ABSTRACTUnderstanding sudcalifornian society today requires the adoption of a perspective that is anchored in the complex thought, given the fact that during the last two decades of the twentieth century it has been the recipient of multiple elements that have served as catalysts for changes and setbacks in the construction of subjectivity. We witness the emergence of advances in terms of what is understood as “development” from an economic point of view, based on the opening to domestic and foreign investment; politically and ideologically we lurch from side to side, with the citizens' vote alternating between personalities deeply entrenched in the community more than being based on concrete political proposals. “Values” in terms of morality and traditions emphasise, on one side, the respect and tolerance which have characterised Sudcalifornia at least for the second half of the twentieth century; but, on the other hand, are skewed towards shaping a society that could be called neoconservative, for it adopts positions and values already vindicated by other societies in the heart of the countryRESUMENComprender en la actualidad a la sociedad sudcaliforniana requiere de una perspectiva anclada en el pensamiento complejo pues a partir de las últimas dos décadas del siglo XX ha sido receptora de una multiplicidad de elementos que han servido como impulsores de cambios y retrocesos en la construcción de la subjetividad. Asistimos a la emergencia de avances en términos de lo que se entiende por “desarrollo” desde la visión económica, con base en la apertura a la inversión nacional y extranjera; política e ideológicamente damos tumbos de un lado a otro, alternando el voto ciudadano más entre personalidades arraigadas en la entidad que con base en propuestas políticas concretas; los “valores” en términos de la moral y las costumbres, por un lado acentúan el respeto y la tolerancia que ha caracterizado a Sudcalifornia al menos durante la última mitad del siglo XX y, por otro, se sesgan hacia la configuración de una sociedad que podríamos denominar neoconservadora, pues adopta posturas y valores reivindicados por las sociedades del centro del país.

Como el título sugiere, el artículo pretende reflexionar sobre el punto de vista de la sociología sobre la moda, exagerando irónicamente lo específico de su punto de vista hasta elevarlo a “privilegiado”. Utilizo esa exageración para llamar la atención sobre la doble dimensión teórica de esa mirada. Una primera, fácil de entender, y quizás de aceptar, subraya la lectura sociológica de una moda ya pasada, como puede hacerlo la historia del arte, del traje o de la moda. Otra segunda, atreviéndose a reflexionar, o a invitarnos a reflexionar, sobre su otro punto de vista. Aquel que condicionaría el nacimiento mismo de la moda desde la sociología. La moda a posteriori es analizada, la moda a priori también, y aquí, donde la moda es efecto de una causa sociológica, y no al revés, es donde radicaría el verdadero interés de mi artículo. ¿Son antes los pantalones femeninos, el traje femenino, el smoking femenino –robados psicoanalíticamente al hombre durante el siglo XX– o la emancipación de la mujer? ¿Apareció siempre la minifalda después de la liberaciónsexual femenina o alguna vez, en algún país, fue al revés? ¿El movimiento hippie creó siempre una moda hippie o la imitación de la moda hippie invitó, en su onda expansiva mundial, a un estilo de vida consecuente con ese cambio de ropa? Estamos acostumbrados a que la moda sea un efecto, ¿puede ser una causa? Estamos acostumbrados a que la sociología explique un fenómeno, ¿aceptaríamos que a veces se pueda convertir en su causa?PALABRAS CLAVE: sociología, moda, causa, objeto de arte, contexto.ABSTRACTAs the title suggests, this article aims to reflect on the sociological viewpoint on fashion, ironically exaggerating the specifics of its point of view to elevate it to the point of “privilege”. I use this exaggeration to draw attention to the theoretical double dimension of that viewpoint. A first one, easy to understand and perhaps to accept, highlights the sociological reading of past fashion trends, as may History of Art, Costume or Fashion. A second one would dare to reflect, or to invite us to reflect, on this other point of view, one that would condition the very birth of Fashion from Sociology. Fashion is analyzed both a posteriori and a priori, and here, where Fashion is the effect of a sociological cause, and not the other way round, is where the true interest of my article would lie. Do women’s trousers, women’s tailored suits, women’s tuxedos –psychoanalytically robbed from men during the twentieth century– precede the emancipation of women or is it the other way around? Didthe miniskirt always appear after women’s sexual liberation, or was it the other way around in some countries? Did the hippie movement give rise to the hippie clothes style or did the hippie style, in its worldwide expansion, invite participation in a lifestyle consistent with that change in clothing? We are used to seeing Fashion as an effect. Could it be a cause? We are used to Sociology explaining a phenomenon, would we be willing to accept that it can at times be the cause of it?KEY WORDS: sociology, fashion, cause, art object, context.

