The research problem is that the community is less motivated to carry out the culture of Mitoni, even though the program is very meaningful for the mother and child in the womb. Pregnancy is believed to be the phase in which the prospective baby has begun to interact with the surrounding environment through an intermediary of a mother. Psychic relationship between mother and child has begun to be closely intertwined from this phase. For the people of Java, especially in the regions of Yogyakarta and Surakarta, mitoni culture is still widely practiced. Pregnancy is part of a human's life cycle. Method research kualitative Therefore, the existence of the prospective baby is always celebrated by the people of Java with a ritual called Mitoni, derived from the word pitu or seven. That's because the mitoni is held when the age of the womb enters the seventh month This ritual is intended so that prospective babies and mothers always get safety. The purpose of this article is for Indonesians to preserve this culture as gratitude to God Almighty Keywords: Slametan, Ceremony, For Seven Months Pregnant

The presented story, which the reader and the reader will find in the text (when I am silent), comes from interviews collected during my research in the Netherlands in 2013. The research problem I chose at that time – the issue of the identity of Tamils from Sri Lanka in the Netherlands – I decided to investigate using a modified version of the biographical method, which is increasingly used in sociological research. Such a model of analysis is common today also in studies on migration processes, and especially in studies on the problem of refugee. Using this method, in the analytical part, I present the refugee life cycle based on the schema of the rituals of passage by Arnold van Gennep. Therefore, I use a model drawn from anthropological research, namely the pattern of individuals going through certain stages in their development and in the process of social functioning. After the first part, where I outline the research methodology and the main theoretical assumptions, I provide a first-person narrative of one of the people who left Sri Lanka, and her life was inextricably intertwined with the local nearly 30-year civil war.

Kata Kunci: Pendalungan, imajinasi, identitas, wacana ABSTRACT The research problem formulated within this study is the question of why the pendalungan discourse was repreatedly surfaced and how is the influence of power/knowledge from the other side of this very discourse. This study seeks to unfold the essence of power/knowledge in forming the identity of the people of Jember through the pendalungan discourse as well as to provide an elaboration of the resulted effect from said discourse. The theoretical implication of this study would be the development of anthropological studies concerning the identity and influence of pendalungan, particularly on the formation of identity through the approach of power/knowledge discourse. As for the practical implication, the outcome of this study could serve as a form of valid recommendation both for the people and government in pursuing the development of the identity of Jember people. Drawing upon artists, academics, and historians as the population, this study made use of qualitative approach as the main method as well as literature review and interview as the instrument. A number of variables involved within this study were identity, imagination, and multiculturalism. The result of the study revealed that identity is not to be regarded as an entity born from a harmonious and balanced situation, rather, from an atmosphere that is full of struggles, contestation, clashes, conflicts of arguments and discourse, frictions between parties, dynamics, as well as productivity. From this point, this study embarked upon a conclusion that identity is not something that is fixed or rigid, but flexible and diverse. Keywords: Pendalungan, imagination, identity, discourse

Kartini's complex thinking about her nation was the result of observations and experiences that she experienced empirically. But Kartini's ideas about religion were explicitly influenced by the surrounding environment, both European and indigenous people themselves. This study focuses on the reconstruction of Kartini's thinking in the field of religion and the social background of the emergence of this thought. Therefore, this study uses historical methods with a social history approach to identify Kartini's ideas in the religious field. The reconstruction of her ideas as one of the national integration efforts that cannot be separated from the influence of the religiosity and social background of the people around her. Kartini's thinking about religion was critical, open, and pluralistic, which was concerned with the division of the nation due to religious differences.

