One aspect of development in preschoolers is personal social development. Preliminary study results conducted on 10 children obtained results 6 children with caution assessment, 2 children with delayed assessment, and 2 children with normal assessment with the Suspect interpretation on the assessment of the Denver II test.The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of play stimulation, the quality of interaction, and verbal abuse with the social development of preschoolers in kindergarten of Al-Djufri VI. This research use Analytical method with Cross Sectional approach with independent variables is play stimulation, interaction quality, and verbal abuse and the dependent variable is personal social development. The population is the parents of preschool children in kindergarten of Al-Djufri VI as many as 38 people with a total sample of 38 people Using total sampling technique. The instruments in this study used questionnaires on independent variables and used the Denver II test on the dependent variable.Statistical test using spearman rank test with significance level of 0.05. The result of this study using spearmen rank shows there is relationship of play stimulation with social development of preschool children with p value 0,000 <0,05 and r = 0,677, There is relationship of interaction quality with social development of preschool age children with p value 0,000 <0,05 and r = 0,724, There is relationship of verbal abuse with social development of preschool age children with p value 0,040 <0,05 and r = 0,334. Play stimulation, interaction quality, and verbal abuse have a relationship with personal social development. Parents and teachers are advised to be able to increase their knowledge as an effort to prevent child development delay in social aspect by doing screening test on health service to measure child development level.

Toilet Training secara dini merupakan salah satu tugas perkembangan untuk membentuk kemandirian, kedisiplinan dan kepekaan emosi pada anak untuk mencapai tugas perkembangan pada anak usia prasekolah. Hasil studi pendahuluan di Posyandu Balita Banjar Intaran, dari hasil wawancara dengan 10 ibu, didapatkan 40% anak sudah mandiri dalam melakukan toilet training dan 60% anak lainnya masih sering mengompol, memerlukan bantuan ibu pada saat BAK dan BAB. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan pola asuh ibu dengan keberhasilan toilet training pada anak usia prasekolah. Jenis penelitian deskriptif analitik, dengan rancangan cross-sectional. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 57 orang dengan metode Purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Pola asuh ibu sebagian besar adalah demokratis sebanyak 36 orang (62,3%). Keberhasilan toilet training sebagian besar dalam kategori berhasil sebanyak 38 orang (66,7%). Hasil uji Rank Spearman didapatkan P value 0,000< dari tingkat signifikansi ditentukan yaitu 0,05, hasil ini menunjukkan ada hubungan pola asuh ibu dengan keberhasilan toilet training pada anak usia prasekolah. Pola asuh ibu berhubungan signifikan dengan keberhasilan toilet training pada anak usia prasekolah. Disarankan agar orang tua menstimulasi atau melatih anak agar bisa memenuhi kebutuhan mereka sendiri yaitu dimulai dari kebutuhan paling dasar misalnya melatih toilet training, makan/minum sendiri dan merapikan mainan sendiri.   Kata Kunci : Pola Asuh Ibu, Toilet Training, Anak Usia Prasekolah   ABSTRACT Toilet Training in early age is one of the developmental tasks to form self-supporting, discipline and emotional sensitivity in children to achieve the developmental task, one of which can be done through the toilet training early on. The results of the preliminary study at Maternal and Child Health Centre Banjar Intaran, with interviewed 10 mothers, found that 40% children have been self-supporting in toilet training and 60% of another children still wet the pants, need mother's assistance at the time of defecation and urination. The aim of this research was to know the relationship of maternal parenting toward the toilet training success in preschool age children. The type of research was analytical descriptive with cross-sectional design. The number of sample were 57 people with Purposive sampling method. The data collection used questionnaires. The maternal parenting was mosthy democratic, as many as 36 people (%). The success of toilet training mostly in success category as many as in 38 people (66,7%). The result of Rank Spearman test with p value 0.000< from the significance level determined that is 0,05, it is showed there is a relationship of maternal parenting toward the toilet training success at preschool age children. Maternal parenting is significantly associated with the success of toilet training in preschool age children. It is recommended that parents stimulate or train the children to meet their own needs starting from the most basic needs such as train the toilet toilets, eat/drink themselves and clear up the toys themselves.   Keywords: Maternal Parenting, Toilet Training, Preschool Children Age

