Potential Use

R is a very useful software in statistical analysis. Its open-source nature makes it easy for users to download and use it freely. Its relatively small size allows R to be installed and used on a laptop because it doesn't use much laptop memory. Users are also facilitated to learn statistical analysis using R because there are many learning resources available which are also easily accessible. But the existence and ease of this has not been widely known by users of statistical analysis. To further introduce R to the public using statistical analysis, R training was conducted through the community service program (PPM) of Sriwijaya University. In this training, the introduction of R along with its potential use and development was carried out in statistical analysis. Participants were guided while practicing. The material studied included downloading and installing R, adding packages, calling data, naming and determining variable values, as well as some simple statistical analyzes. Statistical analysis studied descriptive, regression, and ANOVA. During training, participants can already download, install, and use R in accordance with the training material. For further use according to the needs of the participants, they are given some reference materials contained in a flash disk. In addition participants were also shown how to search for the required syntax via the internet.

Ciaruteun Ilir is a village in the District of Cibungbulang, Bogor. It is located approximately 25 kilometres from the capital of  the Bogor Regency. The average population, mostly farming, is on the poverty line and has a low level of education. Formal education facilities are still very limited. Therefore, training and courses from the government and other parties are needed to increase the knowledge, broaden their mind, and improve the skills of the population. The courses that are organized are expected to increase the villagers’  income. While broader mind is expected to increase citizens' awareness of the importance of education. The PKM (Program Kemitraan Masyarakat or  community service program) team intends to provide training related to Information Technology to the public, especially regarding the introduction of the Internet. The public will be introduced to the Internet and E-Commerce, which is one of the Internet applications that allows buying and selling transactions through the Internet network. The internet will open opportunities for citizens to increase knowledge and learn from various sources. With E-Commerce training, villagers will be equipped with the ability to be able to introduce products from their villages and  doing commercial transactions  via the Internet.

                                                         AbstrakKegiatan program pengabdian masyarakat dari Lembaga Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat (LPPM) Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara ini bertujuan untuk melakukan Pembinaan Pengelolaan Manajemen Usaha dan E-Marketing pada Pelaku Usaha Industri Mikro Pengrajin Sepatu di Kecamatan Medan Denai.  Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini melibatkan pengrajin Sepatu yang akan menjadi Mitra pengabdian masyarakat yaitu Jondy Shoes dan Whindy Shoes. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan selama 8 (delapan) bulan dengan target luaran utama adalah publikasi jurnal ilmiah pengabdian masyarakat, memperoleh ijin usaha, mempunyai website dann peningkatan wawasan dan keterampilan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat  ini adalah  pendekatan partisipatif, pendekatan kognitif, pendekatan afektif dan pendekatan keterampilan dan tahapan tahapan yang digunakan adalah persiapan, investigasi, transformasi. Incubation, verification, implementation, evaluasi, pengembangan secara bertahap yang dimulai dengan Plan, do, action, check. Selanjutnya para mitra sudah mempunyai email dan webblog sebagai sarana promosi usaha yang mitra jalankan dan sudah memiliki izin usaha dan telah terdaftar di Dinas Koperasi Kota medan. Kata Kunci: manajemen usaha, e-marketing                                                        AbstractThe activities of the public service program of the community service Society or LP2M Univesity of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara aims to perform the construction Management Business Management and E-Marketing in Micro Industry Trade Craftsmen shoes in Medan Denai. This outreach activities involving craftsmen shoes that will become a partner of public service i.e. Jondy Whindy Shoes and Shoes. Public service was conducted for 8 (eight) months with the outer primary target was the publication of the scientific journal public service, obtaining a business license, have increased insight and dann website skills. Methods used in this outreach activity is a participatory approach, the approach of cognitive, affective and approach the approach phase and stage skills used are preparation, investigation, transformation. Submitting articles to the Online Journal System (OJS) has been seen as a difficult thing for the public. The proposed community service program is a community service program that aims to provide easy solutions for the community to publish research results. The public can take advantage of technology to publish works through the Open Journal System (OJS). Based on the background of the proposer team and the experience of the proposer team, hereby, the team proposes a community service program with the theme "Tutorial Submit Articles on the Online Journal System (OJS)". The training will provide material and practical presentation. The results of these activities are expected to provide benefits for academics and other researchers to publish their work.

This community service program is carried out in Mulyajaya Village, Lasalimu Selatan District, Buton Regency. Some of the main problems that become a problem in Mulyajaya Village, Lasalimu Selatan District, Buton Regency, are the not yet optimal knowledge of the community regarding Environmental Sanitation and the lack of optimal socialization to the public about how to create and improve a healthy environment. The results of this PKM activity can be described through the role of social capital as a form of local knowledge, it can be used as a means of socializing the importance of environmental awareness. The process of increasing community knowledge about environmental improvement is carried out through three discussions namely socialization, mentoring and planning for making garbage cans and making latrines.

