The article is devoted to the analysis of the image of the traditional table (fyng) in the materials of the Nart epic of the Ossetians. The relevance of the problem under consideration is determined by the existence of the published extensive corpus of the Narts’ sagas. This provision allows, on the one hand, to fully derive the characteristic features of this object, and, on the other hand, to compare them with the data of archeology and ethnography. The scientific novelty of the work consists in an interdisciplinary approach to research, which is provided, inter alia, by materials first brought to analysis. The purpose of the study is to identify the magical and objective design features of tables as household items in comparison with real Alanian tables and genetically related tables of the Ossetians. When conducting the research, methods of textual research of sources, descriptive, typological and comparative research methods were used for photographic fixation of the studied objects, inductive and logical analysis based on the principle of historicism and systematic presentation. The study determined the presence in the epos of two types of ideas about the subject. The first endows it with magical properties of independent movement and providing treats when it is possible to increase the significance of the subject by attributing to it the manufacture of precious metals. The second reproduces the forms and structural details of the subject, which are reliably comparable with ethnographic and archaeological samples. Perhaps some of these details gave rise to ideas about some of the table's magical abilities. In addition, archaeological materials provide illustrative examples of the use of certain types of wood in the manufacture of tables. The attempts to interpret the image of the table from a mythological position due to the symbolism of forms and numbers noted in scientific publications seem at least premature.

Family issues and the topic of social family policy in Greece is the subject of researches by a number of Greek sociologists (V. Filias (Β. Φίλιας), G.-S. Prevelakis (Γ.-Σ. Πρεβελάκης), H. Simeonidou (Χ. Συμεωνίδου), G. Georgas (Γ. Γεωργάς), L. Musuru (Λ. Μουσούρου), L. Maratu-Aliprandi (Λ. Μαράτου-Αλιπράντη). It seems interesting and useful to consider the situation in Greece from the point of view of its ambivalent nature: traditional values and patriarchal order, on the one hand, and adherence to liberal European sentiments, on the other. In the modern world, there is a "reformatting of ideas about the essence of family and marriage" [Noskova A. V., 2017: 123], which leads, in particular, to the rejection of having children, to increasingly frequent divorces "for no reason", to irresponsibility in awareness roles in the family, to the vulnerability of socialization, to the infantilism of adults, to avoidance of awareness of problems of various kinds, to egocentrism. Modern Greece is not an exception. The growing number of single-parent families in cities, low birth rates, divorces, loneliness, depression are characteristic features of many families. This allows us to speak about the “crisis of the Greek family” [Γεωργάς, 2010]. This research may be of interest to specialists dealing with the topic of the family, and significantly supplement the existing research in the domestic sociological field.

The paper examines the influence of acmeistic patterns on V. Shalamov-poet’s artistic consciousness. The study involves Shalamov’s epistolary and memoirs heritage (letters to N. Mandelstam, N. Stolyarova, essay “Akhmatova,” etc.), where the author reflected on the significance of acmeistic literary tradition, as well as put forward his own understanding of acmeism — not only as an artistic direction, but also as a kind of “life teaching,” a worldview system. One may trace the inheritance of acmeistic principles in Shalamov’s work at different levels. The paper seeks to identify and systematize acmeistic influences in poet’s consciousness. First of all, we are talking about the installation on the “fight for this world” (according to S. Gorodetsky): the multifaceted representation of the phenomena of environmental reality in its colors, forms and subject details. Shalamov inherits this principle, so that the objects of reality play a paramount role in his poetry system and receive no less distinct and large embodiment than in the work of acmeists. Such an arrangement is carried out by Shalamov in contrasting aspects: on the one hand, the imprinting of terrible world in which man barely survives and to which he seeks to resist; оn the other hand, even in the most adverse circumstances of imprisonment, the poet saw and felt the harmony and greatness of nature. The connection with the acmeistic thinking in Shalamov’s works is also expressed in the fact that his images are almost always substantive and tangible (this feature manifested itself as early as in the first poem of “Kolyma notebooks”). As in the lyrics of acmeists, he often refracted the inner world through external, spiritual experiences — through the prism of the subject plan (the principle that was realized brightly in the lyrics of A. Akhmatova). It is not often that the reader finds “pure” lyrical monologues, much more typical for Shalamov`s creative tactics — to characterize the internal state through a chain of real images. Acmeistic logic could be traced in the interpretation of a number of important topics, among which the theme of creativity (characteristic features of its interpretation are shown in the article on the example of poems “Ode to Loaf,” “May it be clumsily uneven…,” “By ungainly prisoner step...”). The paper addresses such a significant aspect (also linking the poet to the acmeistic tradition) as a bodily nature of the figurative world. Finally, important feature of acmeistic thinking, which is inherited by Shalamov, is the obvious appeal of his creativity to the interlocutor, the focus on the reader (this feature is immanent, certainly, not only in the consciousness of akmeists, but it has fundamental significance in their creativity). The study concludes that among the traditions influenced Shalamov-poet, the acmeist becomes one of the most important, most significant artistic and worldview guidelines.

