Natyashastriya theory of Rasa is a spirit so abstract that can only be suggested, not described in any work of visual, literary or performing art. Rasabhasa, a concept from Bharata Muni’s Rasa theory, alternatively nomenclated as a semblance of Rasa interestingly appearsparallel to Rasa but is not Rasa. Bharatmuni reiterates the relishing of Rasa or Rasabhasa from a conditional amalgamation of Bhava (emotions), Alambana Vibhava (protagonist), Uddipan Vibhava (environment) and Vyabhicharibhava (transitory emotional feelings) in the protagonist i.e. the one who leads (NayatiItiNeta). The conditionality isfurther enunciated emphasizing that not all protagonists relish Rasa or Rasabhasa distinctively in a dramatic performance. Modern plays with their stark distinctions from the ancient Indian plays like Abhigyanshakuntalam portray multilayered characters dealing with the questions of identities in various spatialities and temporalities at a glance do not seem insinuated with the characteristics underpinned in Natyashastra. These distinctions and coming away from the thematic contextualization of ancient Indian plays enshrouds the idea of Rasa Relish. Dattani’s On a Muggy Night in Mumbai and Seven Steps around the Fire explicitly raise gender and identity issues of LGBT community, in dealing with their thematic structure and characterization reveal relishing of Rasa or Rasabhasa. The paper critically problematizes the translational affinities between Rasa and Rasabhasa, also aspires to explore two plays by drawing on the concept of Rasabhasa. (Re) interpreting Rasa and Rasabhasa in the context of modern LGBT plays is the central premise of this research paper.

The story of the Pandawas and their wife in Wirata was used as the plot of the geguritan Kicakawhich was initially transformed from Wirataparwa in the form of Parwa. The only episode which was transformed into geguritan written in the Balinese language is the one narrating when the Pandawas were in disguise for one year. In this episode the love story of their wife, Drupadi, who was disguised as Sairindriis also narrated. In this episode it is also narrated that the Chief Minister, Kicaka, would like to have her as his wife. However, the Chief Minister, Kicaka, was killed by Bima, who was disguised as Ballawa, meaning that the love story came to an end. From the language point of view, the episode telling that the Pandawas were in Wirata was transformed into Geguritan Kicaka written in the Balinese language. In addition, although the text was dynamically translated, many Old Javanese words are still used in the Balinese version.

Similarly, geguritan Sarpayajaya adopted the episode of Sarpayajnya of Adiparwa; however, the plot was modified again using thestrophes pangkur, dangdanggula, sinom and durma and was introduced using the Balinese language. It is narrated that King Parikesit was bitten and killed by a snake named Taksaka. Consequently, his son, Janamejaya, performed a ritual known as Sarpayajaya, causing all the snakes to die. From the cultural point of view, the text is recited as part of the performing art and the art of music ‘magegitan’ in Bali. The text Sarpayajayaisrecited as part of the cremation ceremony ‘ngaben’ known as mamutru.

The objective of this research paper was to make an assessment of breeding value of performance tested gilts of Swedish Landrace and F1 crossbreds of Swedish Landrace and Great Yorkshire by the method of selection index. The traits on whose basis the breeding value was estimated were: daily liveweight gain, average backfat thickness measured at two sites and carcass meat percentage. These traits were corrected for body mass of 100kg by the method of base indexes and the following average values were determined: corrected daily liveweight gain (KZDP) 408.93g/day, corrected average backfat thickness measured at two sites (KSL) 9.77mm and corrected carcass meat percentage (KPM) 61.08%. Studying the effect of genotype, year and birth season of gilts a statistically significant variation (P>0.05) of these traits provoked by the mentioned factors was not determined while the gilts` sire statistically highly significantly (P<0.001) influenced all studied traits. Heritability coefficients were: h2= 0.255 for KZDP, h2= 0.356 for KSL and h2 = 0.349 for KPM. The four selection index equations were constructed among which as the most optimal was chosen the one which includes all three traits (KZDP, KSL and KPM) and whose coefficient of the correlation of selection index and aggregate genotype was rIAG = 0.594.

