The purpose of this research is to find out how the Covid-19 pandemic can be used as a source of themes in the learning process in the Dance Composition course. The source of the theme is a part that must be known for students so that in the process of creating dance they can produce good and quality work, considering that the source of the theme is the basic foundation that leads to the formation of basic concepts in dance work. The method used is descriptive qualitative data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, literature study and recording. The result of the research that has been done is that the source of the theme cannot be formed if the source of the work and the source of ideas is not determined in advance. After both are found, students can determine the source of the story theme, and the source of the motion theme. Determining the source of the work, the source of ideas, the source of the theme of the story and the source of the theme of motion are parts that must be surpassed by students who take the dance composition course in the Performing Arts Education Study Program. The findings that have been made by students turned out to present interesting new ideas and creativity, even though the findings of the motion were simple ones.

(FKIP) Palembang PGRI University through its highest leadership in the faculty gave a letter of assignment to work on the Mars song FKIP PGRI Palembang University to one of the music art lecturers in the performing arts education study program named Silo Siswanto, M.Sn. Then the Mars song was finished on July 23, 2018 and was launched on July 31, 2018 in the FKIP University of Palembang PGIP judicial event held at the Science Center building at the PGRI University in Palembang. Regarding the form in the Mars song, of course, this song has pieces of melody that are often known by the term phrases or musical sentences that make up the song. while the accompaniment music is arranged in an orchestra format. The formulation of the problem. (1) What is the form of Mars FKIP University PGRI Palembang song. (2) How is the accompaniment of Mars FKIP Palembang PGRI University music with orchestra format. The results of the discussion FKIP march song has a poly metric musical form where the antecedent phrase and consequent phrase do not have the same number of bars for example period C has 9 bars consisting of the phrase d 4 bars and the phrase e 5 bars.</p><p><br />Keywords: Song Form, Mars Song, Orchestra</p>

Mengenai bentuk dalam lagu Mars tersebut, tentunya lagu ini memiliki potongan-potongan melodi yang sering dikenal dengan istilah frase atau kalimat musik yang membentuk lagu tersebut. sedangkan musik iringannya diarransemen dengan format orkestra. Adapun rumusan masalahnya. (1) Bagaimana bentuk lagu Mars FKIP Universitas PGRI Palembang. (2) Bagaimana musik iringan lagu Mars FKIP Universitas PGRI Palembang dengan format orchestra. Hasil pembahasan Lagu mars FKIP memiliki bentuk musik poli metrik dimana frase antecedent dan frase consequent tidak memiliki jumlah birama yang sama misalnya periode C memiliki 9 birama yang terdiri dari frase d 4 birama dan frase e 5 birama.</em></p><strong><em>Kata kunci </em></strong><strong><em>:</em></strong><em> Bentuk  Lagu, Lagu Mars, Orkestra</em>

Learning guitar in the Performing Arts Education Study Program (PSP) FKIP Untirta is an effort made by students to play an existing repertoire created by a composer. The repertory is studied gradually and continuously. From the beginning to the end of the repertory, students play with the techniques, dynamics, and tempo written from a repertory. This is a process that is carried out continuously by the students of PSP FKIP Untirta. The guitar learning process is certainly interesting to be used as a study. Given that there is no guitar learning in PSP FKIP Untirta that has made a scientific study material. This study used a qualitative method described descriptively to obtain data about educational values in classical guitar learning at PSP FKIP Untirta. This study will discuss the educational values that exist in classical guitar learning in PSP FKIP Untirta. The results of this study are as follows. Educational values in classical guitar learning at PSP FKIP Untirta (1) Discipline values; (2) the value of hard work; (3) the value of being used to reading; and (4) aesthetic value / taste.

