Effects of Tourists’ Trust on Behaviour Intention in the Thai Tourism Market: Mediating Effects of Perceived Authenticity

Objective – The increasing growth of the Thai tourism market has resulted in international tourists flooding into Thailand and providing significant economic benefits for the country’s tourism development. The purpose of this research is to examine a comprehensive model for Thai tourism. This study aims to investigate how tourists’ trust can enhance their behaviour intentions in travelling to Thailand through perceived authenticity. Methodology/Technique – The research tests a model linking trust to authenticity, and behaviour intention to current Thai tourism. Using a convenience sampling method, a sample of 453 international Asian tourists who travelled to Thailand were surveyed. Findings – The findings show that different levels of trust directly influence tourists’ behavioural intentions, trust influences perceived authenticity, perceived authenticity further affects behaviour intention, and perceived authenticity mediates the relationship between tourists’ trust and their behavioural intention. Moreover, demographic factors moderate the effects of trust on tourists’ perceived authenticity. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the burnout levels of music teachers and their personalities. The research consisted of 278 music teachers who were selected from various places throughout Turkey via subjective, convenience sampling method. For data collection, the ‘Personal Information Form’, ‘Adjective Based Personality Test’ and ‘Maslach Burnout Scale’ were used. The research involved both quantitative and qualitative dimensions. The data were analyzed by quantitative t-test, multiple regression analysis and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Data for the qualitative dimension of the research were obtained from semi-structured interviews conducted with 5 music teachers. Negative, significant relationships were determined between extroversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness, openness and general burnout, while a positive, significant relationship was determined between neuroticism and general burnout. The burnout variable was found to have a statistically significant effect on the openness, neuroticism and conscientiousness dimensions of the personality types. The effects of conscientiousness and openness dimensions were not, however, found to be significant. The music teachers who had characteristics of extroversion and conscientiousness were found to have higher levels of burnout if they have the characteristics of neuroticism that reduce their exhaustion. The findings of the research show that the effect of personality types on burnout is important.

Objective – This study investigates the mediation role of job satisfaction in the relationship between work stress and turnover intention. A study about turnover intention in the textile company is still rarely done in Indonesia. This study can fill the gap regarding the topic. Methodology/Technique – A nonprobability sampling method with an accidental sampling technique was used, and we get 110 usable responses from a textile company in West Java, Indonesia. Macro Process with SPSS was used to measure the regression and the mediation. Findings – The study found that work stress has a negative effect on job satisfaction. Work stress significantly related to turnover intention in a positive direction. Job satisfaction did not have a significant relation with turnover intention. Thus, in this study, we found no mediation role in job satisfaction. Novelty – Evidently, work stress solely took part in shaping the turnover intention. Type of Paper: Empirical. This research was conducted for analyzing the effect of mediating variable that is individual task proactivity as one of the proactivities of behavior towards the relationship between self-efficacy and the employees’ performance in the logistics companies of shipping the goods. It uses convenience sampling, which is a non-probability sampling method for getting the sample of 52 employees. They were divided into two divisions, namely infrastructure and quality assurance. The questionnaire consists of two parts, in which some were assessed by themselves and others that were assessed by the supervisor. They were analyzed using path analysis using analytical tools developed by Hayes, Preacher-Hayes with the simple mediation models. It was found that employees have self-efficacy, individual task proactivity, and relatively high performance, in which individual task proactivity can be a mediating variable on the effect self-efficacy on performance.

Xishuangbanna is the most important tropical rainforest region in southwestern China, with important ecological and economic value. In order to obtain the huge economic benefits of planting Pu’er tea, the local people often use the method of ‘annular barking’ for the trees suitable for planting tea trees, so that the tea trees can absorb more nutrients and thus obtain higher economic benefits. In this paper, random sampling method is used to collect data of 12 species of trees totaling 1753 samples in Xishuangbanna where cases of barking happen frequently. By collecting the data such as the year of barking, the growth environment of trees and the growth potential of trees, using linear regression analysis, a regression equation for the tree growth potential and the year of the barking. Through analysis, it is found that the growth potential of the barked trees is negatively correlated with the years after being barked, and the regression equation for the relationship between survival rate and years after being barked is: Y=46.366-8.289x. The conclusion of this study will provide evidence of the tree damage and deaths caused by barking for forest police in Xishuangbanna, and provide strong theoretical support for the effective fight against criminals.