El presente artículo establece una discusión teórica sobre la vinculación que existe entre la geopolítica y la seguridad. En este sentido, la discusión se aprecia desde un punto de vista en torno a la evolución que ha tenido la relación entre geopolítica y seguridad, particularmente sobre la forma en que se comprenden tanto los procesos conflictivos y los actores que se ven involucrados. Así, se establece la vinculación desde comienzos del siglo XX hasta la actualidad, donde se percibe la necesidad de comprender tanto a la geopolítica como a la seguridad desde otros puntos de vista en los que incluso sus elementos básicos se ven cuestionados. Se concluye que se requiere una comprensión holística de ambas perspectivas para entender y explicar los nuevos fenómenos conflictivos, sin descartar la totalidad de los postulados clásicos. ABSTRACTThe present article seeks to establish a theoretical discussion about the link between geopolitics and security. In this sense, the discussion is seen from a point of view on the evolution of the relationship between geopolitics and security, particularly on the way in which both conflicting processes and the actors involved are understood. Thus, it is established the linkage from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present, where it is perceived the need to understand both geopolitics and security from other points of view, in which even its basic elements are questioned. It concludes that a holistic understanding of both perspectives is required to understand and explain the new conflicting phenomena, without ruling out the totality of the classical postulates.

Abstract: The paper examines correlations of architectural culture in Serbia with modern ideas of the twentieth century that were engendered through engagement with concepts originated by Le Corbusier. Based on analysis of primary sources, the paper examines the dichotomy vernacular – modern as a critical point of this correlation. For instance, what was the significance of vernacular or folklore heritage, that Charles-Édouard Jeanneret traced in Serbia in 1911, and how did its value became part of the foundational discourse of the modern movement? What kind of relation to Le Corbusier’s doctrines were forged by modern architects in Serbia of the interwar years, and which lessons learned in his Parisian atelier by collaborators from the late 1930s had been transmitted far and wide in socialist Yugoslavia’s urban planning? This paper focuses on comparative analysis of direct material evidence of sources on the one side and interpretations on the other, with the aim to show more clearly a two-way working of sources, reception and selective transmission through architectural thinking and design process. In sum, the argumentation will aim to elucidate the processes of acknowledgment, emulation, idealization, analytical probing, dogmatization, critique and annihilation of Le Corbusier’s ideas in the long march of modernism’s emancipation and decline in Serbia over the course of the twentieth century. Resumen: El artículo examina las correlaciones de la cultura arquitectónica en Serbia con ideas modernas del siglo XX que se generaron a través de los conceptos originados por Le Corbusier. Basado en el análisis de fuentes primarias, el artículo examina la dicotomía vernácula - moderna como un punto crítico de esta correlación. Por ejemplo, ¿cuál fue la importancia del patrimonio vernáculo o folclore, que Charles-Édouard Jeanneret trazó en Serbia en 1911, y cómo se convirtió su valor en una parte del discurso fundamental del movimiento moderno? ¿Qué tipo de relación con las doctrinas de Le Corbusier se forjaron por los arquitectos modernos en Serbia de los años de entreguerras, y qué lecciones aprendidas en su taller parisino por los colaboradores de la década de 1930 habían sido transmitidas en la planificación urbana de Yugoslavia socialista? Por un lado, este documento se centra en el análisis comparativo de pruebas materiales directas de fuentes, y por el otro lado de la interpretación, con el objetivo de mostrar más claramente dos maneras de trabajo de las fuentes, la recepción y transmisión selectiva a través del pensamiento arquitectónico y proceso de diseño. En síntesis, la argumentación tratará de dilucidar los procesos de reconocimiento, la emulación, la idealización, la investigación analítica, dogmatización, la crítica y la aniquilación de las ideas de Le Corbusier en la larga marcha de la emancipación de la modernidad y el declive de la misma en Serbia en el transcurso del siglo XX.  Keywords: Le Corbusier; Serbia; vernacular; purism; socialist modernism; New Belgrade. In this paper I try to outline a model that can bring out the meaningful relationships between ‘the instrumental’ and ‘the electronics’ in mixed music. The model is based on the semiotic square which is considered in semiotics as a powerful conceptual framework to examine the relationships between two terms (S1/S2) and their negative (non-S1/non-S2), terms which can be characters, situations, actions, concepts, etc. Two paradigmatic axes represent the relations between the actors of mixed music: the sources (instrumental and electronic) on the one hand, and the manipulations (real-time processing and sound projection) on the other. According to the semiotic square, the relations inside the environment are defined in terms of contrariety, contradiction and complementarity. This model allows us to start out with a purely technological description of the ‘mixed music’ genre and of individual pieces, with the advantage of a pre-operative analysis of the system. It describes the immanent structure of the environments and releases the potential interactions between the instrumental and the electronics of mixed music. These interactions are examined, from a paradigmatic point of view, with numerous representative pieces of mixed music from the twentieth century.