<p>This research tested the new LCAQuick Residential, a computer-based analysis tool developed by BRANZ (available from www.branz.co.nz). This tool is designed to allow the ready preparation of a LCA at an early point in the design process for a residential house. The research problem was created by the infancy of the program and its unknown ability to produce results to support decision making to include Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) for designers and developers seeking a more sustainable design outcome.  The method of testing was to take a real house design and model it using Autodesk Revit™ to create a virtual model. The virtual model was then used to input material quantities into LCAQuick Residential, which in turn generated a full set of Life-Cycle Energy (LCE) data. To test this approach, the data from a Quantity Surveyor (Schedule of Quantities) was also used as input to LCAQuick Residential, and the results compared. For this research on the energy component of LCA was examined – the LCE.  It was found that the material quantities generated by each of the approaches differed, and it was necessary to critically compare them to ensure material volumes, density and quantity were appropriately matched and entered into the tool. Considerable care was also required to ensure materials were correctly identified and allocated to the appropriate LCAQuick library material.</p>

Religious ceremonies that are usually carried out by Javanese are inherited from the ancestors. There are two types of religious ceremonies in the form of salvation in Javanese society, namely life cycle salvation ceremonies and Islamic religious holidays. The research aims to find an understanding of the traditions of religious ceremonies and social processes for Muslims in Karangrayung District, Grobogan Regency. Data collection methods were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. After that, the data is analyzed qualitatively-descriptive-interpretative. The results showed that there were seven religious ceremonies and social processes which until now were still commemorated by the Karangrayung people, namely: Sura (Muharam), Rajaban selametan, Mauludan selametan, Selametan Ruwahan, Selametan Likuran, Selametan Bodonan, and Selametan Besar which were held on the 10th Zulhijjah. The perception of the people of Karangrayung on religious ceremonies and social processes is a form of virtue that is recommended by Islamic teachings that contain values: 1) charity, 2) ukhwah Islamiyah, 3) help, and 4) share with others

This chapter describes a framework for managing the life cycle of knowledge in global organizations. The approaches described in this chapter were initially used to successfully build a knowledge dissemination system for the laboratories and facilities that are under the direction of the United States Department of Energy (DOE) (Salisbury & Plass, 2001). The follow-on work to this effort was the development of a collaboration application that fed the dissemination system for the DOE laboratories and facilities. The resulting system managed the life cycle (creation, preservation, dissemination and application) of knowledge for the DOE laboratories and facilities (Salisbury, 2003). While seen as a highly successful system, a significant problem was the difficulty in identifying the right knowledge that needed to get to the right people at the right time. This is also a significant problem for global organizations that need to share their knowledge across international boundaries. What is needed to solve this problem for global organizations is a systemic way that can be applied as an organizational strategy to identify this knowledge, the people that needed it, and the time it should be accessible. This chapter focuses on the use of performance objectives for managing the “right” knowledge in a global organization. In the next section, the background of the projects that inspired the framework is introduced. Next, the framework itself is discussed: the theoretical foundation for the framework, Work Processes, Learning Processes, and Methodologies for managing the life cycle of knowledge in a global organization. (For a full discussion of this approach in book form, see Salisbury, 2009).

Organisational systems come in many different formats and ownerships. The essential characteristic of any system is that it must have a system purpose which it exists to fulfil. For organisational systems, the various components, that is the people working in the system, must know and understand what that purpose is and their role in its fulfilment, as well as the system’s relationship with the macro system within which it operates. Such organisational systems are essentially dynamic, progressing through a system life cycle of essentially unpredictable stages, but with certain predictable changes occurring at each phase change. Effective system coordination depends on the coordinator fully understanding the system operations and how it relates to its various environments. System ownership is external to system operation and has no direct engagement with coordination and control. The importance is noted of real competition to systems serving the progressive-competitive economy and the failure of pretend competition being imposed on systems serving the social-infrastructural economy.

Additive manufacturing (AM) is a group of technologies that create objects by adding material layer upon layer, in precise geometric shapes. They are amongst the most disruptive technologies nowadays, potentially changing value chains from the design process to the end-of-life, providing significant advantages over traditional manufacturing processes in terms of flexibility in design and production and waste minimization. Nevertheless, sustainability assessment should also be included in the research agenda as these technologies affect the People, the Planet and the Profit: the three-bottom line (3BL) assessment framework. Moreover, AM sustainability depends on each product and context that strengthens the need for its assessment through the 3BL framework. This paper explores the literature on AM sustainability, and the results are mapped in a framework aiming to support comprehensive assessments of the AM impacts in the 3BL dimensions by companies and researchers. To sustain the coherence of boundaries, three life cycle methods are proposed, each one for a specific dimension of the 3BL analysis, and two illustrative case studies are shown to exemplify the model.
