economies.