ABSTRAKPandemi Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) masih menjadi ancaman bagi masyarakat dunia termasuk Indonesia. Peningkatan kasus belum memperlihatkan adanya penurunan angka penyebaran virus. Pemerintah dalam menanggapi krisis kesehatan telah melakukan beberapa kebijakan untuk menekan penyebaran infeksi COVID-19. Adaptasi Kebiasaan Baru (AKB) menjadi salah satu kebijakan baru yang dikeluarkan oleh pemerintah dalam merespon situasi pandemi. AKB bertujuan agar masyarakat dapat melaksanakan protokol kesehatan ketika terpaksa beraktivitas di luar rumah dalam masa pandemi COVID-19. Upaya preventif dan promosi ini harus disebarluaskan kepada setiap masyarakat agar semakin banyak masyarakat menjalankan protokol kesehatan. Kegiatan sosialisasi secara daring melalui media sosial menjadi metode yang ditempuh dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di masa pandemi COVID-19. Tingginya intensitas penggunaan media sosial menjadi media paling efektif dalam penyebaran edukasi mengenai AKB. ABSTRACTPandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is still a threat to the global community, including Indonesia. The increase in cases has not shown a decrease in the spread of the virus. The government in response to the health crisis has implemented several policies to reduce the spread of COVID-19 infection. Adaptasi Kebiasaan Baru (AKB) or adapting to new habits is one of the new policies issued by the government as a response in a pandemic situation. The AKB aims for the public to implement health protocols when they have to do activities outside the home during the COVID-19 pandemic. These preventive and promotional moves should be disseminated to every community so there would be more people who can implement health protocols. Social media is one of the most effective platforms used for this community service program during the COVID-19 pandemic. The high amount of people using social media during this time is the most effective media in disseminating education about AKB.

Abstract. The BASE-project collects all earthquakes which have been recorded in historical documents in Bavaria up to the installation of the first major seismograph in 1905. 27 crucial publications of the past two centuries have already been assessed and the reports, 1112 in total, have been filed in a data base. Included are not only all events which have been recorded for Bavaria itself, but also events which have been felt and recorded in Bavaria, but may have taken place in neighbouring countries. The data base will be published on the internet. In a second step public users of the data are encouraged to take part in the improvement and completion of the data base. This especially aims at local historians, librarians etc. who can contribute to the data base by adding information and data from local archives or documents, which would otherwise be virtually inaccessible for the public.

Open source software and the open source movement have changed how users access the Internet and produced equality of access for the global community. Despite the access to free software and code sharing for the public and corporate users, open source users remain unaware of cultural competency standards for all its users and designers. The research on cultural competence is conspicuously absent. This chapter defines open source cultural competence as an ethical and equity imperative for open source systems and the communities served by this free, accessible software. A theoretical framework for integrating cultural competence into open source technology is presented, one that emphasizes cultural competency best practices. Future implications for integrating cultural competence into open source technology are highlighted.

The open access movement came as a result of the rising cost of learning materials and the need for having publicly funded research or works available on the public domain. This is a movement which is in support of having educational learning resources freely available on the internet. Despite the intellectual properly issues surrounding use of learning resources, many institutions in Africa are adopting these digital learning resources. The chapter documents how the OER movement started, its advantages and disadvantages, copyright and licensing issues, models, and challenges in adopting OERs.

This training needs to be done because there are exercises that are not too maximal, planning, and maturity in conducting training activities both in terms of training material and from the integration and recovery provided. Higher Education as an institution that produces training and educators, while institutions that conduct community service activities have more tasks to conduct coaching. For this reason, the FIP Ubhara Jaya Sports Coaching Education Program has a community service program to provide athlete training to overcome these problems. The target of this activity is the final result of an athlete's achievement. The stage that participants go through is to take part in the training provided by the devotee starting from basic training to training in accordance with the athlete's physical excellence. Perguruan Tinggi sebagai lembaga penghasil pelatih maupun pendidik, sekaligus lembaga yang secara terorganisisir melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian memiliki kewajiban moril untuk melakukan pembinaan. Untuk itu Pendidikan Kepelatihan Olahraga FIP Ubhara Jaya memiliki program abdimas untuk memberikan pelatihan atlet agar cara yang ditempuh untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dapat teratasi. Target dari kegiatan ini adalah secara bertahap menghasilkan prestasi atlet. Tahap yang dilalui oleh peserta yaitu untuk mengikuti latihan yang diberikan pengabdi mulai dari latihan dasar hingga latihan yang sesuai dengan keunggulan fisik atlet sendiri. The non-profit organizations, especially the ones under the government authority, have strict layout of media design and such design definitely draws less attention for the viewers; whereas, the presence of such media as a support tool is significantly important. Through the interesting display of media design, the information that has been delivered will be understood well by the viewers. In other words, the presence of media with insufficient design will be useless. This situation has been experienced by UILS (Unit Informasi Layanan Sosial, Unit of Social Service Information) Meruya; this unit has produced numerous information media in the form of brochures and social media but the information that has been put in these media are still low. This situation is in contradiction to the number of activities that the unit has performed and one of these activities is creating artworks that has sale value. In relation to this finding, the Faculty of Design and Creative Art and the Unit of Community Service from Mercu Buana University has conducted Community Service Program in February 14th– 15, 2019 in the form of productive activities for UILS Meruya. The Community Service Program, that has been provided in the form of web design and management training, has earned good appreciation from UILS Meruya. Now, through the website, UILS Meruya does not only access information from the Internet but also promote the artworks by psychotic patients through the Internet.