Abstract The purpose of this study is to find out how the learning process of Etude Fifty Little Flute Studies is conducted in the flute instrument Major I course in the Music Education Study Program at FBS UniversitasNegeri Padang. This research is a descriptive analysis research by utilizing qualitative data. The implementation of Etude Fifty Little Flute Studies learning in flute instrument major I involved students of 2019 class who just took major I course which was played in 3 repertoires.The study examined the learning process of Etude Fifty Little Flute Studies Op 25 and Op 26 by looking for processes, learning experiences, and learning evaluations.Based on the results of learning conducted, Etude Fifty Little Flute Studies is very influential in the learning process.It is due to the fact that flute instrument major I studentsare still categorized as beginners and are new to the flute instruments and theoretical abilities such as using suspension, legato and staccato techniques.This is proven by students who carry out the process well and practice through the material given. Thus, these students get grades according to their processes.The relation between what is explained by the lecturer and the students theoretically and practically can be done well even though it is not that optimal because there is no direct control through face to face meeting.Keywords: Learning, Etude Fifty Little Flute Studies, Flute Instruments

Albiansyah Master of English Education Study Program, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University of JakartaEmail: [email protected] Jhoni Saputra Department of English Education, Islamic University of Indragiri This study was a Classroom Action Research that deals with story face strategy’s use to enhance the students’ reading comprehension of narrative text. The purpose of this study was to reveal the execution of story face strategy in the process of narrative text teaching and learning, and also to describe about reading comprehension of after using story face strategy in classroom. The participants were all students of grade X.2 grade of Miftahul Huda Sungai Luar. The instruments to collect qualitative data were observation sheet, interview, and field note. The quantitative instrument is reading comprehension test. On the basis of data analysis, it is found that Story Face Strategy enhanced students 'understanding of reading in narrative text. The improvements occurred in cycle 1 and cycle 2. The improvement of students’ reading comprehension is 59.4 (enough) to 71.7 (good). The result suggests that the use of the story face strategy to enhance students 'understanding of reading in narrative text is successful for grade X.2 students. The variables that alter the enhancement of the students depending on the results of the interview and observation indicate students' enthusiasm when using of story face sheets in the story face strategy.Keywords: story face strategy, reading comprehension, narrative text

Textbooks are one of the important components in language program. It plays significant roles to provide the basis for content of the lesson, the balance of skills taught and the kinds of language practice that students involve in (Richards, 2001). Due to this circumstance, the use of qualified and relevant textbook is highly required to facilitate learning and bring actual learning experience to students. In addition to the selection, the evaluation of the textbooks in EFL context are also at the utmost importance to evaluate whether a particular textbook used in the classroom is a good textbook or not. This study was aimed to evaluate the suitability of the Survival English textbook based on the Content and Contexts criteria of a good English textbook, which proposed by Mukundan (2011), Mukundan et al (2012) and Miekley (2015). The list of statements in a form of questionnaire were addressed to identify 50 students’ assessment of six topics being discussed in the textbook, which was supported by the qualitative data from the interview session. The results of the study were found substantial as the input to develop further Survival English textbook

The terminology of counterpoint comes from the Italian language “punctus contra punctum”. Counterpoint consists of two or more melodic lines. The basic counterpoint consisting of two melodic lines (it is usually called inventions two voices). In the study of counterpoint in Music Education Study Program at Performing Arts Faculty, Indonesia Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta, the researcher found that students facing the difficulty in making inventions two voices. Regarding solve the problem, the researcher using Sibelius software as a learning media. This research is a classroom action research with the aims to increase the learning result of students in learning counterpoint by using Sibelius software. The result shows that Sibelius software can simplify and accelerate in making two-part inventions. The data obtained from students’ result in making two-part inventions and questionnaires that distribute to students at the end of the semester. In the preliminary stage, the data showed that only 6 (16, 70%) out of 36 students got excellent marks. This percentage increases until the second cycle, there are 21 (58, 33%) out of 36 students got excellent marks. This result showed the increasing of student learning outcomes in study Kontrapung II by using Sibelius software on making two-part inventions.

