The article reveals views on the purpose and direction of negative testing of special software. The research paper also provides an indicative list of questions recommended to be planned for testing using the technique of negative testing. The provisions of legal acts of Ukraine and practical experience in the field of software testing are also taken into account in the article. Negative testing is very relevant for testing special software products used in weapons. This is because the risks of error are very critical and sensitive. The main sources and causes of errors in the software are: user, input data, resources, procedures for output and storage of data, exchange with other programs or computers, operating conditions of the program, compatibility and coherence with other software. Negative testing is proposed to be used at the following stages of software use: installation, first run, authorization, data entry, software module startup, calculations, data conversion, data exchange with other systems, data storage, display information, data printing, saving settings software operation. The article states that the procedure for conducting negative testing should be carefully thought out. To do this, at the planning stage of software testing, specialists with experience in successful testing such software products are involved. It is assumed that when planning a negative test, a group of experts uses information about the program, their own testing experience and intuition of the tester. At the same time, the main efforts are aimed at creating such conditions under which the software may work incorrectly. Negative testing is planned to cause just that non-standard behavior of the program. The suggested approaches to perform negative testing are proposed to be taken into account when testing the special software that is installed at the workplaces of the Command Posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as on weapons and military equipment.

Usually, planning a software testing requires solving the basic dilemma: how to provide quality of testing and spend optimal amount of resources. Typically, resources include components such as personnel, software, technical equipment, time, consumables and others. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have the same problems in planning and testing of programs that are expected to be used in the interests of troops and arms command and control. Testing can be performed by manual method and computer-aided method. The computer-aided method is faster but has its drawbacks. In particular, this method requires the development and then verification of a special program that will be involved in testing. In addition, this program may not detect certain problems that a person can notice. Therefore, the authors of the article propose to use the method of manual testing. It is proposed to apply a rational approach for reducing the time for planning and testing using this method. It refers to a significant reduction in the range of input values which will be checked. This approach provides a high quality testing program at the same time. The approach is based on the fact that the range (or list) of all possible values of each input variable is divided into several groups (equivalence classes). The separation is carried out by the principle that each equivalence class includes such input values, which will give the similar results after processing them by program. This approach is widely used by experts in the field of testing. It also meets the standards requirements applicable in Ukraine. There are two general classes of equivalence: accepted values and nonaccepted values. Each of them is divided into more specific ones. The separation is done leaning upon knowledge, skills and predictions of a specialist who is planning the testing. This article provides an example of dividing the input values of four variables into equivalence classes. The approach proposed by the authors of the publication allows to perform software testing faster and more rationally. It is assumed that such a method should be used during testing software that is intended to be used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the article the authors have attempted to analyze the specifications and criteria imposed on military vehicles acquired by the Polish Armed Forces. The issues of selection of the target operation standard, interval between periodic maintenance inspections, fault tolerance and reliability, which are defined in tactical-technical criteria by administrators, were addressed. The technical specifications are the essential component of qualification studies. The data obtained from research of prototypes and the initial years of exploitation of the new military equipment (SpW) constitute the source of verification for technical-tactical criteria (ZTT) or initial technical-tactical criteria (WZTT) adopted for implementation. The article also discusses the issues related to estimation of probability of the tasks to be executed by military vehicles in typical operating conditions depending on the lifetime, mileage or method of storage. Presumable combat losses, which are independent from the adopted operation system of the military equipment, have been omitted. The research works in the field of reliability are conducted in the Armored Fighting Vehicles Laboratory of the Military Institute of Armored and Automotive Technology in Sulejówek. Additionally, the authors have addressed the possibility of the application of computer simulation for the purpose of military vehicles reliability.

The paper describes the universal approach for monitoring the data storage of a globally distributed cloud computing system, which allows you to automate creation of new metrics in the system and predict their behavior for the end users. Since the existing monitoring software products provide built-in scheme only for system metrics like RAM, CPU, disk drives, network traffic, but don’t offer solutions for business functions, IT companies have to design specialized database structure (DB). The data structure proposed in this paper for storing the monitoring statistics is universal and allows you to save resources when orginizing database monitoring on the scale of the GDCCS. The goal of the research is to develop a universal model for monitoring and forecasting of data storage in a globally distributed cloud computing system and its adequacy to real operating conditions.

