Comfort’ is one of the most sought for factors to keep one’s life stress-free. This holds good for workplace comfort too, as both the genders are equally employed now a days. Especially in a busy sector like banking, where long hours of sitting and compulsion to stay alert, the need for comfort level relatively takes a higher order of importance. This study is attempted to analyse the level of comfort the private bank employees experience at workplace, which ultimately impacts their job satisfaction beyond monetary benefits. The aim of this study is to analyse the relationship of comfort level at workplace towards employee job satisfaction, the factors that impact employee comfort at workplace and to suggest measures to effect a stress-free comfortable workplace for private bank employees. A sample size of 70 has been employed using simple random sampling method and the results thus sought are analysed and interpreted statistically. The results thus derive that there is a significant relationship between gender and job rotation practices; Age and work timing; Age and Promotion practices; Designation and work timing; designation and training and development practices. It is also derived that educational qualification, number of dependents and gender have significant difference with respect to salary; that age, number of dependents and designation have significant difference with respect to Training and development practices in private banking sector.

This article discusses the emerging research concerned with the effect job satisfaction on occupational stress experienced among bank employees. The Occupational Stress Index developed by A.K. Srivastava and A. P. Singh (1984) and Job Satisfaction scale (JSS) developed by Dr. Amar Singh and Dr. T R Sharma (2007) by the researchers to importune information from bank employees was administered to 100 respondents comprising of both public and private banks in the branches of SBI, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Co-Operative Bank, ICICI, HDFC and Axis Bank within Ahmedabad city. Objectives of the studies are 1) To study the level of Job Satisfaction of Employees working in Private and Public bank in relation to types of Bank and Gender. 2) To study the Occupational Stress of Employees working in Private and Public bank in relation to types of Bank and Gender. 3) To know the correlation between Job Satisfaction and Occupational Stress of Private and public Bank employees. Statistical ‘t’-test and correlation were used for data analysis. The findings of the study reflect that Public Bank employees are more satisfied with their jobs and occupationally less stressed than the Private bank employees. Further Female bank employees are less satisfied and under higher level of occupational stress as compared to their Male bank employees counterparts. Whereas, there is a negative & significant co-relation between Job Satisfaction & Occupational stress of Bank employees. It is suggested from findings of the study, that in order to reduce occupational stress among Private bank employees, the job satisfaction must be enhanced.

The main objective of the present study was to examine and compare the level of job involvement and job satisfaction of public and private bank officers. A 2X2 Factorial design was used to study the role of organization and gender on job involvement and job satisfaction The sample of the study comprised of forty bank officers who were divided into two groups of organization i.e. private banks (n=20) and government banks (n=20), these subjects were further divided into two sub-groups based on genders, males (n-10) and females (n=10) included in equal number. Results revealed significant differences between public and private bank officers and males and females and were in line with all the hypotheses on all the variables. The main findings were: (1) the public and private sector bank officers differed significantly on the variable of job involvement as the mean value of private sector bank officers was significantly higher as compared to public sector bank officers. (2) There was a significant difference for gender on the variable of job involvement. The female officers reported higher level of job involvement as compared to their counterparts viz. males of both the sectors irrespective of their organizations. (3) There was a significant difference for groups on the variable of job satisfaction. The job satisfaction of private sector bank officers was significantly higher as compared to public sector bank officers. (4) There was a significant difference for gender on the variable of job satisfaction. The female officers of both the sectors reported significantly higher level of job satisfaction to that of males.

Human Resources Management literature regards training as the bloodstream of any organization because the success of an organization to achieve its objectives and goals highly depends on its workforce. For this reason, organizations should invest in employees’ training to enhance their performance and that of an organization. Nonetheless, some organizations regard training as an unnecessary expenditure and always cut training budgets to improve their financial standing to the detriment of their employees’ welfare because that action incapacitates staff to adapt to the ever-changing working environment and uncertain conditions on account of, inter alia, rapid technological innovation and organizational change. This study employed stratified sampling technique to draw a sample of 60 employees from a population of 70 employees through self-administered questionnaire to examine the impact of training on employees’ performance, employee’s motivation and job satisfaction in the banking sector in Private bank  of Noakhali region in Bangladesh. This results show that the mean for on the job training and development located from 3.23 to 4.4 and for off the job training and development from 2.36 to 4.05. The overall impact of training and development from the perspective of employees of private banking sector in Noakhali region has mean and standard deviation respectively 3.54 and 0.95 in total. This result indicates that training and development has a high impact on the employee’s performance and productivity in the perspective of employees of private bank in Noakhali region. The findings of the study generally revealed that training not only increases employees’ performance but also positively affects employees’ motivation and job satisfaction within the  Private banking sector in Bangladesh Therefore, the banking sector in Bangladesh should regularly allocate resources for employees’ training based on identified skill gaps to sharpen employees’ skills, knowledge and abilities to capacitate them to cope with the ever-changing working environment and uncertain conditions and to improve their motivation and job satisfaction.

E-learning has become a global phenomenon and it is the central theme of many industries and organizations for the additional method of training which can complement traditional methods of learning. The practices of E-learning and Learning management system (LMS) in the banking sector make the drastic changes in the employee performance and their knowledge regarding job in the modern banking structure. This study provides a comprehensive body of knowledge about LMS and e-learning, in general, within the public and private bank in India. The main objective of this paper to understand and analyze the attitude of employees towards E-learning practices in banking sector in Shivamogga district. The data was analyzed by using exploratory factor analysis, based on the responses received from a random the sample 50 of the bank employees working in the private sector banks.