Ibu memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam setiap tahap perkembangan anak. Gangguan perkembangan bicara dan bahasa dialami oleh 8% anak usia prasekolah. Kepercayaan ibu akan kemampuannya untuk merawat anak-anaknya sangatlah diperlukan. Akibat dari kurangnya kepercayaan diri ibu akan mempengaruhi perkembangan anaknya. Tujuan penelitian adalah diketahuinya hubungan kepercayaan diri ibu dengan perkembangan anak usia prasekolah di Kelurahan Benteng Kecamatan Nusaniwe Kota Ambon. Metode : Jenis penelitian adalah cross sectional. Populasinya adalah seluruh anak prasekolah di kelurahan benteng dengan jumlah sampel sebesar 107 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara purposive sampling. Uji yang digunakan adalah Chi Square. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah ibu yang memiliki kepercayaan diri yang tinggi (50.5%) juga memiliki anak dengan tingkat perkembangan yang normal (61.7%). Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan antara kepercayaan diri ibu dengan perkembangan anak usia prasekolah (p = 0.001). Kepercayaan diri ibu memiliki peranan penting dan sangat berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan anak usia pra sekolah. Kata kunci: anak usia pra sekolah, kepercayaan diri ibu, perkembangan anak, anak usia pra sekolah THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTHER CONFIDENCE WITH DEVELOPMENT OF PRE-SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN ABSTRACTMothers have a very important role in each stage of child development. Speech and language developmental disorders are experienced by 8% of preschool age children. A mother's trust in her ability to care for her children is needed. As a result of lack of confidence in the mother will affect the development of their children. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of maternal confidence with the development of preschool age children in Benteng Subdistrict, Nusaniwe Subdistrict, Ambon City. Method: This type of research is cross sectional. The population is all preschool children in Benteng village with a total sample of 107 people. The sampling technique is done by purposive sampling. The test used is Chi Square. The instrument used was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that the number of mothers who had high self-confidence (50.5%) also had children with normal developmental levels (61.7%). The results also showed that there was a relationship between maternal confidence with the development of preschool children (p = 0.001). Mother's confidence has an important role and is very influential in the development of pre-school age children. Keywords: child development,, mother's confidence, pre-school age children

The child's personal social development is greatly influenced by the environment and interactions between the child and the parents or other adults around them. The type of parenting style of parents towards their children will affect the attainment of the level of education, social skills and overall development of the child. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of parenting style on the personal social development of preschool children. The method used in this research is descriptive correlation method and cross-sectional approach. The respondents of this study were 39 parents who have preschool children aged 3-5 years in Dukhan Qatar. Sampling was taken by total sampling. The results showed that the parenting style of preschoolers affected the personal social development of preschoolers (p = 0.028). It is recommended that parents of preschool-age children provide more encouragement to their children in terms of independence and socializing with the environment.

Background. During hospitalization large number of invasive procedure recived by patient and preceived as threatening and anxiety experience. One of the invasive procedures that commonly done is the venous blood extraction. The children in preschool age preceived venous blood extraction as something that endanger the integrity of the body and lead to anxiety experience. To reduce the anxiety during the venous blood extraction, a nurse could perform a clay theraphy. The aim of this research is to ascertain the effect of clay therapy toward scoreof anxiety in preschool age children that undergoing venous blood extraction in RSUD Al-Ihsan.Methode. The study was quasi-experiment with nonequivalent control group posttest only. A total of 34 children who recieve venous blood extraction was assigned into 2 group, 17 children in control and 17 children in intevention. The children anxiety level measured using anxiety observation sheet before the procedure complete. Data were analyzed used independent t test for bivariate and logistik regresion for multivariate. Result Findings. The results  show a significat difference in anxiety score between control group and intervention group with p-value 0,001 < α 0.05 which means there is impact of clay therapy to level anxiety in preschool age children undergoing invasive procedure in RSUD Al-Ihsan. Conclusion. This research indicate that clay therapy may be used to reduce anxiety in children that undergoing venous blood extraction.

Abstract Objective : To determine the association between socioeconomic level, gender, stunting and other characteristics with the presence of overweight/obesity in the preschool children . Result : BMI/Age Z score > + 2 SD was found in 19.5% of the children. It was more common among the children from areas with high socio-economic level (OR: 2.43; 95% CI 1.54, 3.84, and p < 0.000) . obesity was higher among the males (OR 1.76; 95% CI 1.09, 2.8, and p < 0.02) compared to females. The increased duration of breast feeding, was significantly associated with increased BMI/Age Z-score (b= 0.027, p < 0.004). Decreased age of the child was significantly associated with increased BMI/Age Z-score (b= - 0.013, p < 0.004). The children with stunted growth were 6.7 times fold likely to have BMI/Age Z Score > + 2 SD compared to the normal children (OR 6.73; 95% CI 3.79, 10.80, and p < 0.000), after allowing for other factors. No significant association was found between allergic disorders and BMI/Age Z score > + 2 SD. Thus male gender, high socioeconomic condition, increased duration of breast feeding and stunting were significantly associated with overweight/obesity in preschool children

Normal-speaking and speech-defective children were compared on a speech-sound identification task which included sounds the speech-defective subjects misarticulated and sounds they articulated correctly. The identification task included four tests: [r]-[w] contrasts, acoustically similar contrasts, acoustically dissimilar contrasts, and vowel contrasts. The speech sounds were presented on a continuum from undistorted signals to severely distorted speech signals under conditions which have caused confusion among adults. Subjects included 15 normal-speaking kindergarten children, 15 kindergarten children with defective [r]s, and 15 preschool-age children. The procedure employed was designed to test, in depth, each sound under study and to minimize extraneous variables. Speech-sound identification ability of speech-defective subjects was found to be specific rather than a general deficiency, indicating a positive relationship between production and identification ability.