Eleonora Mattia: Three Italian illuminated Cuttings in the Royal Library of Copenhagen Some observations on the history of collecting illuminated cuttings serve to introduce three unpublished Italian fragments that are part of a collection of illuminated fragments conserved in the Royal Danish Library. The miniatures are described from the point of view of their liturgical and art-historical content and are presented in the form of entries in a catalogue raisonné. The Master B. F., who grew up under the shadow of Leonardo de Vinci, was among those miniaturists most sought-after by collectors in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century because of his evident stylistic debts to the great painter. The beautiful miniature in Copenhagen can now be added to the other known works of this Master and is critical not only to the reconstruction of his corpus, but also for the history of collecting, as it comes from the prestigious Holford Collection. It was already correctly attributed when it entered the collection of the Royal Library; it is here inserted into the activity of the artist, a dating is proposed, and a provenance is suggested from the series of choir books in the monastery of Santi Angelo e Nicolò a Villanova Sillaro in Lombardy, which were broken up around 1799. The Danish cutting here attributed to Attavante has a specific iconography that demonstrates an originality and an independence from models followed by contemporary Florentine painting, qualities not always acknowledged to the well known miniaturist whose extensive figurative production has sometimes been considered repetitive. A third fragment is here attributed to the Pisan Master of Montepulciano Gradual I. This anonymous miniaturist is at the centre of the most recent and innovative studies of fourteenth-century Tuscan painting: his activity belongs to the diversified texture of artistic production between Florence and its nearby cities, with expressive modalities independent of the tradition of the more strictly Giottesque masters. The miniature attributed to him here is to be added to the catalogue of his works, dispersed as they are in many European and American collections.

En esta reflexión acerca del buen vivir se parte de breves aportaciones sobre el significado de este concepto y se presentan dos experiencias basadas en la información empírica recabada por la autora. La primera por medio del trabajo con comunidades indígenas de la Selva del municipio Las Margaritas, Chiapas, en el último cuarto del siglo xx, para tratar de explicar cómo pudo surgir este concepto en la vida comunitaria; se relaciona esta información con la cosmovisión indígena y el valor de la armonía. La segunda experiencia que se presenta es de años recientes, en Los Altos de Chiapas. Esta indaga acerca de los valores del buen vivir desde el punto de vista de mujeres tsotsiles, tomando como muestra un grupo de Zinacantán, a quienes se invita a realizar una comparación entre la forma de vida que llevan y la que ofrece un proyecto de desarrollo gubernamental, para llegar, finalmente, a conclusiones. LOOKING AT BUEN VIVIR FROM WITHIN The point of departure of this reflection on good living/buen vivir lies in brief contributions regarding what this concept means. It presents two experiences based on empirical information collected by the author. The first one relates to work conducted in the last quarter of the twentieth century with indigenous communities of the Selva region, at the municipality called Las Margaritas, Chiapas. It attempts to explain how this notion of community life might have come about. This information is related to the indigenous cosmovision and the value of harmony. The second experience corresponds to more recent times in the Chiapas highlands. Using a group of women from Zinacantán as a sample, it explores the values of good living/buen vivir from the point of view of Tsotsil women. These women were invited to make a comparison between their way of life and that offered by a government development project. The final conclusions are based on these comparisons

La tecnificación y las grandes catástrofes militares y sociales del siglo XX condujeron a un autor como Husserl a reivindicar un concepto como el de Lebenswelt. Tras este acercamiento hay una reflexión sobre el yo y el otro que se ha querido poner de manifiesto en este artículo a fin de destacar dos conceptos como el de posibilidad y facticidad. Las variaciones imaginarias husserlianas y los testimonios de los supervivientes de los campos de exterminio han servido para destacar y definir tales conceptos, así como un acercamiento a la memoria como concepto que podría marcar un punto de contacto entre ambos.The technification and the great military and social disasters of the twentieth century led an author like Husserl to claim a concept like Lebenswelt. Behind this approach there is a reflection on the self and the other that one has wanted to highlight in this article, two concepts such as possibility and factuality. The Husserlian imaginary variations and the testimonies of the survivors of the extermination camps have served to highlight and define such concepts, as well as an approach to memory as a concept that could mark a point of contact between both.

