Data was collected through standard three-section questionnaire of demographic information, Corley moral distress and Wolf caring behaviors of nurses, and its validity and reliability was confirmed. Data was analyzed by using descriptive (mean and standard deviation, frequency and percentage) and analytical statistics (Mann–Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, and Spearman correlation coefficient). Finding: Moral distress mean score of nurses working in emergency was 20/97±101/60 and they had 92/4% of average moral distress. Caring behavior of nurses was 8/62±101/60. Gender and marital status variables had a significant relation with caring behavior, in a way that male nurses and married nurses had a lower score (p<0.05). the relation between moral distress and caring behavior was NOT statistically significant. Minimal cross-national comparisons of nurse caring behaviors are available. A descriptive correlational study was conducted to describe and compare caring behaviors between nurses in Ireland (n = 74) and the United States (US) (n = 74). Significant differences were found between the samples on both educational background and years of nursing experience. US nurses had higher mean caring behavior scores compared to Irish nurses. However, when controlling for the two background variables, the difference was not statistically significant. This study is the first to compare nurses’ caring behaviors in these two countries. The findings have research, education, and practice implications.

The aim of this study was to identify and describe resilience qualities in families after losing a child. Questionnaires, including an open-ended question, were utilized to collect data independently from the parents and siblings of the deceased in 89 Belgian families. The results indicate that family strengths in general, and commitment to the family in particular, helped the families' adaptation after the loss. In addition, the adaptation process after the loss was aided if the family members viewed the crisis as a challenge. Both the siblings and the parents indicated that the extent to which a family experienced support from the community was directly related to family adaptation after the loss. Redefining the situation and utilizing social support from friends and family were underlined as effective family coping strategies. The findings could be used in interventions to promote family resilience, thereby affirming the reparative potential of families.

Background: Despite the concomitant rise of kidney diseases and hemodialysis services nationwide, the Philippines still lacks research on hemodialysis nursing care quality. Using nursing-sensitive indicators under the Nursing Role Effectiveness Model, this study aimed to describe hemodialysis nurses’ perception of their unit as practice environment; patients’ perception of nurse caring behaviors based on Jean Watson’s 10 Caritas Processes; patients’ level of satisfaction on nursing care; and determine the association between perceived nurse caring behaviors and satisfaction levels. Methodology: This descriptive cross-sectional study purposely selected seven free-standing hemodialysis centers in Metro Manila. Ninety-four nurses were surveyed via complete enumeration using the Practice Environment Scale of Nursing Work Index (PES-NWI) while 345 randomly selected patients answered the Caring Factor Survey-Tagalog (CFS-T) and Patient Satisfaction of Nursing Care Quality Questionnaire-Tagalog (PSNCQQ-T). Pearson’s correlation was used to analyze the gathered data. Results: The study revealed that nurses perceived their respective work unit as a favorable practice environment while hemodialysis patients perceived nurse caring behaviors as practiced to a great extent and their satisfaction with nursing care as very good. The study also revealed a significant positive correlation between the process and outcome indicators (r=0.64, p=<0.0001). Conclusion: The study reflected positive nursing-sensitive indicators in hemodialysis. However, hemodi alysis facilities should improve nurse staffing, spiritual nurse caring behavior, and facilitate a more healing environment while maintaining their current favorable qualities.