Abstract: As a part of music theory, Counterpoint dealing with a combination of melody in contrary motion. It is focused on combining melody between cantus firmus and counterpoint. In learning counterpoint, there are two approaches which usually used, free Counterpoint and strict counterpoint (it is well known as species counterpoint). The free counterpoint method allows writing counterpoint melody without paying attention to Counterpoint rules. While in strict counterpoint does not give freedom to write counterpoint melody, hence in must follow Counterpoint rules. Based on an early observation of this study, it found that the free counterpoint method did not give a strong understanding of basic counterpoint to the students. It is showed that students are confused when they made a Counterpoint melody. They stated that they were confused about how to start the melodies and also how to develop their melody because they don’t have a strong basis of counterpoint rules. This research aims to analyze the role of species counterpoint in giving a rudiment to the students. Species counterpoint used here as a pedagogical tool, which makes students learned through several steps called species. This is qualitative research. The data acquired from observation and interviews during learning Counterpoint at Music Education Study Program, Faculty of Performing Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. The results showed that species counterpoint builds a strong fundamental theory in writing counterpoint melody. Moreover, it also helps students to increase their skills in writing a counterpoint melody.Keywords: Counterpoint, Cantus Firmus, Species Counterpoint, Melody. Abstrak: Kontrapung merupakan cabang dari Teori Musik untuk menyusun kombinasi melodi secara berlawanan antara cantus firmus dan counterpoint. Dalam pembelajaran Kontrapung terdapat dua pendekatan yaitu free counterpoint dan strict counterpoint (species counterpoint). Free counterpoint memberikan kebebasan dalam membuat melodi Kontrapung, sementara strict counterpoint harus mempertimbangkan berbagai macam kaidah dalam membuat melodi Kontrapung. Berdasarkan observasi awal, penggunaan free counterpoint dalam pembelajaran Kontrapung tidak memberikan dasar yang kuat untuk dapat membuat melodi Kontrapung. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, maka sebaiknya pembelajaran Kontrapung dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan species counterpoint. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan species counterpoint pada pembelajaran Kontrapung dalam membuat melodi Kontrapung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Data penelitian didapat dari hasil observasi dan wawancara yang dilakukan selama pembelajaran Kontrapung di Program Studi S-1 Pendidikan Musik, Fakultas Seni Pertunjukan, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Kontrapung dengan menggunakan pendekatan species counterpoint dapat meningkatkan pemahaman terhadap kaidah-kaidah Kontrapung dalam membuat melodi Kontrapung, selain itu pembelajaran Kontrapung dengan species counterpoint juga meningkatkan keterampilan dalam membuat melodi Kontrapung.Kata Kunci: Kontrapung, Cantus Firmus, Species Counterpoint, Melodi.

In order to improve the quality of learning English, especially listening skills, students of the English Literature Study Program and the English Language Education Study Program submitted  the research title "Improving the Skill of Student Multimedia Comprehension Listening Through Multimedia-Based Song Media." The specific objectives of this study were to: 1) improve listening skills in English-speaking students of the English Language and Literature Study Program at the Faculty of Letters of UMI; 2) developing listening learning models with multimedia-based song media. This research was conducted in the UMI English Literature and English Language Education Study Program at the Faculty of Letters with targeted results as follows: 1) in one year this was a valid draft model for learning listening with multimedia-based song media. The method used in this study is action research with a population of 156 students. This study produced a draft listening comprehension model, the results of the study showed that the learning process of Listening comprehension used multimedia-based songs with subtitles of positive student responses. From the questionnaire / questionnaire / close questionnaire shows ≥ 75% of students respond more easily and prefer the learning process to understand meaning and understand what is heard from native speakers in learning listening comprehension. This study recommends for listening lecturers to use songs as one of the media in learning that will improve student skills

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the implementation of Islamic Education Regulation Number 1429 of 2012 concerning Study Program Arrangements in Islamic Religious Colleges and their implementation at the Islamic Education Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah, Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) in Central Java, namely Islamic Education Study Program (PAI) and Education Management Study Program Islam (MPI).  This research is field research which using qualitative data. The results of the study found four main problems, namely: (1) Policy of Faculty of Tarbiyah at IAIN in developing PAI into the PAI Study Program and MPI Study Program; (2) The efforts of Faculty of Tarbiyah IAIN in developing theIslamic Education Study Program became the PAI Study Program and MPI Study Program; (3) Supporting factors and obstacles faced by Faculty of Tarbiyah, IAIN in developing the Islamic Education Study Program into PAI Study Program and MPI Program Study at Faculty of Tarbiyah IAIN; and (4) Impacts faced by the Faculty of Tarbiyah IAIN and Islamic Education Study Program in developing Islamic Education Study Program into the PAI Study Program and the MPI Study Program of the IAIN Faculty of Tarbiyah.
