Essentials of Management Information Systems

This first chapter deals with some essentials of Management Information Systems. The main concern here is, from the corporate perspective, on a broader interpretation over time, and it may be necessary to know before proceeding to the purchase of a new MIS how the actual implementation and uptake of the new system will look like. The chapter also elaborates on a non-exhaustive list of key issues that are relevant and connected with the notion of a Management Information System. The author also makes a quite interesting examination of a business case dealing with the introduction of an MIS to support independent film makers.

This chapter provides an introduction to agricultural and farm management information systems. This chapter provides an overview of the components, subsystems, processes, and operations in agricultural information systems. This chapter also covers the impact of these systems in improving the efficiency, and productivity of farm output. This chapter introduces several technologies related to the use of information systems in agriculture, including agricultural information systems (AIS), farm management information systems (FMIS), e-agriculture, and precision agriculture. This chapter introduces state-of-the-art technologies used in agriculture in the current context apart from providing an introduction to the use and adoption rates of these information systems. This chapter concludes with a brief discussion on the issues facing the adoption and implementation of agricultural information systems and presents some of the key issues that decision makers need to take to improve the acceptance and use of these information systems.

Includes data management and data storage management is done simply where data is only stored in an excel. It looks less effective and efficient in the development of technology. This is the implementation of Management Information System is already being adopted by schools, especially in SMP N 1 Talamau. The method used is field research that is qualitative research that is intended to understand the phenomenon of what is experienced by the researcher, for example perception, behavior, events, actions and so on. This researcher used a qualitative descriptive method, a method that is focused on the problems of the existing problems in the present, then analyzed to obtain data and information. The results of the study suggested that the existing management information systems already meet the standards, both in terms of the student, curriculum, human resources (HR), the facilities and the quality of the user, who is able to manage the activities that exist in the school. The few things that support the implementation of the utilization of management information systems in data management are: 1). human resources, 2). Job Description (division of labor), 3). Means, 4). Special Applications, 5). Library, 6). Learners. As for the impact caused by the existence of a management information system in this study had 4 impact, namely: 1). For headmaster, 2). For the administration, 3). For the teacher, and 4). For learners.

The Management Information System is a series of information subsystems that cover thewhole and have been arranged in an integrated manner that is able to move data so that itbecomes information through several ways to increase productivity similar to the model andnature of managers on the basis of predetermined criteria. The management informationsystem is defined as a pyramid building whose base layer is information then followed by anexplanation, status explanation, and so on. Management information systems rely heavily onelements that will produce an information system that suits their needs. imbalances that meetin an embodiment of these elements which will create a slightly incorrect information whichwill result in errors in every decision making in an organization or company. Therefore it isvery necessary to understand an understanding of the elements in a management informationsystem, especially operators that produce very accurate and precise information for a groupor company.

Abstract This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the Accounting Information System (AIS) and Management Information System (SIM) in Padang Adat Village as a source of budgeting information for the development of Ecotourism in the tourist attraction of Ubud's Monkey Key. Data collection is carried out through literature studies, verification and direct observation in the field, interviews and observations. The place of this research is in the traditional village of Padang Tegal and the Ubud Forest tourist attraction. Based on the research results of accounting information systems and management information systems can help the development of Ecotourism in the tourist attraction of Ubud's Monkey Forest through information generated and used as material for decision making by the Padangtegal village through the effectiveness of accounting information systems and the effectiveness of management information systems. The management information system has been computerized and well-automated, to improve work effectiveness and efficiency. Reducing the use of paper and ink. Then the most important thing is tidying up and securing the data. Data can be input, accessed, and printed anytime anywhere as long as there is an internet connection, can be accessed via a computer and smartphone (Android).

The purpose of this paper is to determine the contribution and influence of management information systems on the work effectiveness of employees in the Community Empowerment and Village Government Agency of Southeast Sulawesi Province.This paper examines two variables, namely the independent variable is the influence of the Management Information System system which consists of dimensions: functionalization, integration, professionalism, quality, equity, coordination, while the employee work effectiveness dependent variable consists of three dimensions each: time measurement, yield size and cost size.The research method used in this study is the explanatory survey. The population in this study were all Civil Servants at the Community Empowerment and Village Government Agency of Southeast Sulawesi Province, amounting to 93 people and a sample of 48 people representing each level of education, namely Senior High School, Bachelor / DIII, Bachelor, and Masters. The research variable is a management information system as an independent variable (X) and employee work effectiveness is the dependent variable (Y).The results of the study indicate that there is a significant influence and there is a contribution of management information systems to the work effectiveness of employees at the Community Empowerment and Village Government Agency of Southeast Sulawesi Province. The biggest influence of the variables forming the management information system is the dimension of integration, and coordination, while the smallest dimension of the variables forming the management information system is the dimension of equity. The solution that needs to be developed is improving employee competencies through education and technical training in management information systems.  Keywords : Management Information System, Effectiveness of Employee's Work