This research paper aims at revealing the nature of literary thefts for Ibn Rachiq (390-456 AH), who attached great importance to it in his writings, where he singled out from this serious matter that has always occupied the minds of early Arab critics. He could successfully analyse the different sides of any literary work and could reveal the reasons behind the similarity of ideas in the works of creative writers. From this vein, he could follow the roots and the originality of every single idea in order to figure out who is to be blamed and punished, and for whom regards and estimation must return. He concluded that theft is a very broad subject, which no poet can escape from, and that the real thief is the one who lives on the art of others without creativity or innovation, considering that literary theft is only in the wonderful inventor who did not participate in it. This research paper explores Joyce’s textual resistance to the Celtic Revivalism and the Irish Catholic conservatism in Dubliners (1914). Using postcolonial theories like the one proposed by Frantz Fanon in his The Wretched of the Earth (1968), the research shows that in writing Dubliners, Joyce, unlike the Irish Revivalist authors and conservative Catholics, was more interested in showing the imperial force or power in all shades, and put the blame on the lethargy of people when it needs to be placed, whether on imperial Britain, the Revivalist authors or the Irish Catholic conservatism. The paper also makes the case that if the colonial pathology of paralysis is the central theme of Joyce’s Dubliners, nevertheless, the power to resist or the resistance strain against this pathology is another essential idea explored by Joyce in his collection of short stories.

A Hero is the one who stands unique as his own, based on the presumption that, he is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself. Throughout this research paper, there have been undertaken many references and probes to the realm of ‘Hero’, obviously that of ‘Mythical Hero’, as the ideology concerning hero dates back it’s root in ancient myths and legends all over the world. Myriads of attempts have been made to the ‘Hero Myth Cycle’ proposed by Campbell, to assert the novel conception, concerning the well renowned fictional character, Harry Potter as a ‘Modern Mythical Hero’.

Modern Arab theory is based on the evocation of contextual occidental approaches that are out of text. Here, signs of critical modernity began in the reading of traditional Arabic texts, and one of the most important texts around which the readings revolved was the text of Abu Nawas, symbol of textual modernity for Arabs, as demonstrated by Adonis. This research paper seeks to find the balance between the two Arab readings that invoked the psychological approach to enlighten the text of Abu Nawas, the reading of Abbas Mahmoud Al-Akkad marked "Abu Nawas Al-Hassan Bin Hani", which is famous for studying biography and genius in which the personality key was followed as a tool from which it can penetrate into its depth and thought, and the study of Muhammad Al-Nohi’s “The Psychology of Abu Nawas”, which is a unique modern critic in his critical view, began to define literature as «the supreme fruit of the experiences of human life», his study preceded Akkad’s study by nine months, and both were in the same year 1953, This justifies the legitimacy of the balance between them on the one hand, and calls for an examination of the effects of comparison within the Arab critical theory, which has been influenced by Western theories, and which are given by the Freudian incubator. The comparison that the intervention intends to make is descriptive speech (meta critical). As for the problem posed by the research paper, consists in: What are the paradoxes that a single psychological approach poses to the multiplicity of readers and to the unity of the method? Al-Akkad relied on the dictum of narcissism to decompose Abu Nawas’s personality, and psychologists took this word (narcissism) to denote the associated bodily discomfort and sexual lust, and to signify a person’s infatuation with his body and desire for sexual lust, he feels like an image of himself, which completes his composition and all the imperfections he feels, according to Shawqi Deif. Based on the complex of narcissism, Al-Akkad explained the manifestations of the complex in what was called Autoimmune and self-envy, while Al-Noaihi went to the complex of Oedipus and inferred it with textual evidence under the name: the sexual replacement of a mother with wine and the sublimation expressed in the poetic work. We note here that the Arab critical theory stopped with these two writers, and that it did not use the developments of the psychological structural approach as presented by Jacque Lacan, his works not yet being translated into Arabic ‎. Keywords: Abu Nawas, Al-Akkad, Al-Noaihi, Psychological Method, Critical Theory