A small intelligence robot (SSR) is a special military intelligence means. It is used to obtain information about the enemy - the collection of intelligence, the search for targets and target indication, observation of the situation, etc. The use of a small intelligence robot is assumed in various natural and climatic conditions: in temperate terrain, on soils with low bearing capacity, at low temperatures, in the desert, on sandy and marshy soils, on rocky soils, in elevated temperature and dustiness of air, and also in conditions highlands In the article an overview of modern developments of remotely controlled robotic military complexes, principles of their construction and perspective directions of development in the armed forces are reviewed. The issues of robotization of existing weapons and military equipment are considered. Every sample of a SSR used in combat action must possess all combat characteristics at once in an optimal ratio between them, ensuring its maximum effectiveness. Ignoring any of the properties or enhancing one property at the expense of others will not enable the full realization of the small surveillance robot. It is reasonable to select the relevant properties at the design stage, using the possibilities of mathematical modeling. The set of tactical and technical characteristics of the SSR allowed forming this. Its characteristics determine the scope and possibilities of application. The mathematical model of the SSR motion is written in the Matlab Simulink environment. Recorded mathematical model of SSR motion, formed single test cycle and input data allowed to conduct computer simulation of motion in possible conditions of operation of small surveillance robot. The single trial cycle presented contains a set of individual sites and reproduces the testing test cycle of a real polygon. On the basis of the developed tactical and technical characteristics of the SSR, the experimental sample was made. An example of the use of SSR for the intelligence of the settlement and at keeping the node of barriers has been provided. The efficiency of performing intelligence units’ tasks and reducing the risk of human losses are shown.

Relevance of the article is based on participation of armed forces in various operations and exercises, where reliability of machinery is one of the most important factors. Transportation of soldiers as well as completion of variety of tasks is ensured by properly functioning technical equipment. Reliability of military vehicles – armoured SISU E13TP Finnish built and HMMWV M1025 USA built were selected as the object of the article. Impact of climatic conditions on reliability of the vehicles exploited in southwestern part of the Atlantic continental forest area is researched by a case study of the vehicles exploitation under conditions of the climate of Lithuania. Reliability of military vehicles depends on a number of factors such as properties of the vehicles and external conditions of their operation. Their systems and mechanisms are influenced by a number of factors that cause different failures. Climatic conditions represent one of the factors of operating load which is directly dependent on the climate zone. Therefore, assessment of the reliability is started with the analysis of climatic factors affecting operating conditions of the vehicles. Relationship between the impact of climatic factors and failure flow of the vehicles is presented and discussed.

Abstract Digital well construction tools are becoming more widely considered today for well design planning, enabling automated engineering and simultaneous team collaboration under a single solution. This paper shows the results of using a digital well construction planning solution during a project’s conceptual planning stage. This method shortens the time needed to estimate the well times and risk profile for a drilling campaign by applying smart engines to quickly and accurately perform critical offset analysis for defined well types that is required for project sanction. With this solution, the Offset Well Analysis (OWA) process is done automatically based on the location of the planned well, trajectory and well architecture. Various information and reports (both subsurface and surface data) from neighboring wells is stored in cloud solutions, enabling ease of access and data reliability for both large or smaller scale data storage. The software selects the most relevant offset wells, displays the risk analysis and generates the stick chart. For a conceptual design, the risk levels can be manually set higher due to potential unknowns in surface and subsurface risks which can later be refined. Quick validation of the well design allows the engineer to design a conceptual drilling campaign quickly and more efficiently. The solution minimizes the time to perform probabilistic time and risk estimations. It reduces the risk of biased decision making due to manual input and design. This allows for better-informed decisions on project feasibility, alignment of stakeholders, increased design reliability as well as reducing the amount of time and resources invested in OWA. The work presented here is aimed at sharing the experience of applying a digital well construction planning solution specifically on the conceptual project stage and discuss the value it adds to the well design process.

Software developers have developed many effective programming methods. However, software errors are still inevitable in software products. Estimating the number of errors in software testing is important. It is an important parameter to calculate MTTF.Because the number of errors in program directly determines the reliability of the software, in order to improve the quality and reliability of software products, we need to eliminate the errors in software products. To do this, we must understand the types of errors and we should also know the number of errors in the software . three methods of estimating errors are listed in this paper.
