Positive education takes the study of happiness and wellbeing to inspire and help learners, schools and societies to progress. This study investigated the significant differences in the means of the pretest and posttest of students’ academic achievement and their life satisfaction in Mathematics. The relationship of students’ academic achievement and their life satisfaction in Mathematics was also measured. A total of one hundred twenty students (60 in the experimental group and 60 in the control group) from the two secondary schools in Maguindanao, Philippines living in a hostile environment were chosen and involved in the study. Results showed that there is a significant difference in the means of the pretest and posttest results of academic achievement of students in Mathematics both in the control and experimental group. The means of the pretest and posttest results of students’ life satisfaction in Mathematic were only significant in the experimental group of one school. Furthermore, there is no significant relationship between the academic achievement of students and their life satisfaction in Mathematics. The practical implication of the findings suggests that positive education intervention is also an effective strategy  to improve academic achievement. Life satisfaction on the other hand is subjective and perceived differently by the learners.

The present study aimed to assess the effectiveness of using social communication networks in teaching geography to develop academic achievement and self-efficacy of college of education students. For achieving that, the researcher prepared a teaching guide, a test in academic achievement and a scale of self-efficacy in teaching. The study sample was (86) students, divided into two groups; the experimental group was (42) students and the control group was (44) students. The pre – test was conducted on both groups; experimental and control. The experimental group studied the course using social networks (Facebook) where the control group studied the course using the traditional method. Then, the post – test was conducted on both groups. The study results showed significant statistical differences between mean scores of the experimental group students and that of the control group students on the post test of the academic achievement test and the scale of self-efficacy in teaching in favor of the experimental group students. This suggests the effectiveness of using social communication networks in teaching geography to develop academic achievement and selfefficacy of college of education students.

Caring for the persons with first episode psychosis is challenging and demanding. It may lead to the increased burden, expressed emotions among the caregivers. The numerous studies have shown that high burden and negative expressed emotions among caregivers can lead to early relapse in the patients with first episode psychosis. To evaluate the effects of the brief psychoeducation on the caregivers burden and expressed emotions. A quasi experimental - before and after with control group research design was adopted for the study. A total of 60 caregivers have participated in the study, of which 30 caregivers in experimental group and 30 caregivers in the control group. Family Burden Interview Schedule (Pai and Kapoor, 1981) and Attitude Questionnaire (Sethi et al., 1981) was used to assess caregiver's burden and expressed emotions. At end of the psychoeducation intervention, burden among caregivers and negative expressed emotions of the caregivers have significantly reduced. The positive expressed emotions have been increased. Study results demonstrates the importance of psychoeducation intervention in reducing the burden and negative expressed emotions.

BACKGROUND: People with disabilities are one of the most marginalized groups in society, and having a disability significantly increases the likelihood of unemployment or underemployment. The reluctance to hire individuals with disabilities is significantly influenced by the longstanding, negative stereotypes of people with disabilities. OBJECTIVE: To better understand employers’ negative attitudes toward individuals with disabilities, assessment tools must properly capture factors contributing to this stigma. METHODS: The Employers’ Stigmatizing Attitudes toward People with Disabilities Scale (ESATPD) was validated in the current study. RESULTS: Results of the exploratory factor analysis indicate a strong, unidimensional structure of the scale accounting for 47.14% of the total variance with a sample. The single ESATPD factor was labeled employment stigma. In addition, higher levels of employers’ stigma were related to negative attitudes toward disability, decreased support of recruitment efforts, as well as decreased intentions of hiring people with disabilities. CONCLUSION: Results support the implementation of tailored interventions directed at specific areas of concern for employers and employees in hiring positions.
