From Traditional Education to Global Education

Education, tertiary and secondary, is facing the challenge to reinvent itself, not simply to reform. Universities and schools will have to work in the direction to integrate more hard and soft skills. “Experience education” approach is fundamental to facilitate integration of educational programs with the economy and society. The world needs more globalized education, not less. New forms of education are appearing across the world. They practice innovative approach, market (private) orientation, and internationalization. They focus on transferring concrete knowledge and empowering the young generations and the skill necessary for a successful career.

Over the past 20 years, work, play, and learning have changed dramatically through technology. Today, we need different skills than in the 20th century, and educational institutions have a key role to play in developing skills. Unfortunately, schools are unable to keep pace with the development of skills that are essential elements of student success. Educators around the world are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of soft skills and play a huge role in ensuring that students are properly prepared for the world of university and work. In contrast, traditional education does not always provide the right tools to improve student success in this area. Following the recent shift from traditional didactic classroom models to the adoption of active learning approaches, escape rooms are increasingly being used in academia as a method for experiential, peer-group, game-based learning. Educational escape rooms are emerging as a new type of learning activity under the promise of enhancing students’ learning through highly engaging experiences. The paper aims to present opportunities to develop soft skills in the school setting using educational escape rooms. The study also reports on testing the self-developed escape room environment for educational purposes.

Various research on aptitude testing has been accomplished yet [1,2,. Experiences from many years of HR consulting and knowledge of the industrys needs regarding to and lack of specific scientific research in aptitude testing for engineers emerged into research acivities in this field. The paper presents the data and main results of the field of aptitude testing for engineers. Its present situation as well as the reasons for that are considered and its necessity is shown. The gotten insights are presented: the existence of personality traits typical for engineers, the existence of key criteria and deduction of HR development measures necessary for a career. A newly developed personality test was applied to the occupational area of engineers. With more than 1400 tests conducted, many deductions were possible.Through the innovative approach of standard profiles of corresponding average groups rather than with demografic equivalent results could be derived. These are typical traits on the one side and development areas on the other.

Las competencias para la Acreditación Internacional de los Programas Educativos en Computación y Tecnologías de la Información. A partir de los fundamentos se transita por los programas académicos y algunos organismos acreditadores tomando como eje, en ambos casos, las competencias hasta llegar a su identificación en el escenario internacional en el Marco del Acuerdo de Seúl. Como es sabido el desarrollo de competencias se enfoca sobre situaciones y problemas específicos, es por ello que una enseñanza por competencias brinda la oportunidad de garantizar que los aprendizajes sean adquiridos de manera oportuna y precisa, en términos de su trascendencia personal, académica y social. En todos los casos el concepto de competencia señala tanto el proceso como los resultados del aprendizaje, las cuales podría aplicar las competencias en el mundo. The competences for the International Accreditation of the Educational Programs in Computing and Information Technologies is addressed. Based on the fundamentals, we move through the academic programs and some accrediting bodies taking as their axis, in both cases, the competences until their identification in the international scenario within the framework of the Seoul Accord. As it is known, the development of competences focuses on specific situations and problems, which is why a teaching by competences provides the opportunity to ensure that learning is acquired in a timely and accurate manner, in terms of personal, academic and social significance. In all cases, the concept of competence indicates both the process and the learning outcomes, which will be the spearhead to apply the skills in the world.

Education is an important issue and issue that the nation and the state of Indonesian are facing this time. Besides being important, being able to experience education is also a right for everyone. Lack of education in Indonesia can be seen in the Date Release of the Education For All (EFA) Global Monitoring Report 2011: Education Development Index wich UNESCO. Indonesia in year 2011 is 0,934 value is what puts Indonesia at posision 69 of 127 countries in the world. the causes could be the result of this lack of special attention to the aducation of the country to a greater extent in areas that really need  the attention of both the regional and the central goverments and not escape from the role of parents and families in not obstructing an increased education.

<p class="BodyA"><em>Our central objective in this paper is twofold: first, to examine the scholarly literature on the technological importance of soft skills in Business, and second, to review the major research studies on the views of employers and the industries they serve regarding the specific character and combination sets of key soft skills best suited for business professionals located in four distinct and economically vibrant major business regions of the world. The key findings have been distilled from the literature and analysed to identify patterns of congruence, with the aim of cataloguing reasonably discrete combinatory sets of soft skills ideally suited to the specific business priorities which characterise these four different regions. The concluding section of the paper will consider the extent to which these distinct skill sets can be pedagogically developed in such a way that they become deeply embedded as foundational in the creation of an international business school curriculum, featuring five discrete sets of soft skills, each of which is ideally constructed for one of the four different regions.</em><em></em></p>

AbstractIn Chap. 10.1007/978-3-030-78885-8_5, Dennis Niemann analyzes international organizations (IOs) and their education ideas. Different ideological paradigms dominated the global education discourse at different periods. Fundamentally, they revolve around two poles of an economic utilitarian view on education and on an interpretation that emphasizes the social and cultural value of education. Both leitmotifs were influenced by general developments in world politics, and they were also reflected within IOs. Niemann analyzes how global education IOs, specifically the World Bank, the OECD, UNESCO, and the ILO, influenced the global discourse on education. First, he argues that within the IOs, the antipodal views on education became more complementary over time. Second, he demonstrates the pattern of interaction between the IOs has also changed from competition to cooperation.

Compulsory education for 12 years ending in high school. After high school, students are entitled to continue their education on campus to obtain a bachelor's degree. This activity aims to provide an overview of the world of lectures today. The method used is using an online platform due to the pandemic situation. The participants of this activity are 12th graders and 30 followers of LBB Neutron Malang Instagram. LBB Neutron Malang is one of the largest tutoring institutions in Malang which includes students from elementary to high school. In this activity there were 2 resource persons from the accounting department and the medical department and 1 moderator from the LBB Neutron Malang. This activity gave students a new perspective on the world of lectures. The materials discussed included why to choose the major, how to get tips and tricks to pass the exam, what kind of profession in the future, what kind of soft skills are needed in the world of work. This article presents new trends and challenges for education – effective and necessary for the times in which we live. Today, more than ever, as professional teachers, we need to guarantee every student and parent the values of education and a calm school environment. We need new tools to meet new challenges, to stimulate and inspire our students so that they can reach their full potential, feeling confident and at ease that they are in safe hands. Diversity today is the focus of the evolutionary process of quality, which is certainly difficult, problematic, painful, and yet real. We need to apply strategies, methods that prepare pedagogical specialists to apply traditional education in a new, modern way, emphasizing the positive. It is important to skilfully develop our digital skills that will be useful in classroom work and personal development of teachers and students, worthy of every European citizen. A priority for new trends in education is positive education, building strong teachers with „soft skills“ and the opportunity to always face the challenge of flexibility, looking for non-standard solutions, changing plans, taking advantage of all opportunities in the environment, and helping. The article focuses on the possibility of building „soft skills“ in teachers and students working on a common goal – building mutual trust, discipline, perseverance, motivation, and interest in learning.
