The article discusses the relevance of the use of the term minimalism to the music of the contemporary Russian composer Alexander Kneifel. The main attention is paid to the analysis of the work “Yes” (1980) for the instrumental ensemble. A detailed analysis, concentrated mainly around the timbre and tonal system, made it possible to identify significant structural features of musical composition. The observations made as a result of a “close reading” of the text are supplemented by several schemes. Kneifel's style is presented in the article through the prism of various musicological interpretations, Russian and foreign.

This article analyzes the application of rhetoric in institutional economics interpreted in various – evaluative, disciplinary, instrumental – aspects. When considering the rhetoric with the evaluative position the emphasis is done not on the positive and neutral, but on its negative – for the recipients – treatment. In terms of disciplinary or specific scientific fields, the main attention is paid to the system, as well as evolutionaryinstitutional approach. A detailed analysis of rhetorical instruments that serve as a tool for manipulating the target audience is done. On the example of the study of place and role of cultural code in economic research it is shown by which rhetorical means myths are introduced into scientific circulation.

The main attention should be paid to a detailed analysis and comprehensive study of the internal main factors and their interrelation, without which it is impossible to draw reliable and reasonable conclusions about the level and prospects of economic efficiency and safety of an industrial enterprise. The study of the influence of external and internal factors, the sustainable operation of the enterprise is very important, since it allows you to assess the degree of influence of these factors and take a set of operational measures aimed at eliminating them.

In this chapter the authors consider the problems of competence approach, the estimation and the control in world E-Learning Systems. The main attention is on the problem of the formation of evaluation competencies. We consider detailed examples showing how, at a certain stage, learning can be assessed in varying levels of competence. Based on a detailed analysis of the educational standard and assessment of proposed methodology, the authors formalize this assessment and express it by a mathematical formula. The problems of estimation and control are proposed to be solved using feedback based on sliding mode by Prof. Vardan Mkrttchian.

In Dan Voiculescu's choral compositions, music and poetry are particularly intertwined, the syncretism of the arts being a fundamental feature in the composer's approach to this type of repertoire. The more detailed analysis, with examples of excerpts from works from the volume Songs for Children, are convincing proof of the compositional mastery that is necessary for the succesful creation of a deep connection between musical construction and text. Even the choice of certain elements related to the mode of musical composition (subordinated to the melodic, harmonic, polyphonic, rhythmic, metrical, dynamic, formal structure, etc.) demonstrates the intrinsic nature of the connection between music and the message of poetic lyrics. At the same time, the capitalization of the Romanian folklore resources, the incorporation in certain works of some underlying influence from baroque music and the preoccupation of introducing innovations related to the singing technique of the choral repertoire on equal voices represent some of the multiple stylistic features reflected in this volume.

This chapter establishes that scholarly approaches to flâneurs have downplayed the broader impact of the urban experience on the senses and underappreciated their aural acuity. From the type's early formulations by Honoré de Balzac, Auguste de Lacroix, and Victor Fournel, the flâneur is attuned to city sounds, and flâneur-writing arranges them to portray the city as concert. The art of flânerie consists of transforming the empirical confusion of city sounds into a unified musical composition. As the clamor of the streets promoted selective hearing, street musicians were targeted as major contributors to the city as concert. Close readings of verbal and visual sketches by Delphine de Girardin, Maria d'Anspach, Bertall, and Old Nick show that class-biased ideas about concert music influenced their often humorous reactions to street noise; nevertheless, the neurasthenic bourgeois ear was often less than receptive to the intrusive noise of foreign street performers. In contrast, Victor Fournel waxed enthusiastic about the people's love of music. A close reading of his Ce qu'on voit dans les rues de Paris makes sense of his distinctive appreciation for street music.

This chapter explains the linkage between Shelley and Keats in the general culture since the 1820s. It then argues that this conventional pairing obscures the strong differences between the two poets in the nature and scale of their poetic achievement, and in their characteristic poetic styles and themes. This argument is exemplified through detailed analysis of the composition techniques of the two poets, with reference to the manuscript drafts that survive for The Eve of St Agnes and The Triumph of Life. The contrasting poetical manner of the poets is further examined in close reading of the opening stanzas of the ‘Ode on a Grecian Urn’, and the ‘Ode to the West Wind’.

The two figures of speech, «cлoвo c oглядкoй» [a word with a backward glance] and «cлoвo c лaзeйкoй» [a word with a loophole], can arguably be considered the apogee of Bakhtin’s creative analysis of language. This paper provides a detailed analysis of these tropes, commencing with a brief introduction to Bakhtin’s view of the utterance and parody. These short summaries are based on a close reading of Пpoблeмa peчeвыx жaнpoв [ПPЖ] and Из пpeдыcтopии poмaннoгo cлoвa [ИПpc] respectively. This introduction provides a platform for a detailed textual review of Bakhtin’s analysis of the two figures of speech in Пpoблeмы пoэтики Дocтoeвcкoгo [ППД]. The paper then explores the two figures of speech as exemplars of interdiscursivity by examining the way in which Bakhtin builds up his descriptive analysis of both «oглядкa» and «лaзeйкa», using examples from Poor Folk, The Double, Notes from Underground, The Idiot, and The Brothers Karamazov. The paper concludes that these tropes synecdochically represent Bakhtin’s constructs in a number of important domains: his philosophy of language, his philosophy of identity, as well as his literary theory.

Purpose of Article - description of the semantic features of the hard-and-heavy musical composition in artistic and pedagogical aspects - the following tasks are specifically applied: individual perspectives of the study of semantics in rock music; need an organization theme), describe the structure and semantic model of hard and heavy compositions. Methodology relies on an integrated approach with the use of system-structural, functional and comparative methods, which allows to explore the characteristics of musical composition's semantics in hardand-heavy at the intonational-thematic, genre, compositional levels. Scientific novelty consists in describing the models of the structural and semantic organization of hard-and-heavy compositions on the basis of a study of the processes of shaping, thematic and structural organization. Hard-and-heavy uses various types of forms - from simple to complex, mirror-symmetric, open, alternative, which are based on one of the three types of thematic organization: monoriff, polyriff, spiral. Structural models of hard-and-heavy musical forms emerge based on the interaction of genre features of vocal and instrumental music. Each structural model corresponds to a generalized semantic model with a specific range of values. The guiding lines for semantic interpretation are representations of typical forms. The semantic model of a typical hardand-heavy composition has several particular models that play the role of a meaningful scenario, define the functional and dynamic profile of the piece, and create the semantic field of this form. Semantic analysis of the rock-piece`s form, as a component of the operational level of artistic and pedagogical analysis, provides an awareness of the joint action of the means of musical expression in their interconnection and conditionality of content. It reveals the structural features of a piece of music, facilitating the process of perception and providing active influence of musical images on the listeners

The first two introductory chapters of De E apud Delphos are confusing from a chronological point of view. A close reading and detailed analysis, however, reveals that Plutarch hid a chain throughout this part of the text, by means of thematic and verbal connections. This chain highlights that every mystery related to Apollo raises wonder about the god that leads to philosophical discussions. These discussions never result in a full answer, but lead to a new mystery related to the god that will elicit new discussions. This not only shows that recent scholarship is correct in claiming that Ammonius’ lengthy reply at the end of De E is not the eventual solution to the meaning of the E, but also clarifies Sarapion’s precise function as Plutarch’s dedicatee.
