The article analyzes the subject of innovation as an independent scientific direction, which has its own subject of research. It is shown that in scientific literature on innovation, including monographs and textbooks, there is no distinction between traditionally economic problems and problems of innovation activity. At the same time, opposite processes are taking place: private issues of economics are included in innovation, but the concepts of political economy, which form the basis of the methodology of economics, are not used. As a result, questions that constitute the core of the theoretical problems of innovation remain outside the scope of attention. The general picture of ideas about the subject of innovation in scientific publications is shown. Opinions are expressed on the features of research methods of innovation. Some scientific and practical problems are presented, which should be responded by innovation.

This article is dedicated to the problem of the choice of name for a text semantic field formed within a literary text. The goal consists in determination of factors that hinder or preclude the naming of a text field. The subject of this research is the text semantic field observed particularly in the novels of F. M. Dostoevsky “The Idiot” and I. S. Turgenev “Home of the Gentry”. The author establishes that the text semantic field is closely connected to the contexts where elements of the field can be equitable, which complicates determination of the core and periphery of a text field, namely its name. In the course of research, the author applied the methods of analysis of scientific literature, interpretation of literary text as an aesthetic system, and method of semantic analysis. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that the author is first to discuss the question of difficulties of naming a text field using the materials of the novels “The Idiot”  by F. M. Dostoevsky and “Home of the Gentry” by I. S. Turgenev. The conclusion is made that in majority of cases a text field can be named by the most frequent element therein. At the same time, the name “Idiot” in F. M. Dostoevsky’s novel does not fully reveal the content of a text field. In some instances it is impossible to name a text field (as in the novel “Home of the Gentry” by I. S. Turgenev), since elements of the field deal with the equitable mutual implication.

The purpose of the article. To analyze the scientific literature related to the study of the elements of poetics of poetic works of S. Vorobkevych. To study the author's views on the form of a poetic text. Research methods are predetermined by the purpose and tasks of the work, the object of research and are complex. The hermeneutic method and comparative and comparative historical, biographical method makes it possible to find out the dependence of S. Vorobkevych’s views on poetics on the life basis. Scientific novelty. The realization of this task is also connected with the study of the writer's views on poetics. They may not always be correct, some judgments have undergone some changes chronologically, but their value in understanding the poetics of works is unquestionable. The writer mostly used the term "style", interpreting this category as a set of artistic means that distinguish the work of one author from another. S. Vorobkevych divided literature into poetry, prose and drama. He differentiated poetry into folk (folklore) and literary. He defined a literary work as a structure consisting of content and form. In the content segment, S. Vorobkevych defined a theme and an idea. In his own work, the writer described two themes: the theme of Bukovyna in various versions and the theme of the historical past of Ukraine. The poet defined the idea of a literary work as "pearl", "grain", "fruit". Conclusions. S. Vorobkevych’s arguments about the form of the literary work were important. The results obtained are an important material for expressing our knowledge of the poetics of S. Vorobkevych's poetic works; they are the material for comparison with the similar material on the artistic nature of Y. Fedkovych’s poetic works. Researcher might receive a general picture of the poetics of national poetry works in Bukovynain the second half of the nineteenth century on the basis of revealing common features, taking into account the data of other Ukrainian poets of the region of this period.