AbstractThis paper examines the relationship between employee engagement and job satisfaction. People spend most of their time at work, and their motivation is considered to be an important factor for job performance. Enthusiastic employees, who focus their efforts on achieving their companies′ goals are a key competitive advantage in the modern world. The effect of employee engagement on business performance has been studied by various experts. They found out the similar conclusion: “the more enthusiastic the workers are, the better operating results they achieve for the company”. An occasional sample of 594 respondents who are employed in the public and non-public sector in Slovenia was used for the purpose of this study. The main goal of the research is to determine whether (and how) the employee engagement influences job satisfaction. A written survey was conducted from 4 January 2016 to 14 March 2016. IBM SPSS 20 was used for the statistical analysis. The results confirm that the relationship between employee engagement and job satisfaction is positive and statistically significant (5 % significance level), based on the linear regression F (1, 583) =296.14, p-value = 0.000, R-square = 0.337. The results also show that there is no statistically significant difference between employee engagement and gender and there is no statistically significant difference between job satisfaction and gender.

Background: There exist many fatal occupational accidents in the works carried out in wastewater treatment plants. Objective: This research was carried out to determine the relationship between job satisfaction levels and occupational safety perceptions of employees working in wastewater treatment plants. Methods: In this study, a questionnaire including Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale and Occupational Safety Scale is applied to a total of 161 people aged 16-65 years working in two different Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plants in Istanbul by simple random sampling. Statistical Package for Social Science version-22 was used. Seventeen hypotheses were analyzed to show the relation between the occupational safety perceptions and socio-demographic parameters of employees. Results: The results show that there is no significant relationship between job satisfaction and occupational safety perception of the personnel working in wastewater treatment plants (F=0.096 and p=0.227 >0.05). On the other hand, it is found that there is a statistically significant difference between the level of job satisfaction perception and age of the employees (F=2.358 and p=0.002 <0.05), as well as monthly income ranges (F=4.126 and p=0.008 <0.05). Conclusion: Consequently, the hazards associated with the work should be explained to employees of the wastewater treatment plant in detail. Furthermore, it is suggested to maintain an increase in wages to increase job satisfaction.

This study finds out the effect Types of Bank (A), Cadre (B), Length of Service (C) and Gender (D) of the employees on job satisfaction. 240 subjects were used as sample of the research. Out of these 240, 120 subjects were of public sector bank and 120 of private bank of Meerut Region. Each group of 120 individuals consisted of 60 officers and 60 clerical staff. Each group of 120 bank employee consisted of 60 employee of below 5 years and 60 employee of above 10 years, In each subgroup of 30 subjects, 15 were Male and 15 Female. Effects of this The first independent variable, type of bank was varied at two type i.e., Private Sector (A1) and Public Sector (A2), Second variable cadre has two categories Officer (B1) and Clerical (B2). Third variable length of service has two categories i.e., below 5 years (C1) and above 10 years (C2) fourth variable gender has two categories, i.e., Male (D1) and Female (D2).Job Satisfaction Scale: This test was developed by Prof. S.K. Srivastava of Gurukul Kangri University; Haridwar. As the design of the study is 2x2x2x2 between group fractional designs, with 16 cells was used to examine the effect of three independent variable on job satisfaction. ANOVA was used as statistical technique to analyze the data followed by Mean and Newman-Keuls Multi-group Comparison Test.

Employees’ job satisfaction is a leading factor in determining their organizational commitment. The organizational commitment level affects the employees’ decision to leave or remain in their organization. The banking sector of Nepal has been facing a problem of high employee mobility from one bank to another. In the backdrop of this context, this survey intends to examine the effect of satisfaction with colleagues, promotion, and the nature of work on the three dimensions of organizational commitment using the Ordinary Least Squares model in the context of private bank employees in Nepal. This study used a survey method to collect data from 199 employees working in private banks in Nepal, using a standardized questionnaire. The collected data were coded, entered, and processed in Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 25. The outcomes of the study – satisfaction with the colleagues, promotion, and the nature of the work – had a significant positive impact on the affective and normative commitment of the employees, but the regressors had an insignificant effect on continuance commitment. The employees’ satisfaction from their colleagues, promotion, and the nature of work positively improves their affective and normative commitment. Nevertheless, this study found the predictor variables as irrelevant factors for explaining the continuance commitment of the employees in the context of the study. This study’s contribution is the idea of how satisfaction with colleagues, promotion, and work nature contribute to the three dimensions of organizational commitment among Nepalese private bank employees.

Presently, drug abuse has become a societal problem with its prevalence being found among adolescents in Nigeria. This study focuses on the contemporary trend of drug abuse among in-school adolescents in Kwara State, Nigeria. The study employed the use of a descriptive survey design. One hundred respondents were chosen for the study through the use of a simple random sampling technique from the three Senatorial districts of Kwara State. In total, three hundred adolescents participated in the study. The respondents were stratified on the basis of age and gender. In order to ascertain the validity of the instrument of this study, copies of the questionnaire were given to experts and lecturers in related fields for vetting. A reliability index of 0.75 was obtained using a test-retest method. The instrument used for this study was tagged “Trends of Drug Abuse Questionnaire” (TDAQ). The outcome of this research revealed that a significant difference existed in in-school adolescent’s perception on the contemporary trend of drug abuse based on age. However, on the basis of gender, the respondent’s perceptions were similar. Given these results, it is recommended that drug refusal skills as well as drug education be incorporated into students’ orientation programs.