A cultural landscape, a configuration produced by human actions and cultural structures in a physical setting, has a significant role to play as a vital feature of cultural tourism in Bali. However, this configuration has become the most heavily commoditized elements of the development of tourism. Construction of tourist amenities has exploited the notion of a cultural landscape that has been integrated into cultural practices, the environment and agriculture. This development and planning are a paradoxical phenomenon and a challenge for people to retain the identity of their cultural landscape while also seeking economic benefits from tourism. The struggle between the protection of the identity of the cultural landscape translated and manifested in the context of agriculture and its transformation in the context of designing tourist facilities has shaped the fundamental argument for preservation. Since there are different cultural traditions and practices in many Balinese cultural landscapes, the relationship between tourism and the diversity of cultural areas has become a key objective in the development of tourism and planning tourist facilities. This paper explores the current struggles between the concepts of tourism development and planning, and the conservation of Bali's cultural landscape. The paper argues that the focus of Bali's tourism development is to maintain and reinvigorate the integration of natural landscapes and cultural practices that present a persistent link between the agricultural system and religious practices.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the experiences of mentors and mentees with regard to the mentoring relationship in the South African organisational context. A convenience sampling method was used to involve mentors and mentees as participants (N = 10). Qualitative methods were used to collect and analyse data on the respondents’ experiences of the mentoring relationship. It was found that both mentors and mentees tend to prefer informal mentoring relationships because of the factors that contribute to the quality of the relationship. The implications of the findings are discussed.

Religiosity and love of money plays an important role in determining individual compliance with tax regulations in developing countries. This research examines the influence of love of money and religiosity on tax evasion. In addition, it studies the relationship between love of money, religiosity, and tax evasion based from a gender. The research data were obtained from 8 private universities in Special Region of Yogyakarta with 207 samples and it uses convenience sampling. The number of samples was determined by convenience sampling method. Analysis data uses regression analysis. The results indicate that love of money has significant effect on tax evasion, while religiosity has no significant effect on tax evasion. There is significant difference between love of money and tax evasion from a gender perspective. The conclusion of this research is tax evasion in Indonesia determined by love of money and not given by religiosity. Moreover, sex is not an indicator in tax evasion and love of money.

It is proven true that the main subjects addressed by every service industry nowadays are service quality and customer satisfaction. Hence, virtuous customers’ evaluation of services is crucial for the firms. Delivering good quality service is leading to attain today’s competitive environment. This study attempts to assess the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction in the hotel industry in Malaysia. SERVQUAL model of service quality has been used to measure the relationship between three independent variables namely Tangibility, Reliability and Responsiveness and a dependent variable that is customer satisfaction. A number of 217 hotel guests in a three-star hotel in Kuala Terengganu were selected as a sample by using a convenience sampling method. The questionnaire was used as a research instrument in a survey approach. The findings indicated that all three dimensions of service quality have a positive relationship with customer satisfaction. Responsiveness seems to be the most significant factor in satisfaction. This study contributes to the enhancement and standardization of service quality management in firms especially the hotel industry in Malaysia. The findings would offer better understanding and recommendations for hotel management transformation and practices.

This study examines the relationship between humor, emotional intelligence and personality types. Based on the limitations of various studies on humor it is important to agree with intelligence as well as the type of ownership they have. This is because considering subjects who have certain personality types will choose a different style of humor. Personality in this case is OCEAN consists of five type, those are openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness dan neuroticism.  Humor consist of three types, those are cognitive humor, neutral humor, and violence humor. Likewise, emotional intelligence possessed by individuals will determine how each of them use humor in everyday life. Youth research subjects from several schools and universities. The sampling method uses convenience sampling technique. Respondent in this research is 1000, consist of male 425 subject (42,5%) and female 575 subject (57.5%). This research produces findings that show a significant relationship between variables and the greatest value in agreeableness personality with emotional intelligence in r = 0.265, p = 0.000 <0.05. The next significant relationship is cognitive humor with emotional intelligence in r = 0.083, p = 0.009 <0.05. The last significant relationship is neutral humor with consciousness personality in r = 0.119, p = 0.000 < 0.05.

Organizational voice and silence are multidimensional concepts located at two different poles. While there are studies in the literature examining the relationship between organizational silence and loneliness, there are not enough studies on the relationship between organizational voice and loneliness. Within the scope of the “exit, voice and loyalty” model of Hirschman (1970), employees give various reactions to negativities. In this study, the effects of loneliness in the workplace on organizational voice were examined within the scope of the responses of the employees. In line with the purpose of the study, a questionnaire was applied to 330 employees working in Ankara using the convenience sampling method. In the study, "Workplace Loneliness Scale" and "Organizational Voice Scale" were used. Within the scope of the study, the data were analyzed using SPSS 24 and AMOS 24 programs. It was determined that the fit values of the model (CMIN\DF=2.192; GFI=0.879; AGFI=0.848; IFI=0.927; RMSEA=0.060) were found to be between acceptable values. As a result of the analyzes, the emotional deprivation sub-dimension has a positive relationship on the defensive voice (β=.624, p<0.001), while social companionship sub-dimension has a negative relationship on the acquiescent voice (β=-.434, p<0.001) and prosocial voice (β = -.787, p<0.001). In addition, significant differences between variables according to demographic characteristics were examined and recommendations were made for future studies.
