The present work gives a critical overview of the recent progresses and new perspectives in the field of photocatalytic membranes (PMs) in photocatalytic membrane reactors (PMRs), thus highlighting the main advantages and the still existing limitations for large scale applications in the perspective of a sustainable growth. The classification of the PMRs is mainly based on the location of the photocatalyst with respect to the membranes and distinguished in: (i) PMRs with photocatalyst solubilized or suspended in solution and (ii) PMRs with photocatalyst immobilized in/on a membrane (i.e., a PM). The main factors affecting the two types of PMRs are deeply discussed. A multidisciplinary approach for the progress of research in PMs and PMRs is presented starting from selected case studies. A special attention is dedicated to PMRs employing dispersed TiO2 confined in the reactor by a membrane for wastewater treatment. Moreover, the design and development of efficient photocatalytic membranes by the heterogenization of polyoxometalates in/on polymeric membranes is discussed for applications in environmental friendly advanced oxidation processes and fine chemical synthesis.

This paper presents a review of the existing studies on forest biomass production costs for the northern Spain, focusing on biomass from forest residues. We analyze the role of biomass in forest economy and the characteristics of supply and demand of the nascent market linked to the use of forest biomass for energetic purposes. It discusses the main factors affecting the production cost of biomass. On that basis, we analyze the economic viability conditions for forest biomass exploitation depending on market prices. Analysis of these issues would be useful for forestry and energy planning.

Approaches to the definition of «competitiveness» are systematized. The problems of the national insurance market and the main directions of its sustainable development in the conditions of digital transformation of the economy are identified. Factors affecting the competitiveness of an insurance company are identified. The author offers a classification of factors of insurers' competitiveness, including the main factors (reliability factors), support factors and stress factors. Digitalization is defined as the most important factor in the competitiveness of the insurance market in the digital economy. Competitive advantages of insurers based on digitalization are justified. Business imperatives of insurers in the conditions of digitalization are revealed. The recommendations can become a powerful driver for increasing the competitiveness of the insurance market.

Currently, there is no a generally accepted classifi cation of the sorbents used in the technologies for wastewater treatment from oil products. The purpose of this work is to more fully systematize the sorbents used in wastewater treatment, depending on their main characteristics, as well as on the economy and environmental friendliness. Based on the existing classifi cations, the generalized classifi cation of the sorbents designed for wastewater treatment from oil products in the dissolved and emulsifi ed forms, and additionally in the fi lm form, was developed and supplemented with the new parameters. A special algorithm, that allows one to make an informed choice of the sorbent in terms of its application effi ciency, environmental protection and material costs, is formed. In this regard, as an example, the classifi cation of pine sawdust has been performed. It can be considered as an eff ective sorbent base.

Oil will remain the single largest energy source in the world for the foreseeable future, and a balance must be struck between global supply and demand. A serious malfunction of only one large oil producer can lead to a significant change in oil prices and the recession of the entire global economy. The aim of the article is to study the theoretical and empirical aspects of the mutual causality of oil prices and exchange rates, as well as to determine their influence on the development of the world economy. Methodology of the article. To complete this article, a comparative, economic and statistical analysis was used. Results. The article proves that the oil market is more inherent in a tendency towards regionalization rather than globalization. Factors affecting this process include macroeconomic conditions, the balance of supply and demand, the transformation of the regulatory component, changes in the cost structure and the significant influence of geopolitical components. The article justifies the fact that there is a certain strong direct connection between oil prices and exchange rates, but it is influenced by various geopolitical factors (for example, sanctions). Only 4% of the cost of oil is included in the price of gasoline, so when the price of oil falls, the price of gasoline does not decrease. Conclusions. A characteristic feature of the relationship between oil prices and exchange rates is the presence of bilateral mutual causality. Fluctuations in the dynamics of the oil industry are changing the roles of traditional and new suppliers. The oil market environment, which is a key commodity of our time, has a significant impact on world currencies.

The aim of the article is identification of main factors influencing investment attractiveness of land in the cities of Ukraine. To achieve this goal the following tasks: determining trends and key factors in land use of cities; characteristics of land; the definition of urban areas and limitations in their use. Improved classification of the factors which allows for cartographic provision of land in cities and their investment potential, level of interaction between different stakeholder groups, areas of urban development, which allows to generate methodical toolkit for estimation of the level of investment attractiveness of land in cities. Define the factors and features of their influence on investment processes in the sphere of land use of cities of Ukraine. Prospects of further research is to develop a methodological approach to the evaluation of the level of investment attractiveness of land in cities and substantiation of measures on the increase of efficiency of their use.

The problem of losses of oil products from leaks during their storage and transportation at oil supply facilities is considered. The influence of oil product leaks on the environmental situation around oil depots and gas stations is shown. A detailed overview of existing methods and tools for detecting leaks of petroleum products from storage facilities is presented. The evaluation of their effectiveness. Two methods for detecting oil leaks and devices based on them are proposed. The first device monitors the movement of liquid in the tank, the second-detects petroleum products in wastewater. The problem of recovery of petroleum vapors and environmental pollution from the release of vapors of light fractions into the atmosphere is also considered. An overview of existing methods and means of recovery of petroleum vapors is presented. Two methods and devices for capturing oil vapors and returning them to the reservoir are proposed, based on different principles: vapor absorption in the cooled oil product and vapor recovery on the principle of the Carnot cycle. It is shown that these devices can provide effective detection of oil leaks and recovery of their vapors, as well as improve the effectiveness of environmental protection at modern gas stations and tank farms.
