Abstract: Undoubtedly, Robert (Bob) Pierce plays an important role and leaves deep impact, generally, in the world of leadership, and particularly in the world of Christian leadership. As a World Vision founder, Pierce leads with vision to God and heart aflame to those in need worldwide. However, this is not without sacrifice. Family and even himself become the polemics he committed throughout his leadership. The question that remains is ‘does Bob Pierce leads well’? By means of literary research, this article exerts to analyze Pierce’s leadership from three important aspects: his relationship with God, how he fulfils God’s vision through his leadership; his relationship with himself, how he regulates his struggles and turns them into opportunity and accomplishments in his leadership; and his relationship with the world, how he impacts bigger community through his leadership. Apart from the failings and success of his leadership, out of these three aspects, Pierce has left faith legacy and leadership that are precious, especially for Christian community, but also generally, for the world. Abstrak: Tidak diragukan lagi, Robert (Bob) Pierce memainkan peranan penting dan meninggalkan dampak yang mendalam di dunia kepemimpinan Kristen khususnya, dan dunia kepemimpinan pada umumnya. Sebagai seorang pendiri World Vision, Pierce menjalankan kepemimpinannya dengan visi yang melekat kepada Allah dan hati yang menyala untuk sesama yang membutuhkan di seluruh dunia. Tetapi hal ini bukan tanpa pengorbanan. Keluarga, bahkan diri sendiri menjadi polemik yang dipertaruhkan di sepanjang kepemimpinan ini. Yang mejadi pertanyaan ialah apakah Pierce telah memimpin dengan baik? Melalui metodologi penelitian pustaka, tulisan ini berusaha untuk mendekati kepemimpinan Bob Pierce dari tiga aspek penting, yaitu: relasinya dengan Allah, bagaimana Pierce mewujudkan visi Allah melalui kepemimpinannya; relasinya dengan diri sendiri, bagaimana Pierce mengolah pergumulan diri menjadi peluang dan kemenangan dalam kepemimpinannya; dan relasinya dengan dunia, bagaimana Pierce meninggalkan dampak bagi komunitas yang lebih luas melalui kepemimpinannya. Terlepas dari jatuh bangun kepemimpinan Pierce, dari ketiga aspek ini, ia telah meninggalkan legasi iman dan kepemimpinan yang berharga, secara khusus bagi komunitas Kristen, tetapi juga secara umum, bagi dunia. A novel titled BumiCinta written by Habiburrahman El-Shirazy takes place in the Russian setting, in which Russia is a country that adopts freedom. Russia with various religions embraced by its people has called for the importance of human freedom. Free sex in Russia is commonplace among its young people. Russia is a country that is free with no rules, no wonder if there have been many not embracing certain religion. In fact, according to data Russia is a country accessing the largest porn sites in the world. Habiburrahman in his Bumi Cinta reveals some religious aspects. He incorporates the concept of religion with social conflicts in Russia. Therefore, the writer reveals two fundamental issues, namely: 1. What is the characters' religiosity in the Habiburrahman El-Shirazy'sBumiCinta? 2. What is the characters' religiosity in the BumiCinta in their relationship with God, fellow human beings, and nature ?. To achieve the objectives, the writer uses the religious literary criticism based on the Qur'an and Hadith. It emphasizes religious values in literature. The writer also uses the arguments of scholars and schools of thought to strengthen this paper. This theory is then used to seek the elements of religiousity in the Habiburrahman El-Shirazy'sBumiCinta. In this novel, the writer explains there are strong religious elements and religious effects of its characters, especially the belief in God, faith and piety

AbstractIn this article, Lalsangkima Pachuau responds to contemporary accusations in India that Christian missionaries are forcing conversions, and thereby turning Indians away from their culture. While the Indian Constitution guarantees the right to "propagate" religion, and therefore to accept the movement from one religion (e.g. Hinduism) to another (e.g. Christianity), what is important to understand that "conversion" is not primarily a call to move from one religion to another--much less to abandon one's culture--but is a movement away from self and the "world" toward God. Conversion understood as "changing religions" is much more the product of seventeenth and eighteenth century evangelicalism than it is a true understanding of the Bible. Mission is always about conversion, and entails the invitation to enter the Christian community; such invitation, however, should always be distinguished from a proselytism that only focuses on a change of religious allegiance.