<p>Gloria Fuertes fue una mujer inapropiable. A su éxito televisivo como "poeta de los niños" se contrapone su desconocimiento como "poeta de adultos" y su falta de reivindicación por ideologías o movimientos que naturalmente debieran haberlo hecho (feminismo, antimilitarismo, lesbianismo...). Una de las constantes que animan su obra es su pacifismo radical, innegociable, y su obra constituye uno de los ejemplos más extensos de compromiso con la consecución de la paz y la denuncia de la violencia y quienes la promueven. Su empatía con las personas que sufren y su punto de vista situado la sitúan en una posición que hemos denominado de "beguina laica", aportando un enfoque original sobre la obra de esta gran poeta madrileña del siglo XX.</p><p>Gloria Fuertes was an inappropriable woman. Her TV success as "poet of children" is opposed by her ignorance as "poet of adults" and her lack of claim for ideologies or movements that naturally should have been done (feminism, antimilitarism, lesbianism...). One of the constants that cheer her work up is her radical pacifism, not negotiable, and her work constitutes one of the most extensive examples of compromise to the achievement of the peace and denunciation of the violence and those who promote it. Her empathy with those who suffer and her point of view placed place her in a position which we call "secular beguine", what contributes to an original approach about the work of this great Madrid poet of the twentieth Century.</p>

AbstractThe present study evaluated the effect of different organic fertilizers on the morphological parameters and yield in two different onion cultivars. Proper use of organic fertilizers in appropriate amounts could be helpful to growers from the economic point of view. Field experiments were conducted to study the effect of three different organic biofertilizers on yield and morphological parameters of two onion cultivars ‘Stuttgarter Riesen’ and ‘Rote Laaer’ during 2016 and 2017. The investigated treatments included: B-Stimul® – a mixture of bacterial and algal extracts, EkoBooster 2® – organic matter and NPK, and VermiFit A® – an extract of compost produced by Californian earthworms, peat, nutrients, plant hormones, enzymes, amino acids, and sugars. The following parameters of onion plants were evaluated: number of leaves, bulb diameter, bulb weight, marketable and total yields. The study showed that all the results were affected by the growing season (higher values were recorded in 2016). In ‘Stuttgarter Riesen’, EkoBooster 2® application resulted in the highest bulb weight in 2016 (67.16 g) and in 2017 (55.17 g) and in the highest number of leaves in 2016 (6.66) and in 2017 (6.30), which led to the highest marketable bulb yield in 2016 (3.47 kg m−2) and in 2017 (2.53 kg m−2). In ‘Rote Laaer’ in 2016, EkoBooster 2® application resulted in the highest number of leaves (7.06), bulb diameter (54.32 mm) and bulb weight (79.30 g). In 2017, the largest bulb diameter (54.13 mm) and the highest bulb weight (71.79 g) and marketable bulb yield (2.39 kg m−2) were determined after VermiFit A® application. EkoBooster 2® showed the best effect on parameters such as the number of leaves, bulb weight, and marketable bulb yield of the cultivar ‘Stuttgarter Riesen’ and positively affected the parameters of ‘Rote Laaer’ during 2016, while in 2017 VermiFit A® showed better results as compared to the other treatments.

The example of co-existence between Christians, Jews and Muslims in medieval Spain should, in theory, be an inspiration to those who hope for a successful multi-faith society today. On the other hand, the expulsion in 1492 of Jews who refused baptism, and of Muslims who adopted a similar attitude, from Castile in 1502 and Aragon in 1610, implies that the Spanish example should rather be seen as a warning of the consequences of failure. The question of interfaith relations will be considered here mainly from the point of view of Christians who attempted to cope with the proximity of the other two ‘religions of the book’. It will, however, be possible to look at the feasibility of the long-term existence of Jewish and Muslim communities in Spain, and at the problems faced by converts from these two faiths to Christianity.
