Inclusive education requires that education be delivered in a framework that is broad enough to accommodate equally the needs and the requirements of every learner in the society. This includes learners with disabilities like dyslexia who find difficulties in coping in the mainstream classrooms. This study explores the perceptions of the teachers regarding the academic performance of dyslexic students. A qualitative methodology was used and the sample was purposively selected comprising of seven teachers who were involved in teaching dyslexic students. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to determine their perceptions and the challenges that they encounter during the teaching-learning process. The main findings revealed that teacher awareness of dyslexia, teacher training, effective classroom instructions, and educational interventions can help dyslexic students cope in the mainstream classrooms.

The use of varied learning models by history teachers will facilitate teachers and students in implementing and following the learning process. This study aims to determine the learning process and the use of learning models used by history teachers. This study uses a qualitative methodology with an observation and interview approach conducted at two high schools, Dian Didaktika High School and SMA Negeri 2 Depok. From the results of the study it can be seen, that the history teacher at the two schools has carried out the learning process using a scientific approach. There is no difference in the selection of learning strategies, both of them use the contextual teaching learning model. The difference between the two is in the selection of learning methods, where the history teacher Dian Didaktika uses the method of learning project base learning and the history teacher of SMA Negeri 2 Depok uses a method of learning outside the classroom by visiting museums.

AbstractThis chapter discusses the assumptions, implementation and deliverables of an action research project in a selected Polish class of integrated form. The main objective of the project was to trigger changes in the learning–teaching process based on the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach and thus promote inclusive education. The action research lasted one school semester. The empirical data, mainly qualitative, triangulating various sources of information and synthesising perspectives, were used to identify specific topics and threads identified in the gathered inputs, to present it in an orchestrated manner and to interpret it. It has been indicated that UDL approach implementation has a positive impact on the course of the teaching–learning process and optimises it to enhance the activity, commitment, self-reliance and responsibility of students and develops their cooperation, which breeds inclusion in education. Meanwhile, it stimulates teachers to change their mindset with a view to the essence of success in education and supports their daily practice.

In recent years, teachers have started to integrate augmented reality (AR) technology as a potential learning tool into classroom activities. The main concern is the quality of the existing applications rather than brand-newness. Therefore, this chapter focuses on the components of a good educational AR application based on the experiences of teachers and to examine the current situation on the integration of AR to learning environments. Qualitative methodology was used in this study. The sample consisted of 24 teachers working in public schools in Turkey. The data were collected via semi-structured interviews and analyzed through the thematic analysis. The results showed that the components of a good AR application in education were gathered under four main themes: “analysis process,” “design process,” “teaching-learning process,” and “evaluation components.” Implications for the design and use of the AR applications in educational settings were also included in the study.

Abstract.Introduction. Every teaching-learning process aims toward a certain product, which is based on certain objectives and purposes that are to result in the student learning a specific subject matter. This product is called academic performance. Performance has been defined and categorized by different authors. Most research has analyzed performance based on a single global qualification. This tendency to reduce the outcome of learning to a single grade has become one of the main criticisms of research on academic performance. This variable has taken on greater importance in educational research in recent decades, with many variables being studied for their influence on the academic performance of university students. Some of these variables are approaches to learning, self-regulated learning, student attitudes, coping strategies and so on. Method. A total of 1101 students participated in the study (university and candidate students). The analyses made to meet the proposed objectives and test hypotheses were: Association analysis through Pearson bivariate correlations (Association objectives and hypotheses); linear regression analysis (Regression objectives and hypotheses); Cluster analysis, ANOVAS and MANOVAS, with Scheffé post hoc, and effect size estimates (Inferential objectives and hypotheses). Results. A significant associative relationship appeared between self-regulation and satisfaction with learning and performance. In complementary fashion, the level of personal self-regulation had a significant main effect on a high level of satisfaction with learning, specifically in the satisfaction with learning factor and in thoughtful learning, and by high levels of procedural and attitudinal performance. Discussion and Conclusions. The importance of personal self-regulation that determines the degree of cognitive self-regulation during the process of university learning; the relationship between personal self-regulation and the type and quantity of satisfaction with learning, and academic performance.Palabras Clave: Personal self-regulation, satisfaction with learning, academic performance, teaching-learning process

The COVID-19 pandemic, which has rapidly spread globally since the beginning of 2020, poses a number of challenges for the educational system. Educational institutions have been closed, and teaching/learning is now being done online. The coexistence of these two events, namely, online learning and pupils who have experienced migration in Polish schools, serve as the starting point for my study. The aim of the study is to obtain feedback from early years teachers on the possible inclusion of pupils who have experienced migration in the online learning process and to identify the self-reported pri- orities for teachers’ tasks during the pandemic and the actual ways in which teachers offer opportunities for inclusion to the students involved in the study. An online survey was used in the study as the research method. The article is composed of two parts: the theoretical part, which describes the educational situation of the students who have experienced migration and selected issues associated with inclusive education, and the empirical part, which provides analysis and interpretation of the data obtained in the study. The study offers conclusions on the hierarchy of priorities for teachers’ tasks (the majority of the respondents mentioned “providing emotional support to pupils”) and the particulars of including students who have experienced migration into the online learning process (a majority of the teachers reported the need for more personalized teaching and close cooperation with pupils’ families). Given the number of respondents (83 teachers) and the survey methodology, the results should be treated with caution. That said, they are worth sharing as an inspiration for early years teachers to seek and reflect on their own solutions to the problem.