Talking about God can not be separated from the activity of human thought. Activity is the heart of metaphysics. Searching religious authenticity tends to lead to a leap in harsh encounter with other religions. This interfaith encounter harsh posed a dilemma. Why? Because on the one hand religion is the peacemaker, but on the other hand it’s has of encouraging conflict and even violence. Understanding God is not quite done only by understanding the religion dogma, but to understand God rationally it is needed. It is true that humans understand the world according to his own ego, but it is not simultaneously affirm that God is only a projection of the human mind. Humans understand things outside of himself because no awareness of it. On this side of metaphysics finds itself. Analogical approach allows humans to approach and express God metaphysically. Human clearly can not express the reality of the divine in human language, but with the human intellect is able to reflect something about the relationship with God. Analogy allows humans to enter the metaphysical discussion about God. People who are at this point should come to the understanding that God is the Same One More From My mind, The Impossible is defined, the Supreme Mystery, and infinitely far above any human thoughts.

<p class="ABSTRACT">This paper revealed the result of research regarding the position of teacher, focusing on the importance of empowering teacher of religious education in multicultural society, such as Indonesia. Methodologically, it is a qualitative undertaking of literary research. Employing the technique of content analysis this study scrutinized features of multicultural society, an exemplary profile of teacher of religious education, as well as how to empower this kind of teacher in order to fit in with a diverse society. The findings of this research are, multicultural society can be understood as a society which consists of several cultural communities with their overlapping but the distinct conception of the world, a system of meaning, values, forms of social organizations, histories, customs, and practices. The idealized profile of teacher of religious education is a type of teacher who meets the certain qualifications prescribed by Islamic teachings and guided by the law and regulation in Indonesia, in particular.  Teacher of religious education has a very important role in preparing students to be good citizens in a multicultural society. Therefore the teacher of religious education must have an awareness that he or she is part of a multicultural society. The teacher should be empowered to instill in his or her students an inclusive religious understanding to make them tolerant and respectful of other people of different cultures and religions, which is essential in order to strengthen harmony and national unity.</p><p class="ABSTRAK">Makalah ini mengungkapkan hasil penelitian mengenai posisi guru, berfokus pada pentingnya memberdayakan guru pendidikan agama dalam masyarakat multikultural, seperti Indonesia. Secara metodologis, ini adalah sebuah upaya penelitian literatur (kualitatif). Dengan menggunakan teknik content analysis penelitian ini menganalisa features  masyarakat multikultural, profil ideal guru pendidikan agama, serta bagaimana memberdayakan guru semacam ini agar sesuai dengan kondisi masyarakat yang beraneka ragam. Temuan penelitian ini adalah, masyarakat multikultural dapat dipahami sebagai masyarakat yang terdiri dari beberapa komunitas budaya dengan konsepsi yang tumpang tindih tapi berbeda tentang dunia, sistem makna, nilai, bentuk organisasi sosial, sejarah, adat istiadat dan praktek.  Profil ideal guru pendidikan agama adalah jenis guru yang memenuhi kualifikasi tertentu yang ditentukan oleh ajaran Islam dan dipandu oleh hukum dan peraturan di Indonesia, khususnya. Guru pendidikan agama memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam mempersiapkan murid-murid untuk menjadi warga negara yang baik di tengah masyarakat multikulural. Oleh karena itu guru pendidikan agama harus memiliki kesadaran bahwa ia adalah bagian dari masyarakat multikultural. Guru tersebut harus diberdayakan untuk menanamkan dalam diri muridnya pemahaman keagamaan yang inklusif untuk membuat mereka toleran dan hormat pada orang lain yang berbeda kultur dan agama, ini penting dilakukan agar dapat mempekuat harmoni dan kesatuan nasional.</p>

A multiplicidade e variedade dos serviços ministeriais que se fazem presentes na celebração litúrgica do povo de Deus é elemento chave na compreensão da comunidade cristã, pois os ministérios, em definitivo, exprimem e definem a própria realidade da Igreja. A inteira assembléia é ministerial porque a Igreja mesma é toda ministerial. E esta ministerialidade se expressa na liturgia através da diversidade de funções e ofícios que cada um é chamado a desempenhar. Ao contrário do que quase sempre sucede no mundo, porém, a hierarquia de funções na Igreja não denota prestígio e nem pode conduzir à acepção de pessoas. Ancorada na mais pura linha evangélica, deve ela indicar compromisso cristão e serviço fraterno em total doação a Deus e aos irmãos. Para uma reflexão sobre esta importante realidade eclesial, que a partir sobretudo do Concílio Vaticano II a Igreja tem aprofundado e se esforçado em viver, empreenderemos a seguir, ancorados em alguns textos litúrgicos, um estudo a respeito dos ministérios presentes no momento celebrativo da comunidade cristã. Publicamos aqui a primeira parte do artigo.ABSTRACT: The multiplicity and variety of ministerial services which are present in a liturgical celebration of the People of God is a key element in the understanding of the Christian community, since ministries, of themselves, express and define the very reality of the Church. The entire assembly is ministerial because the Church itself is all ministerial. And this ministeriality expresses itself in the liturgy through the diversity of functions and offices which each one is called on to fulfill. Contrary to what almost always happens in the world, however, the hierarchy of functions in the Church does not denote prestige, nor can it lead to the classification of persons. Anchored in the purest evangelical tradition, it should indicate Christian commitment and fraternal service in total self-giving to God and to others. For a reflection on this important ecclesial reality, which, especially from the Second Vatican Council, the Church has struggled to live out, we undertake a study – anchored in some liturgical texts – of the ministries present in the celebrative moment of the Christian community. We publish here the first part of the article.

