Introduction. Investment and innovation activities can provide not only the functioning and growth, but also the development of business entities that are in line with the Strategy of Ukraine 2020 and adopted for implementation of the innovation and investment model of economic development. Management decisions as for the increase of the rate of investment and innovation activity are indicated in the program document "Ukraine 2030.doctrine of balanced development". It is advisable to make such decisions on the basis of a timely and reliable assessment of the state and results. Purpose. The article aims to identify the main trends and peculiarities of the course of investment and innovation activity in the external and internal environment of industrial enterprises. Method (methodology). The investment and innovation activity of industrial enterprises depends on a large number of factors, both internal and external. Factors of the external environment are such that practically do not depend on the enterprise and its influence on them is minimal. The factors of the internal environment directly depend on the activity, organizational structure of the enterprise, etc. In the economic literature you can find a significant number of classifications of factors that affect the investment and innovation activities of the enterprise. It has been carried out the analysis of sources of financing of innovations, the share of financing of capital investments at the expense of own funds of the enterprise in the total amount of sources of financing and at the expense of depreciation deductions of the enterprise; indicators of product updates. The specific weight of investments in innovation in total capital, in equity, has been determined; the share of research and development expenditures in the total amount of expenses for innovation, expenses for machinery, equipment and software, connected with the introduction of innovations in the total amount of expenses for innovation; the share of own and budgetary investments in technological innovations in the total amount of expenses for innovation; the share of investments of domestic and foreign investors in the total amount of expenses for innovation. Results. The main tendencies and features of the course of investment and innovation activity in the internal environment of industrial enterprises have been revealed. The obtained values of the indicators reflecting the peculiarities of the course of investment and innovation activity of enterprises have proven that the general tendency of investment and innovation activity for all analysed enterprises emphasizes the insufficient attention to the results of investment and innovation activities that impede their development and competitive opportunities. SWOT-analysis of investment and innovation activity of regional industrial enterprises at the microeconomic level has been conducted. The main disadvantages have been determined. They are the out-dated fixed assets, lack of certainty of the company regarding long-term benchmarks and strategies for its development, lack of own funds required for innovation-oriented investment projects at enterprises, low level of solvency of enterprises, lack of competence of specialists for successful investment and innovation activities.

Within the framework of analysis of innovative processes of an enterprise, the role of innovative activity as an indicator of effective management becomes obvious. The authors listed the main economic principles that affect innovation activity in general, briefly described them, then analyzed the dependence of innovation activity on various factors and proposed several ways to classify them. The possibility of changing the internal content and the transition of factors from one category to another was noted, and typical examples were given. In more detail, the key factors that have a major impact on the management of innovation activities, in particular the fourth industrial revolution, were considered. The authors showed the historical heritability of industrial revolutions from the first to the fourth (the introduction of the steam engine (the essence of the beginning of labor automation) develops into conveyor production, which with the next stage is transferred to the monitoring and full control of information systems with elements of artificial intelligence), demonstrated the development of features characteristic of sequential mechanization and automation. Based on the available results of the digital revolution and the existing promising developments, the authors conducted a SWOT analysis of the likely factors of innovation activity arising from the onset of Industry 4.0. In order to maintain high innovation activity, they justified the need to develop an action plan in case of the most likely threats.

At the present stage of the development of innovative activity of industrial enterprises, it is necessary to implement measures, the implementation of which is, first of all, the creation of an innovative reserve characterized by innovative potential. The approaches presented by the author to the structure of the elements of the innovation potential, firstly, allow us to identify the missing elements in its composition, secondly, to determine the level of development of these elements, and thirdly, to formulate proposals to eliminate the shortcomings. Currently, the state has initiated a number of federal programs that are aimed at forming and supporting the development of innovative potential both at the level of enterprises, regions, and the state as a whole. The key direction that determines the possibility of achieving the goals in these sectors is the development of personnel component of the innovative potential of domestic enterprises. The analysis of the conditions for the formation of the innovative potential of domestic industrial enterprises allows us to judge the unsatisfactory form of its innovative development, in which there is a significant gap between the requirements of innovative activity, as well as the requirements of the external and internal environment, the ability to adequately respond to the factors of influence. In this regard, in order to develop the innovation potential, the author proposes the structure of its elements and the analysis of the factors influencing the innovation activity of industrial enterprises, as well as bringing it into a balanced state of its external and internal environment. As the main tool for the development of innovative potential and bringing it into a balanced state, organizational and managerial factors are used to increase the efficiency of innovation activities and ensure the activation of the innovative potential of industrial enterprises.

