Abstract : Ability to Understand the Content of Exposition Texts of Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 2 Wadaga Barat Muna Regency "This study is important to look back at the ability of students whether they have been able to absorb the material to understand the contents of the exposition text or not. The purpose of this study was to describe the ability to understand the contents of the exposition text of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Wadaga, West Muna Regency. This type of research belongs to school research because researchers go directly to the study site (school) to collect data in accordance with the research problem. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Wadaga, West Muna Regency, which consisted of 51 students, spread in 2 classes. And the sample in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Wadaga, West Muna Regency. The data collection technique used in this study is a form of written essay test, namely by assigning students to understand the contents of the exposition text that has been read. The results of this study indicate that of the 51 respondents of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Wadaga, West Muna Regency, there were 39 students (76.47%) in the category of being able to individually understand the contents of the exposition text, and as many as 12 students (23.52 %) is not able to understand the contents of the exposition text. Classically, it can be said that the ability to understand the contents of the exposition text of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Wadaga, West Muna Regency is not yet classically capable. It was said so because the ability of students only reached 76.47% had not yet reached the classical co.Keywords: Ability; Understand; Exposition Text; SMP N 2 Wadaga.

This study was to determine the effectiveness of the kinemaster-based animated video to improve the vocabulary mastery of Arabic for eighth grade students at MTs. Nurul Huda Ketambul, Tuban, East Java.. This research used an associative quantitative approach. The population in this study was class VIII MTs Nurul Huda Ketambul, Tuban, which consisted of one class. The sample of this research was class VIII with a total of 21 students, and this study used a quota sample that only used one class in the study. While the research data collection was a test (pre test and post test) and a questionnaire. Analysis of the data used in this study aimed to determine the significant results of the instruments used. The results of the research on the effectiveness of the kinemaster-based animation video to improve the vocabulary mastery of Arabic for eighth grade students of MTs Nurul Huda Ketambul, Tuban, were effective in improving students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary, even though it was included in the medium category 56.60%. The categorization is based on Archambault's normalized Gain criteria table. This shows a significant value for the kinemaster-based animated video to improve students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary which proved to be quite effective.

AbstrakTujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa kelas VIII SMP SATAP 48 OKU menulis puisi sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence, untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa kelas VIII SMP SATAP 48 OKU menulis puisi setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence, dan mengetahui efektifitas model pembelajaran Concept Sentence terhadap pembelajaran menulis puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP SATAP 48 OKU. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksprimen. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah tes menulis puisi dan teknik analisis data adalah uji t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP SATAP 48 OKU setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence lebih baik daripada sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence.Kata-kata kunci: Keefektifan,  concept sentence, menulis puisi. AbstractThe objectives in this study were to describe the ability of grade VIII students of SMP SATAP 48 OKU to write poetry before applying the Concept Sentence learning model, to describe the ability of grade VIII students of SMP SATAP 48 OKU to write poetry after the Concept Sentence learning model was applied, and know the effectiveness of the Concept Sentence learning model on learning to write poetry for eighth grade students of SMP SATAP 48 OKU. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The data collection technique is the poetry writing test and the data analysis technique is the t test. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of the eighth grade students of SMP SATAP 48 OKU after using the Concept Sentence learning model are better than before using the Concept Sentence learning model.             Key words: Effectiveness, concept sentence, writing poetry.

This study aims to determine the cognitive abilities of students on the material system of motion in humans through charta media in class VIII E students of SMP Negeri 1 Cikupa, Tangerang Regency. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Cikupa, Tangerang Regency, in the 2014/2015 academic year. The sample used is class VIII E consisting of 40 people. The data collection technique was carried out by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques using pretest-posttest. The instrument used is an objective test in the form of multiple choice to measure cognitive ability. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of charta learning media can increase the value of cognitive abilities of class VIII E students of SMP Negeri 1 Cikupa, Tangerang Regency. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan kognitif siswa pada materi system gerak pada manusia melalui media charta pada siswa kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 1 Cikupa Kabupaten Tangerang. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Cikupa Kabupaten Tangerang tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu siswa kelas VIII E yang terdiri dari 40 orang. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan secara purpose sampling. Tenik pengumpulan data menggunakan pretest-postest. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes objektif berupa pilihan ganda untuk mengukur kemampuan kognitif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran charta dapat meningkatkan nilai kemampuan kognitif siswa kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 1 Cikupa Kabupaten Tangerang.