Innovation environments are places where open innovation and technology are boosted. The purpose of this paper is to present the evolution of innovation and technology environments through the most covered topics in the scientific literature. In this sense, technology transfer has been the subject of research since 1975; however, in the period from 2006–2021, the focus shifted to innovation. It was possible to observe an exponential growth of the term, “innovation”, but it is no longer the central theme and is linked to different terms related to different ways of innovating, characterizing open innovation variables. In this article, 4650 academic studies involving innovation environments were reviewed. The analysis identified the nomenclatures that characterized innovation environments and the particularities of these environments. The contributions, such as which countries developed more research in this area, and the analysis of which environments were more common in these countries were also presented. Additionally, some methodological and theoretical gaps in the current research were identified, providing pathways to support future research and practices seeking a better understanding and development of innovation environments. This article can also serve as a basis for a consultation for members of the quadruple helix, who wish to install or create environments for innovation and attract companies or investments to develop any open innovation activity.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the image of the traditional table (fyng) in the materials of the Nart epic of the Ossetians. The relevance of the problem under consideration is determined by the existence of the published extensive corpus of the Narts’ sagas. This provision allows, on the one hand, to fully derive the characteristic features of this object, and, on the other hand, to compare them with the data of archeology and ethnography. The scientific novelty of the work consists in an interdisciplinary approach to research, which is provided, inter alia, by materials first brought to analysis. The purpose of the study is to identify the magical and objective design features of tables as household items in comparison with real Alanian tables and genetically related tables of the Ossetians. When conducting the research, methods of textual research of sources, descriptive, typological and comparative research methods were used for photographic fixation of the studied objects, inductive and logical analysis based on the principle of historicism and systematic presentation. The study determined the presence in the epos of two types of ideas about the subject. The first endows it with magical properties of independent movement and providing treats when it is possible to increase the significance of the subject by attributing to it the manufacture of precious metals. The second reproduces the forms and structural details of the subject, which are reliably comparable with ethnographic and archaeological samples. Perhaps some of these details gave rise to ideas about some of the table's magical abilities. In addition, archaeological materials provide illustrative examples of the use of certain types of wood in the manufacture of tables. The attempts to interpret the image of the table from a mythological position due to the symbolism of forms and numbers noted in scientific publications seem at least premature.

“Young ladies don't understandpolitical economy, you know,” asserts the casually misogynistic uncle of Dorothea Brooke in George Eliot'sMiddlemarch(1871) (17; bk. 1, ch 1). Although Eliot's heroine resents both her uncle's remark and “that never-explained science which was thrust as an extinguisher over all her lights,” her attempt to teach herself political economy in the novel only seems to confirm her uncle's assessment (18; bk. 1, ch. 1): Dorothea gathers a “little heap of books on political economy” and sets forth to learn “the best way of spending money so as not to injure one's neighbors, or – what comes to the same thing – so as to do them the most good” (805; bk. 5, ch. 48). Naively likening “spending money so as not to injure one's neighbors” to “do[ing] them the most good,” Dorothea fails to grasp the self-interest at the core of nineteenth-century political economic thought and so misunderstands the subject matter before her: “Unhappily her mind slipped off [the book] for a whole hour; and at the end she found herself reading sentences twice over with an intense consciousness of many things, but not of any one thing contained in the text. This was hopeless” (805; bk. 5, ch. 48).

The past few decades saw the birth of the new science of genetics that can be used not only for medical purposes but also for the study of the past. Geneticists were quick to begin applying this science to the examination of Hungarian history, especially the subject of Hungarian origins. The purpose of this paper is to acquaint the reader with some of these studies. One study this paper will examine is itself a review of the scientific literature of early genetic studies on Hungarian origins. Other studies evaluated in this paper will be the English-language scientific publications of a team of Hungarian geneticists who over the last several years have studied the genetic inter-relatedness of 10th century and present-day Hungarian populations in the Middle Danube Valley of Central Europe. The paper comes to the conclusion that while very early genetic inquiries into Hungarian origins were often fault-ridden and are of little use now, more recent studies suggest that the currently held explanations of Hungarian ethnogenesis — especially the story of the so-called Hungarian conquest of the late 9th century — might very well be subjected to a fundamental re-assessment.

There was no statistical measurement of the debts that wracked the Greek and Roman economies, or of overall output, its distribution and value. We now have such measures, but can we say that mathematics provides the key to understanding the major economic problems of our time? More specifically, has the marginalist and monetarist application of mathematics become so nearsighted as to lose sight of the economy’s structural problems? The education of modern economists consists largely of higher mathematics, which are used more in an abstract metaphysical way than one that aims at empirically measuring society’s underlying trends If today’s economics has become less relevant to the social problems that formed the subject matter of classical political economy a century ago, its scope has narrowed in large part because of the technocratic role played by mathematics. This chapter explores whether this has been an inherent and inevitable development.