To solve the problems of stimulating the development of innovative activity of domestic enterprises, a number of regulatory acts have been developed in Ukraine today that regulate relations in the sphere of investment in innovation. National legislation defines the following forms of investment of innovative activity: state (municipal) investment, commercial investment, social investment, foreign investment, general investment. In order to receive financial support, the subjects of innovation activity whose innovation projects are listed in the State Register of Innovation Projects shall submit to the State Innovation Financial-Credit Institution (its regional branches) innovative projects and all necessary documents, the list of which is determined by it. The subject of innovative activity, the innovative project of which has been competitively selected, may receive one or more types of financial support from the innovative financial-credit institution, depending on the competitive procedure established by the competitive procedure. Financial support for the implementation of innovative projects can be provided in the form of successive tranches as a result of monitoring the progress of project implementation. The analysis of the structure of state financing of innovation activity by types of economic activity of subjects of innovation in 2018 allows to determine the priority branch of chemical and petrochemical industry. Investing of own funds of subjects of innovative activity is realized through capital investments and financial investments. Structural analysis of sources of financing of innovative activity in Ukraine allows to distinguish the overwhelming share of own funds of the enterprises in the total volumes of financing of their innovative activity. But in the conditions of insufficient level of state support of innovative activity of enterprises and instability of their financial results, as the main source of own funds for investing, the role of financial and credit providing of investments by the subjects of the financial market significantly increases.

This task can be fulfilled provided the concept of constant economic growth is formed in the activity of enterprises, which can be implemented through the management of changes in the economic activity of enterprises. One of the components is the marketing activity, which plays one of the leading roles in shaping the sustainable development of an industrial enterprise when carrying out transformational changes in its activity. These changes, which are the re-engineering of business processes, help the company management adapt to the changing market (marketing) environment and optimize the internal business processes. The relevance of the research is undeniable. The article presents the main directions of transition to the effective marketing activity in the period of re-engineering of industrial enterprises’ business processes based on the analysis of the main trends of marketing and innovation activities of economic entities from different countries. The authors developed the indices that characterize the marketing potential of the company during the business processes’ re-engineering. They proposed to use an integral index of the company’s marketing potential during radical transformations and to take effective management decisions based on the prevailing range of its criteria values when carrying out an economic estimation of the company’s marketing potential in the period of business processes’ re-engineering. The results obtained from the calculations demonstrate the final estimation of the industrial enterprise’s marketing potential during the business processes’ re-engineering, which allows the top management of the industrial company to determine the level of performance of the company marketing activity and make sound managerial decisions for its further development.

The article deals with the peculiarities of the formation of innovation-investment policy at industrial enterprises. The paper emphasizes the fact of the lack of institutional support of innovative activity of Ukrainian’s enterprises, which is the reason why there is a lack of a national innovation priorities concept and a systematic approach to the development of innovation activity. The requests of substantiation of optimal development models are investigated; the principles, forms, methods of implementation of innovation and investment development policy are defined; the parameters, principles, scientific and methodical foundations of creation of modern innovative forms of development are outlined; providing scientific support for development programs is emphasized. The connection of the implementation of innovations in the economic practice at industrial enterprises with innovative entrepreneurship, which depends on the speed of conducting of restructuring processes on the basis of construction innovation-investment model development of the economy, was proved. The basic tasks were defined, namely, first of all, the active use of human capital, scientific and technical potential of its realization; forming a competitive environment; providing real state support; setting up an efficient financial and banking systems, an efficient stock market; a well-established investment process, which in turn requires improvement of the corporate governance system of enterprises that provides for transparency of the ownership structure, provision of shareholders with high-quality and reliable information. The destabilizing factors of realization of innovation-investment potential at industrial enterprises, in particular, machine-building enterprises of Ukraine were defined, among them: insufficient development of solvent internal market of machine-building products, lack of state and regional development program, significant dependence on market conditions on foreign markets; general deficiencies in the implementation of the state program of development of mechanical engineering, shortages of personnel required qualification (scientific, technical, engineering, labor specialties), lack of state financial support, and, in particular state protection against raider attacks. The paper emphasizes that venture capital company should play a special role in realizing an innovation model of development, which will enable the increase of the complexity of production; the use of the existing productive assets to a greater extent, the expanding of the production infrastructure; the creation of the basis for the formation and development of new organizational forms and production activity; the realization of the social orientation of the industry development. The necessity of stimulating the development of socially significant productions, which allows solving problems of socio-economic development without increasing the ecological burden on the natural system, was determined. It is essential to develop and implement relevant investment programs on the basis of well-defined volumes of investment resources; to increase investment attractiveness at the expense of streamlining the market space for commodity producers; to create guarantees of protection of capital and income of investors.