Abstract : The purpose of this study is to describe the ability of students to determine the structure and elements of language news texts for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Barangka. This type of research used in this study belongs to classroom research because researchers go directly to school for data collection in accordance with the research problem. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method that is research that provides a clear picture of the ability to determine the structure and language elements of news texts for VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Barangka, which are then analyzed by using statistical principles in the form of numbers. Respondents in this study 95 consisting of four classes. The instrument used in this study was a written test. The results showed that individually there were 82 (86.31%) students included in the able category and 13 (14%) students were categorized as unable. Classically the percentage of students' abilities is categorized as being able to achieve the 85% completeness criteria. Keywords: structure; linguistics; news text

The aims of this research are: (1) to find out the type of error of a<strong> </strong>recount text made by the eighth grade students of SMP N in Surakarta; (2) to find out the highest percentage of type of the students‟ errors; (3) to find out the causes of the students‟ errors. This research is descriptive. To collect the data, the researcher uses an essay test in the form of recount text composition made by the eighth grade students. The sample of the research is 24 students of class VIII A. To categorize the type of error, the researcher uses surface strategy taxonomy. The results of this research are: (1) there are four types of errors yielded by the students which are addition error (14.34%) , omission error (29.81%), misformation error (55.10%) and misordering error (0.75%); (2) the highest percentage of type of errors is misformation error with the percentage of (55.10%); (3) there are two causes of errors found from the students‟ writing which are interlingual error with the percentage of 58.49% and intralingual error (41.51%).

This study aims to increase the used of volleyball cooperative learning to improve results in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Cikarang Timur, Bekasi Regency in 2019/2020. The method of this research is a survey with a questionnaire as many as 20 students. The instrument used for data collection in this study was a questionnaire content assessment sheet. Based on the results of the study it was known that the level of used of volleyball learning cooperative learning in improving passing in VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Cikarang Timur was included in the "very good" category the number of 0 students (0%), the "good" category with 12 students (0.4%), the "good enough" category with 0 students (0%), the "poor" category with 18 students (0.6 %), and the "not very good" category with a total of 0 students (0%). Meanwhile, on average, the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Cikarang Timur were included in the "less good" category, namely 18 students with a percentage (0.6%).

The aim of this study is to improve students’ ability in writing narrative text in English by using picture series media. The object of this study is the Eighth grade students of one-roof Junior High School Teratak Baru Kuantan Hilir district. This study used the quantitative classroom action research which was carried out in 2 cycles, in this study the data collection technique used observation and tests (pre-test and post-test). The result of this study showed that there is an increasing in learning by students of eighth grade, consequently it can be concluded that by utilizing picture series media can improve students’ ability in writing English narrative text. It can be seen from the result of the average post-test in cycle 2 of 80 increased to85. The result of the observation showed that the teacher’s activities in teaching increased in both early condition in the cycle I and cycle II.

Recount text is one of the texts in writing which must be taught and stated in Junior High School curriculum. Some students felt that reading text is boring because the students tend to be very lazy to read the text, so that they are not interested in English lessons. The researchers used group investigation technique as one of alternatives in teaching and learning to develop the material and make students more active and interested in class. The objective of this research is to find out whether teaching using group investigation technique is able to develop the students’ reading in recount text at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Kota Serang. The methodology of this research was a quantitative research method by using true experimental design. The study was carried out into two classes, Class VIII E as experimental class, and Class VIII C as control class. The results of the study showed that group investigation was able to develop students’ reading comprehension in recount text. Mean of posttest score of the experimental class (67.31) was higher than the control class (64.18). Based on the statistical analysis using t-test analysis, it showed the value of tcount ≥ ttable = 49.12 ≥ 1.99. It means that (Ha) was accepted and the (H0) was rejected. It can be concluded that group investigation is able to develop students’ reading comprehension in recount text at eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Kota Serang.

Technological progress is very rapid, especially in the field of education, so teachers and students need to use technology in learning. ICT-based learning media is one of the uses of technology in education with the hope of improving the quality of learning. This study aims to determine the process and produce a product in the form of-based learning media flipbook on the material of a two-variable linear equation system in class VIII SMP. This research is a development research using the ADDIE development model. The data collection technique used is a non-test technique with a data collection instrument in the form of a validation sheet filled out by the validator. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive data analysis. Overall, the feasibility assessment of-based mathematics learning media flipbook on two-variable linear equation system material obtained an average of 85.70%, so-based learning media flipbook on two-variable linear equation system material in class VIII SMP is interpreted as very valid for use.Keywords: Learning Media, Flipbook, Material of Two Variable Linear Equation Systems, Validity

This study was aimed to know the attitude of students towards the use Reflective Journal Writing a writingactivity at the excellent classes of eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Solok in 2019/2020 academic year. The research method used in this study was quantitative descriptive. The population in this research was the excellent classes of eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Solok in 2019/2020 academic year. The total of population was 66 students of 2 classses The technique sample used was total sampling, where all the students in excellent classes, class VIII A and VIII B were  included as the sample in the research. To get the data of the research, the researcher used questionnaire. The research design included a 5 point Likert-type questionnaire which were strongly agree (SA), Agree (A), Undecided (U), Disagree (D), and strongly Disagree (SD). In this case the researcher used 44 number of statements which based on 3 indicators of students’ attitude. The indicators of attitude were divided into cognitive, emotion and behavioral aspects. The finding of this research show the final percentage of students’ attitude towards reflective journal writing was 76%, it was classified as in the “very good” level. It means students had a very positive attitude towards the use of reflective journal writing as writing activity.