The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the functioning and creation of metaphors in the poetry of Oksana Zabuzhko, Yuri Izdrik and Serhiy Zhadan. The main contradiction in the understanding of metaphor lies in the ambiguous essence of this phenomenon: on the one and, metaphor is a means of speech, a linguistic unit, and on the other – it belongs to the figurative figures of language. A number of linguistic works in both Ukrainian and foreign linguistics are devoted to the study of metaphors. In particular, the language metaphor became the subject of scientific interest of N. Harutyunova; metaphor, its nature and role in language, and speech were studied by A. Gavrilyuk, the means of expression of metaphor became the main topic of research G. Sklyarevskaya and others. One of the important problems of linguistic stylistics is the study of the linguistic personality of writers, whose works are one of the stylistic sources of development of Ukrainian poetic language, so the importance of metaphor in poetic texts remains a relevant object of modern linguistic studies. The purpose of the article is to determine the features of semantics and the functioning of conceptual-semantic and structural-grammatical types of metaphors in the collections "Second Attempt" by Oksana Zabuzhko, "Quote Book" by Serhiy Zhadan and "Lazy and Gentle" by Yuri Izdryk. In accordance with the purpose, the following research methods were used: descriptive, using the methods of comparison and observation, as well as external and internal interpretation of linguistic material to determine the associations underlying metaphorical transference, contextual, conceptual and semasiological to analyze metaphor in the context of a poetry of postmodern writers. The article also clarifies the concept of metaphor and establishes its feature as a semantic linguistic unit. The focus is on the classification of metaphors used in the works of postmodern poets. The stylistic role and functions of language metaphors in poetic texts are investigated. This article can be used for further research in the field of conceptual metaphors in novel or poems.

The article analyzes the subject of innovation as an independent scientific direction, which has its own subject of research. It is shown that in scientific literature on innovation, including monographs and textbooks, there is no distinction between traditionally economic problems and problems of innovation activity. At the same time, opposite processes are taking place: private issues of economics are included in innovation, but the concepts of political economy, which form the basis of the methodology of economics, are not used. As a result, questions that constitute the core of the theoretical problems of innovation remain outside the scope of attention. The general picture of ideas about the subject of innovation in scientific publications is shown. Opinions are expressed on the features of research methods of innovation. Some scientific and practical problems are presented, which should be responded by innovation.

Purpose: to try to delineate the boundaries and formulate the characteristic features and signs of a "new normalcy", which, already taking shape today in the course of the ongoing development of the coronavirus pandemic, will in the long term be a determining factor for the further economic, political and social development of modern civilization. Methods: consists in a complex research paradigm, which includes the principles of systemic, theoretical-cognitive, institutional, instrumental and interdisciplinary approaches, mediated by the accepted in social science ideas about the relationship and interaction of subjective and objective factors in social processes with relative independence of the subject. Results: the general direction of the development of civilization will be the preservation, in the foreseeable future, of the requirements of social distancing and restrictions on cross-border mobility. Remote forms of work, low-contact manufacturing and the formation of Industry 4.0 will come to the fore in the economy. In society, there will be a need to revise modern social values, in the direction of the transition from the degree of satisfaction of individual and personal needs to the availability of such satisfaction as the main value. The central issue of post-image politics will be the question of whether the pandemic will bring about an anti-democratic rollback and an evolving authoritarianization of power, or, on the contrary, will become an impetus for the positive development of democracy, an increase in the role of civil society and the political participation of citizens. Conclusions and Relevance: with regard to the economy, society and politics, it is stated that, on the one hand, they will experience unprecedented transformational pressures under the influence of the ongoing pandemic crisis, but at the same time, they will face a choice – to maintain crisis stagnation hoping to “just survive” or perceive the crisis as source of new opportunities for development and progress.

This paper on engaged anthropology is focused on several issues which, on the one hand, define the characteristic features of this current of anthropology, and, on the other, allow us to reflect on how the social role of an anthropologist can be understood today. The author begins her remarks by pointing to the ambiguity of the term “commitment” and to some of the consequences. She compares Norbert Elias’s position with the ways of understanding commitment adopted by contemporary anthropologists. She draws attention to the basic epistemological problems of engaged anthropology in regard to understanding cognition processes, and above all in regard to understanding the position of the researcher and the subject. She is then able to comment on contemporary attempts to establish the nature of an anthropologist and his or her potential social role. At the same time, she points to similarities with earlier sociological and anthropological concepts, stressing that the project of engaged anthropology shows a particularly clear link between methodology and ethical reflection.
