Education faculty graduate professional and skilled teachers; they could have a great impact on the overall education system. Because of some sort of reasons, the education faculty’s students don’t tend to work as a teacher, especially those students who secured high scores in the examinations. Due to the lack of interest of the professional teachers their spot is reserved by unskilled and unprofessional teachers, or we can say by the teachers who have poor academic qualifications. The devastated education system that we used in our country, would disable our students to receive a quality education. The lack of interest of the education faculty’s students has various reasons we need to figure it out and then find the best solution for it as much as possible. The data was collected through a group discussion with the respondents, and I used SPSS as analytical tool for this study. In the structured questionnaire asked 20 different question from 247 respondents about the research.

It is common knowledge that development planning at the village level is rarely based on valid and updated data. Students and lecturers in the Public Administration Department Parahyangan Catholic University, who have been working with villages in West Java Province for several decades encountered situations to support that argument. It is difficult to obtain valid and updated data to use as evidence in developing initiatives and programs for the village development. Students’ Community Development Program (Kuliah Kerja Lapangan henceforth KKL themed Universities Contribution to Village Development was initiated with the goal of improving the quality of data in rural areas (Garut District) by collecting and updating village data, developing the capacity of village government leaders and staff to collect and update village data on their own. This paper discusses three major works that the Students’ Community Development Program (KKN) themed Universities Contribution to Village Development have made. The three areas relate to 1) elaboration of the logic of the program; (2) discussion of the process of data collection and analysis of data in the three villages; and (3) discussion of output and outcomes of the program. Research action, as Lewin argues, has three goals: to advance knowledge; to improve a concrete situation; and to improve behavioral science methodology. This paper presents a case study that shows the existence of a problem in a community, and concrete actions taken to solve it through the application of knowledge acquired through Community Development Program (KKL) experience of Universitas Membangun Desa.

Rural community development finally has come of age. After the not very productive rural development program of the 1950's with its emphasis on the small farm, and the equally tepid rural areas development effort of the 1960's, Congress and the Executive finally seem committed to improving the lot of rural America.

Numerous research studies are conducted in communities surrounding universities. This paper illustrates the value of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in South Africa as stakeholders in an intermediary platform that can contribute to community development, based on research done by university researchers in these communities. The Quintuple Helix Model was used as a theoretical premise, viewing the importance of collaborative partnerships to contribute to sustainable development. The orientation enhanced in this paper is that research findings obtained from communities, in combination with the shared speciality areas and expertise of stakeholders such as NGOs, would serve as dynamic catalysts to bring stakeholders and researchers together in an innovative intermediary platform context that can facilitate development. A triangulation mixed-method design was used where a focus group discussion was held with 19 participants from NGOs, augmented by an open-ended questionnaire. The results indicated that NGOs can be viewed as strategic partners in community development and indicated how they could contribute in facilitating the implementation of research recommendations done by university researchers. NGOs are responsive to the needs and welfare of the people of South Africa supporting participatory democracy.

Moving beyond typical dichotomous rural–urban categorizations, this study examines older adults’ likelihood of receiving home- and community-based services. Data from 1608 individuals aged 60+ who requested assistance from Area Agencies on Aging in Virginia in 2014–2015 were analyzed; 88% of individuals received at least one service. Receiving services was associated with geographic-based factors. Individuals living in completely rural areas were significantly less likely to receive any service compared to individuals in mostly rural (OR = 2.46, p = .003) and mostly urban (OR = 1.97, p = .024) areas. There were subtle but significant geographic-based differences in the likelihood of receiving specific services including food/meal, fresh food, information and referral, in-home care, utilities support, and transportation. Findings provide nuanced insights about geographic-based disparities in the receipt of services and suggest the need for new and modified service delivery strategies that maximize older adults’ ability to live.

Community-based ecotourism is one of the efforts in rural development to improve the local economy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the potential for community-based ecotourism development (CBE) in terms of ecological aspects (flora and fauna characteristics, Carrying capacity and waste management) and socio-economic aspects of culture and local community wisdom and formulate CBE development strategies. The study was conducted in April to July 2019 in the area of natural attractions in the village of Kuala Terusan Pelalawan Regency. The method in this study uses a survey method with a qualitative approach. The results of this study are that the flora found in Kuala Terusan is a type of peat forest and freshwater swamp forest so that there are no special flora that are characteristic of the Kuala Terusan Village area, fauna types in Kuala Terusan are reptile animals, mammals, birds and fish species that exist in the Kampar River. Based on the calculation of physical carrying capacity (Physical Carrying Capacity / PCC) PCC values obtained for swimming / snorkeling activities can accommodate 40 people / day. Activities carried out by Kuala Terusan tourist visitors are accompanied by beach tours and family picnics. The family picnic and beach tourism site has a utilization area of 3,000 m2. Carrying capacity that can accommodate tourists for beach tourism activities is 240 people / day. Facilities still need improvements such as in the processing of waste that has not been going well. CBE development strategies that can be carried out include planning CBE development programs, increasing stakeholder knowledge and awareness, formulating the concept of ecotourism with the government and involving community groups, developing food (local snacks typical of the Kuala Terusan region), improving the economy of local communities, utilizing the important issues of natural forest and the sustainability of nature, utilizing and enforcing existing regulations to support the community-based ecotourism development program at Kuala Terusan Village.
