UNSTRUCTURED Background: The secondary use of clinical data in data-gathering, non-interventional research or learning activities (SeConts) bears great potential for scientific progress and health care improvement. At the same time, it poses relevant risks for privacy and informational self-determination of the patients whose data are used. A tailored framework for risk assessment in SeConts is still lacking and so does a clarification of the concept and practical scope of SeConts. Methods: (1) We analyze each element of the concept of SeConts to provide a synthetic definition. (2) We investigate the practical relevance and scope of SeConts through a literature review. (3) We operationalize the widespread definition of risk (as a harmful event of a certain magnitude that occurs with a certain probability) in order to conduct a tailored analysis of privacy risk factors typically implied in SeConts. Results: (1) We offer a conceptual clarification and a definition of SeConts. (2) We provide a list of types of research and learning activities that can be subsumed under the definition of SeConts. We also offer a proposal for the classification of SeConts types into the categories “non-interventional (observational) clinical research”, “quality control and improvement”, or “public health research”. (3) We provide a list of risk factors that determine either probability or magnitude of harm implied in SeConts. Discussion: The risk factors mentioned above provide a framework for assessing the privacy-related risks for patients implied in SeConts. We illustrate the usage of the risk assessment by applying it to a concrete example. Conclusion: In the future, research ethics committees and data use and access committees will be able to rely on and apply the framework offered here when reviewing projects of secondary use of clinical data for learning and research purposes.

Digital technologies and products are a new reality of modern education, but the degree of their influence on the ecology of the digital educational environment has not been fully studied. The article examines teachers' ideas about a new definition of education - the ecology of the digital educational environment; about the impact of digital educational products on the cognitive, personal and activity sphere of students. Implement the tasks set, an anonymous online survey of teachers of secondary schools in Moscow, the Moscow region, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara was conducted using the Google form. The article, based on the analysis of teachers' ideas about the ecology of the digital educational environment, risk zones and their impact on the cognitive, personal and activity spheres of students are identified; criteria for assessing the impact of digital educational products on cognitive processes, personal qualities and motivation of students learning activities are determined; indicators for each type of criteria are considered. The article shows, in the view of teachers, digital educational products have an ambivalent impact on the development of a student: they act as a resource, a means of development, and at the same time, they are risky for the development of a student.

In this paper, we describe our design of ACM30070 “Computational Finance”, a core module in the BSc in Financial Mathematics in the School of Mathematics and Statistics. The over-arching purpose of this module is to help students to develop mathematical, statistical and coding skills, along with significant knowledge and critical thinking, that allows them to effectively construct, manipulate and visualize financial datasets and to build financial mathematical models. The use of computation and a FinTech software (FinCad Analytics) are pointed out as essential to facilitate sensemaking in computational finance. More broadly, we discuss the education-research based rationale behind the “learning by doing” and “flipped classroom” institutional models that we have chosen for ACM30070, and we show how the modern “inclusive” definition of computation has been embedded into the learning activities. An accurate description of the design principles and implementation is also presented. At the end of the paper, we briefly introduce a discipline-based education research that will follow from this module design.

Multiple Intelligences (MI) emerged as a critical response to Intelligence Quotients (IQ) which limits the definition of intelligence in logical-mathematical and linguistic areas. The MI theory defines nine intelligence of human being such as (1) the linguistic, (2) the logical-mathematical, (3) the visual-spatial, (4) the kinesthetic, (5) the musical, (6) the interpersonal, (7) the intra-personal, (8) the natural, and (9) the existential. This theory recognizes the fact that every child has his/her own uniqueness and deserves appreciation in his/her education. This is important for the reason that education is a mode of developing students’ potentials in purpose of implementing their caliphate roles and bringing God’s mercy in the world. MI-based learning is an alternative in teaching Islamic education as a school subject in Indonesia. Implementing MI-based learning means implementing interdisciplinary approach in developing learning materials, making use multi-model of learning activities, and authentically assessed the learning itself. This purposes to accommodate the diversity of students’ intelligences.

