As youth civic engagement is widely considered important for social cohesion and democracy, concerns have been expressed regarding a perceived decline in civic and political engagement among young people throughout the western world. While research has shown that the social environment is influential in terms of the development of civic values, knowledge and behaviours among youth, limited research has been conducted on these issues in an Irish context. Drawing on survey research conducted with 167 young people aged 12–15 years in Irish secondary schools, this paper examines young people's civic attitudes and behaviours and how they are linked to their social contexts. Findings indicate that youth report high levels of social responsibility values but low engagement in both online and offline civic engagement. Furthermore, while parent, peer, school and/or community contexts were found to have a significant influence on youths' social responsibility values and offline civic behaviours, youth's online civic behaviours were not connected to these social environments. This study provides insights into the socialisation of civic values and behaviours among young people in Ireland and highlights the importance of investigating the link between the social context and different forms of youth civic involvement.

Abtract
The work manifests a first theoretical discussion framed in further research still in the process of healing knowledge and practices associated with plants in the region of “Guanacache” (northeast of Mendoza, Arg.), settlers from the 1990s came to personify a collective subject huarpe, with appreciation links biological, cultural and social continuity with the past indigenous populations. Under the assumption that the practices and transmitted knowledge involving the use of plants could not be referring only to natural elements formally ordered outside the social sense to give meaning and context, I propose from an ethnographic look to build the historical and contextual character acquire chañarales (native forests consist mainly of chañar: medicinal species botanically defined as Geoffroea decorticans) while tissue spaces of sociability in various ritual celebrations that take place: initiation of young people in the field, prosperity of future harvests, healing word to disease of plants and animals, among others. This article follows the study of Garriga and Melé (2004), which distinguishes four groups of corporate social responsibility theories, considering their respective focus on four different aspects of the social reality: economics, politics, social integration, and ethics. The first one focuses on economics. Here the corporation is seen as a mere instrument for wealth creation. The second group focuses on the social power of the corporation and its responsibility in the political arena associated with its power. The third group focuses on social integration. It includes theories which consider that business ought to integrate. In describing each theory, this article commences with an overview, followed by a brief historical background, including the milestones of its development. Then, it outlines the conceptual bases of the theory, concluding with a brief discussion on the strengths and weaknesses of each theory.

ABSTRACTThe new socioeconomic and cultural paradigm has brought a social discussion about the existence and transmission of human values. This concern has impacted on educational systems, where the social responsibility of education to encourage on young people values to promote a more just, equitable and tolerant world is highlighted. The aim of this paper is to analyze the possible complementarity between the models developed by Schwartz and Hall-Tonna for the measurement and the development of values. Both models provide a solid theoretical basis to work with values in education and, at the same time, there are empirical evidences that remark the contribution of these models in to the identification and development of values. Both models are described and instruments designed to identify values are analyzed comparing the similarities and differences between them to explore their interrelationship and practical application. The interaction between the two models could bring an approximation to the values from a mixed methodology (quantitative and qualitative), providing tools to recognize and work individual and group values in educational institutions.RESUMENEl nuevo paradigma socioeconómico y cultural ha traído consigo una discusión social entorno a la existencia y transmisión de valores. Contacto principal: [email protected]