The economic aspects of innovation activity are determined by the fact that innovations serve to achieve the economic goals of the enterprise, act as a means of competition and require the use of economic resources. When organizing innovation activities, it is important to take into account macroeconomic factors and intra-company conditions. The authors identify three large-scale macroeconomic factors that have a significant impact on the chain of interrelated innovations in the activities of modern Russian agro-industrial enterprises. At present, the factor of creating institutions of the digital economy is beginning to take effect, in connection with which the third wave of organizational, technological and marketing innovations and the next growth of agro-industrial production in Russia are expected. Due to the different rates of economic concentration in the three areas of the agro-industrial complex, historically, unfair vertical competition has been and remains one of the limitations for innovation at agro-industrial enterprises. In the digital economy, information about the essential conditions of concluded transactions becomes available to antimonopoly authorities in real time, which allows them to quickly develop and apply regulatory actions in cases of violations of antimonopoly legislation or in cases of “failures” of the market. It is also possible to create institutions that support fair competition in the vertical and horizontal dimensions. The opportunities that open up actualize the improvement of the conditions for innovation activity at the intra-company level.

Investment and innovative development of industrial enterprises is driven by the influence on the sensitive indicators of their activity, which characterize technological singularity. Therefore, it is expedient to define them using adequate economic and mathematical methods that will identify the development and growth points that are characterized by the accumulation of information and are a manifestation of singularity. The purpose of the article is to determine the main sensitive indicators of the investment and innovative development of industrial enterprises, which are the points of technological singularity. The article proposes conceptual provisions for evaluating the investment-innovation activity of enterprises as a basis for their development. These provisions consider the activity of economic entities according to three states (functioning, growth, and development); evaluation of investment and innovation activities, both individually and in conjunction with the official statistical reporting of enterprises using a well-founded minimum sufficient system of partial indicators defined through the multidimensional factor analysis and combined into integral and summarizing indicators; determination of technological singularity points as a result of prediction of partial and summarizing indicators’ values via the neural networks method. A methodological approach is developed to substantiate the technological singularity points, the managerial influence on which is provided by the development of enterprises. The methodological approach is based on considering the investment-innovation activity nonlinearity, both explicit and latent tendencies of development, situationality and variability of its goals, strategic orientation and possible technological singularity of an enterprise. The proposals submitted were implemented based on statistical reports of the machine-building enterprises for 2014–2018.

Abstract ‘Creative destruction’ is one of the most important analytical tools, taking into consideration both the economic and sociological characteristics of capitalist society. According to Schumpeter, in the long term, evolution gives rise to economic development resulting from batches of innovative solutions, leading to improvements in the standard of living. The innovation activity of firms is based on supply-side factors, hence it is large enterprises that excel in innovation since they strive to achieve a monopoly market position and above-average profits. Schumpeter attempts to combine two elements: the spread of monopolies and the continuation of economic development, both occurring through innovation, which is far more important than price competition. The Schumpeterian ‘creative destruction’ permeates the main aspects of macroeconomic activity, not only in the long term, but also in the area of economic fluctuations, structural changes, or the functioning of markets. As a result, it becomes a factor determining changes in the economic order. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the role of territories in the process of creating and using knowledge and its impact on the economic efficiency of the companies which function within their boundaries. Regional cooperation increases the involvement of business entities in innovation activities, which translates into higher competitiveness of firms. Moreover, the awareness of the necessity of cooperation and use of innovation capital tends to grow.