AbstractHaving treatment in a hospital (hospitalization) is an unpleasant and threatening experience for everyone, especially for children who are still in the process of growth and development. One way to resolve this problem is to use therapeutic communication effectively which will and will be carried out nursing actions. To communicate with children, special approaches or techniques are needed so that the relationship can run well according to the child's growth and development. One of the predisposing factors according to Lawrencen Green's theory is knowledge, when a nurse has good knowledge, her ability in therapeutic communication will be good too. The aim of study is to determine the relationship of knowledge with the therapeutic communication skills of nurses in pediatric patients. This research uses survey analytic methode with crosssectional. Sample in the study were 66 nurses in inpatient rooms of Graha Husada Hospital,technique purposive samplingfor sampling.Data analysis using the Spearman Rank (Rho) correlation test with a significance level (α = 0.05)  is obtained p value 0.025 (p <0.05). There is relationship of knowledge with therapeutic communication ability of nurses in pediatric patients treated at Graha Husada Hospital  Bandar Lampung. Nurses are expected to be able to improve services in providing nursing care to pediatric patients, especially preschool age pediatric patients. AbstrakBerobat di rumah sakit (hospitalisasi) merupakan pengalaman yang tidakmenyenangkan dan mengancam bagi setiaporang,terutama bagi anak – anak yang masih dalam proses tumbuh kembang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan dengan keterampilan komunikasi terapeutik perawat pada pasien anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 66 perawat ruang rawat inap Rumah Sakit Graha Husada dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman Rank (Rho) dengan tingkat signifikansi (α = 0.05) diperoleh dari niai p 0.025 (p<0.05). Ada hubungan pengetahuan dengan kemampuan komunikasi terapeutik perawat pada pasien anak yang di rawat di RS Graha Husada Bandar almpung. Perawat diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pelayanan dalam memberikan asuhan keperawatan kepada pasien anak khususnya pasien anak usia prasekolah.

Preschool children have been reported to remember more visual than auditory content from television programs. 80 preschool children were randomly assigned to conditions where visual or auditory components of a televised program on personal safety were manipulated. Visually modeled actions were slightly more salient for preschool-age children than actions represented auditorily. The combination of visual and auditory input provided the superior educational method.

Background:The purposes of this study were 1) to establish accelerometer count cutoffs to categorize activity intensity of 3 to 5-y old-children and 2) to evaluate the accelerometer as a measure of children’s physical activity in preschool settings.Methods:While wearing an ActiGraph accelerometer, 16 preschool children performed five, 3-min structured activities. Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve analyses identified count cutoffs for four physical activity intensities. In 9 preschools, 281 children wore an ActiGraph during observations performed by three trained observers (interobserver reliability = 0.91 to 0.98).Results:Separate count cutoffs for 3, 4, and 5-y olds were established. Sensitivity and specificity for the count cutoffs ranged from 86.7% to 100.0% and 66.7% to 100.0%, respectively. ActiGraph counts/15 s were different among all activities (P < 0.05) except the two sitting activities. Correlations between observed and ActiGraph intensity categorizations at the preschools ranged from 0.46 to 0.70 (P < 0.001).Conclusions:The ActiGraph count cutoffs established and validated in this study can be used to objectively categorize the time that preschool-age children spend in different physical activity intensity levels.

In the article, the main tendencies of modern developing of toys industry are outlined. It is certain that the development of toys industry is intended to renewal and advance of interactivity of toys, popularization of some brands (movies, books, toys, sweets with the same characters) and intrusion of series of same toys what in a result do not meet age needs of preschool child development. In the situation of supersaturation of toys market modern toy has a range of new characteristics. And its` influence on the formation of personality not always can be predicted. In particular, the great bulk of popular toys between consumers do not promote the strengthening of the mechanism of socialization of preschool age child, maintaining of family relations, propagandize values which are not common for our nation and provoke a variety of strategies of behavior in a situation of moral choice. A toy for preschool age children is the main method in the formulation of a sign-symbolic system of representation the surrounding reality. In modern sociocultural situation cooperation with this integral feature of childhood requires constant pedagogical support, which involves the selection of toys with taking into account their educational potential and forecasting their potential results on the personality.