This writing aims to describe the situation of digitizing legal education and its prospects during the Covid-19 pandemic. This paper aims to explain how the digitization of legal education can work in accordance with the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 and in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this paper is the literature method, which relies on the use of reference books as study material to describe the theoretical framework as well as the limited space for movement during large-scale social restrictions. Utilization of the internet in education is not new. Many in various countries have used digitalization in education. However, in Indonesia before the pandemic its utilization was not optimal. The dependence of the community on the internet makes digitalization of education the only solution so that learning activities can still be carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic like this. There are facilities and infrastructure constraints that must be met in order to support learning activities. This writing was made to better understand the definition of digitalization of education, life in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, the obstacles and challenges faced in this education digitization system, as well as the readiness of academic facilities and infrastructure in supporting the digitization of legal education.

Repeated surveys, and most notably those by the Standish Group, suggest that a substantial proportion of Information Technology (IT) projects fail. The literature suggests that this is in part due to a lack of user involvement in the project. The authors’ research describes the case study of a major IT system implementation project in East Africa. The paper reports on the results of both an online questionnaire and interviews with key participants. The authors’ findings suggest that the subsequent failure of this project was in large part attributable to a lack of user involvement in the definition of requirements and implementation of the system. There did not appear to be an organisational culture that recognised the significance of such participation in the project. Although there are issues of definition raised, such as the definition of success and failure, this work supports previous findings that user involvement is a key factor in IT project success and failure.

IntroductionThe objective of present paper is to outline the methodology of the International Study of Definitions of English-Language Terms for Suicidal Behaviours (ISDELTSB). The aim of the study is to survey existing English language terms and definitions used around the world for suicidal behaviour. Methods and analysisThe ISDELTSB is a worldwide survey based on one ‘designated expert’ per each WHO-registered country. ‘Experts’ were contacted through the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), the World Psychiatric Association and the World Organization of Family Doctors. Each individual was sent an invitation to participate and a link to an online questionnaire. A comparison sample was created by inviting all IASP members to respond to the questionnaire. The questionnaire was designed to assess respondents’ preferences about a particular set of terms and definitions by using the four major criteria of the definition of suicide identified in the literature (outcome, intent, knowledge and agency). The questionnaire used a multiple-choice question format. Participants were asked to choose one term in the list for each of the proposed definitions. Statements and definitions in the questionnaire were elaborated using the four main features of the definition of suicide, starting by the definitions and terms for which there is already a certain degree of consensus and then progressing to definitions and terms less agreed on.Ethics and disseminationThe study protocol obtained approval of Griffith University’s Ethics Committee (ethics reference number 2017/601) and in accordance with the Australian National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research. Respondents are asked if they accept to be personally acknowledged in any output originating from this study, and if so to provide their full name, title and affiliations. If respondents do not accept, they are informed that the conduct of this research respects Griffith University’s Privacy Plan and that identified personal information is confidential and that anonymity will at all times be safeguarded. As detailed in the questionnaire cover letter, by answering the online or paper version of the questionnaire, respondents express their consent to participate. Dissemination of results will be done through a peer-reviewed journal article publication. This study aims to map the international use of definitions and terms for suicidal behaviour and ideation and favour the future use of an internationally shared set of terms and definitions. This will hopefully avoid undue duplication of efforts and reliably permit meta-analysis of data produced in different countries.

Considering the tourists’ viewpoint when creating a sustainable destination is crucial since marketing may be the driving force behind many sustainability initiatives. However, most of the literature has followed a supply-based perspective, ignoring the way that tourists view sustainability attributes. Therefore, this research attempts to address this gap in the literature by analyzing tourists’ perceptions concerning sustainability attributes in tourist destinations. This research aims to determine which of these traits are seen as most important by the tourists and to ascertain their willingness to pay for these aspects. The study is quantitative, based on an online questionnaire administered to Turkish cultural tourists. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses are used to obtain insights into how tourists consider sustainability aspects in tourist destinations. Thus, this research concludes that tourists view sustainability from a more varied perspective than that embraced by the classic definition of the concept, which comprises economic, environmental and socio-cultural dimensions. The findings of the study also determine that tourists favor sustainability attributes that are instrumental in enhancing their own tourist experiences. This information may be useful for destinations, providing guidance about how to market sustainable tourist destinations and encourage responsible tourism choices.
