The state of Sarawak is no exception to the Hadrah’s performance which has indeed been received in North Peninsular Malaysia such as in Perlis, Kedah, Perak and Penang. Hadrah performance is a form of public entertainment that is still widely welcomed. The performances are still being presented at weddings as well as in other occasions. Therefore, this study aims to analyse the implicit meaning behind the performance of Hadrah through the ethnography communication approach of S.P.E.A.K.I.N.G (for setting and scene, participants, ends, acts sequence, key, instrumentalities, norms, & genre) by Hymes (1972) as well as to exhibit other cultural elements that permeate in the performances of the state in Sarawak such as involve elements of metapragmatic, language and community as well as metaphors and languages that should not run in a performance. The data collection was carried out through two methods: library research and field research. The study found out that the performance of the Hadrah is not only a feature to entertain guests but rather implicitly because the selection of songs in the performance complements the aspects of advice and irony that should guide listeners especially newly married couples.

Ethnologists collect their data “in the field”, i.e. in the living environment of the examined, and not like other scientists in the laboratory, at home or in the library. Field research is the central method of the subject and includes various methods of data collection. The volume conveys basic knowledge of empirical data collection and thus serves as a practical guide – for both teachers and students. The authors, who all teach at German-speaking institutes, have gained experience with methods of data acquisition in different regions worldwide. The texts offer valuable help in the preparation of field research, give an overview of individual procedures and encourage closer examination of them. "In the field" the volume serves as a reference work, e.g. if unforeseen problems encounter, and encourages to try different methods. A practical guide for teachers and students of ethnology.

For more than a century, the state of psychology has been characterized as a crisis (crisis of methodology). The present state of social objects, acting for us as subjects of research, is characterized by increasing dynamism, variability. Modernity – in its typical objects, the circumstances of conducting research work (NIR) by ordinary researchers – is more often left out of the field of attention of methodologists and historians of science. Changes in the conditions for conducting research in modern organizations, which are already growing into a serious scientific and scientific-practical problem, we conventionally call «methods and methodology of field research». This problem is still masked and greatly smoothed out by the dominance in the domestic psychology of research on the model of educational groups (schoolchildren, students), that is, in relatively simple conditions. But the range of research and practical tasks is muchwider; obvious shift to surveys of mainly educational groups – displacement into spaces of «accessibility and comfort» leads to erosion of discipline. The purpose of our research is a historical and theoretical analysis of the methodological, methodological and organizational aspects of research in a modern organization. Methods are an analysis of scientific literature, psychodiagnostics, reflection of the experience of scientific and practical work of research institutes in modern organizations. It is summarized that (1) the state of the discipline methodology, the understanding of its method, subject and technology of conducting relevant scientific research, explanations of the results obtained are interconnected; 2) even under strictly specified diagnostic conditions, if administrative resources are available, methodological and methodic problems are preserved and reproduced; 3) diagnostics issues in the space-time of modern organizations transfer these difficulties into the status of «problems square», «problems raised to the third power»; 4) one of the least developed issues of psychodiagnostics is the question of «situation»

Purpose of the study: The purpose of the study is to bring forward the ground realities regarding the practice of counselling which was considered to be a sine qua non under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. The study reveals the actuality of how counselling remains an alien concept to the victims of marital abuse indicating that counselling is rarely done by the Protection Officers and as a consequence, the victims remain both ignorant as well as fail to reap the benefit of this method of resolution. Methodology: A plausible combination of doctrinal and empirical research is adopted. Doctrinal and empirical research involves in-depth study and analysis of available information in an attempt to explain the complex phenomenon. Through comparative analysis, proper reasoning has been tried to be brought to decode the practice of counselling in various states of India. The empirical research involves data collection from four different stakeholders such as; Judiciary, victims and Public. Modus operandi: Observation, questionnaire, interviews. Result: Through this paper, the authors have brought out the reality behind the policymaking and the implementation aspect of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, in the State of West Bengal. The research was conducted throughout six districts of West Bengal, especially focusing on the method of ‘counselling.’ The result that came out of the study revealed the lack of awareness of the victims about the practice of counselling’ and also that ‘counselling’ being the least favored relief granted by judicial officers. While on the other hand, the data on protection officers revealed their belief in the practice of ‘counselling’ which according to them helps in curbing the menace of domestic abuse. Implications: The study brings to light the gap between the provisions of the law under the PWDVA, 2005, and its practice in actual cases, particularly in West Bengal and requires a re-visit by the policymakers to reconsider the grand ideas set out in the Act and their practical implementations in our society. Novelty: The study was conducted in six districts of West Bengal, and is a first of its kind. The questionnaires have been prepared by the authors themselves and the answers have been obtained by personal visits to all the stakeholders mentioned in the article. A research of this kind has not been conducted previously in the State of West Bengal, making the data collection and analysis original. Apart from the field research, the researchers have referred to various primary and secondary documents to understand the background of the phenomenon of domestic abuse, for which reference has been given.