Slavoj Žižek’s philosophy spans over more than three decades, which is confirmed by the numerous books he published since the late 1980s. Since his thinking about the idea of logos is no exception, this article focuses on what can be termed Žižek’s early philosophy, and especially that depicted in his The sublime object of ideology (1989) and The metastases of enjoyment (1994). Whilst the former underlines the psychological aspects of the logos, the latter focuses more on theories about being, as well as on theological considerations. This is why, three uses of the logos were identified in Žižek’s thought: psychological, ontological and theological, all three with a clear focus on the human being as conceived in modern thought, which for Žižek seems to be utterly opposed to traditional thinking about man and his relationship with God. It is clear from Žižek that whilst the notion of God does appear in this thought, it only refers to the human being which encapsulates the essence of Žižek’s philosophy to the point that the logos itself is a fundamental feature of the human being’s material existence in the natural world. Regardless of whether the logos points to psychology, ontology or divinity (theology), it always emerges as an idea which centres on the human being, with a special interest in how it exists as well as how it works in the world.

The specific conditions of architectural development in Lviv promoted the expansion of the Renaissance traditions in the architecture in the XVI century. The local traditions considerably influenced the classical forms as well as techniques suggested by the Italian architects. As a result, the architecture of Lviv had taken the peculiar features that reflected the character of an indigenous revival. A significant feature of a Renaissance townhouse in Lviv lies in its abundant decoration. as it was created according to the symbolic ideas and was filled with the philosophic content. The façade of Sholts-Volfovych apartment house situated in 23, Rynok Square in Lviv deserves special attention. The abundant exterior design includes the composition «Epiphany», located in the aedicule of the second floor. Using the principle of hermeneutics the article presents the author’s interpretation of a symbolic meaning of this sculptural composition, based on the Gospel texts and is connected with the Renaissance meditations about a human place in the world and his/her relationship with God.

Abstract This article argues that theology belongs in the university not because of its relationship to the other disciplines but because of its relationship to the church. It discusses Schleiermacher’s understanding of theology as a practical science oriented towards Christian leadership in society. It argues that Schleiermacher’s account provides an illuminating perspective on the history of academic theology in Australia. Theology belongs in the university not for any internal methodological reasons but because of specific contextual conditions in societies like Australia where Christianity has exerted a large historical influence. The article concludes by arguing that the ecclesial orientation of university theology is compatible with the aims of public theology, given that service to the Christian community is a means by which the common flourishing of society can be promoted.

The telegraph wove its way across the ocean at a time when religion’s role in public life was commonplace. Since then, networks have become more vital to everyday life in easily perceptible ways while religion is considered a less overt part of so-called secular public culture in the United States. The epilogue proposes that the relationship of telegraphic networks to the networks that shape our world today is not causal or continuous but one of resonance in which some elements are amplified and some are damped. The protestant dreams for the telegraph in the nineteenth century—particularly the promise of global unity, the celebration of unprecedented speed and ubiquity, and the fantasy of friction-free communication—reverberate in dreams for the internet and social media today. In cries that the internet makes us all neighbors reverberates the electric pulse of the celebrations of the 1858 cable’s capacity to unite the world in Christian community. And yet, it is not a straight shot from then to now. Some elements have faded, particularly overt religious motifs in imaginaries of technology. The original power of public protestantism in the first network imaginaries continues to resonate today in the primacy of connection.

‘The religions of Abraham: Christian understandings of God’ looks at Christianity beginning with its development from its Jewish Bible roots. Christianity began as one interpretation among many at that time of what it should mean to live in the Covenant relationship with God. Jesus' followers believed that Jesus, with whom they had lived and knew so well, was God in their midst. The Jewish understanding of God as One, the Creator of all things and of all people, did not change, but what did was their understanding of who God is and of how God is related to the world. The questions of Christology, Atonement, and the Trinity are then discussed.
