Operations Project and Management in Trauma Centers

Topic of discussions over the last decades, the literature related to the care of patients suffering from poly-trauma, under the assistance point of view, is sufficiently consolidated concerning to the adoption of best practices, what, usually are conducted and disseminated by accrediting organizations. However, expanding the search frontier beyond the assistance dimension, it's noticed the divergences between the recent researches or theoretical shortcomings regarding to the design and management of these operations. In face of this finding, noticed from a literature review in the most important bases of operations management and health, it's adopted a conceptual model which covers relevant elements of the project of an operation, such as: strategy, capacity, human resources, incentive systems, organizational structure and decision making; in order to systematize the current stage of the field, highlighting the differences between recent studies and proposing a set of practices and premises, which are necessary for the operationalization of the proposed model.

A relevant issue over the past few decades is the care of poly-trauma patients. The literature related to the care of patients suffering from poly-trauma, under the assistance point of view, is sufficiently consolidated concerning to the adoption of best practices. These are usually conducted and disseminated by accrediting organizations (for example, ACS). However, recent research and theoretical shortcomings brought some heterogeneous thoughts concerning operations management and design when trying to enlarge the literature beyond the assistential dimension. Therefore, after a review of the most important operations management and health bases, a conceptual model is proposed in this article which covers the relevant elements of an operation's projects such as: strategy, capacity, human resources, incentive systems, organizational structure and decision-making. This is in order to systematize the current stage of the field, highlighting the differences between recent studies and proposing a set of practices and premises which are necessary for the operationalization of the proposed model.

In this study, one important thing will be discussed, namely about what is performance, its services, especially for the state civil apparatus (ASN). Since personnel are so important from both the employee and organizational point of view, an efficient evaluation orders related evaluations to the organization. The main objective of this research is to assess the importance of evaluating the performance of the civil service to increase public efficiency as a special type of human capital. This concludes with the steps necessary to ensure the efficient use of the capacity of the civil service of the state. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method to explain the performance of the State Civil Apparatus as a development of the quality of human resources.

<p>In the socio-economic world, the human resources are in the most top phase of the enterprise evolution. This evolution began when the arithmetic, statistics are applicable over a vast of opportunities and used to identify problems and support decision. However, analytics has been emerged to provide predictions and understand the people performance based on available data.</p>In light of this vast amount of information, human resources services need to deploy a predictive management model and operating system of analytics that can be an efficient and an instead solution that can respond to the gaps of the traditional existing ones and facilitate the decision making. In this paper, we present a literature review of this HR analytics concept and a case study concerning the impact of interventions using an analytics solution.<p> </p>

Low retirement savings rates, coupled with a lack of preservation of retirement funds when individuals move jobs, could have adverse repercussions on a person’s ability to retire with sufficient funds. The traditional response to low preservation levels has been to impose taxes on cash withdrawals and in some cases to mandate preservation. However, without a complete understanding of the factors that drive low levels of preservation, these policy interventions might do more harm than good. This study carries out a critical, interdisciplinary literature review to construct a conceptual model of the factors which potentially lead to low preservation levels and outlines proposed interventions. The resultant model highlights the distinct differences in the drivers of rational and irrational behaviour and therefore, the distinctly different interventions required. Little is known about the rationality or otherwise of the decision making process of individuals in the retirement preservation context, however current interventions only assist if individuals display bounded willpower. It is essential that a better understanding of the decision making process is obtained to determine whether existing solutions address the problem adequately.

In e-government context, trust plays a vital role in helping citizens overcome perceived risks. Trust makes citizens comfortable sharing personal information, make online government transaction, and acting on e-Government advices. Thus, trust is a significant notion that should be critically investigated to help both researchers and practitioners to understand citizens’ acceptance to e-Government. Prior research in trust has focused mainly on consumer’s trust in e-Commerce. Most of existing literatures on trust in e-government focus on technical perspective such as PKI. This paper contributes by proposing a conceptual model of citizens’ trust in e-Government. The proposed conceptual model of citizens’ trust in e-government is integrated constructs from multiple disciplines: psychology, sociology, e-commerce, and HCI. The research is aimed also to develop items in order to measure the theoretical constructs in the proposed model. The pool of items is generated based on literature review. Q-Methodology has been utilised to validate the generated measurement items. The outcome of two Q-sorting rounds resulted in developing a survey instrument for proposed model with an excellent validity and reliability statistical results.

A company operating in a competitive and ever changing environment that wishes to be recognized as world class requires a management model that affords its executives a systemic vision. This article aims to describe a scientific conceptual model of an integrated support system for decision making (marketing, production, human resources and finance) for industrial companies based on the rules that originated in the theories and concepts of: (i) systemic administration; (ii) complex adaptive systems; and (iii) optimization methods (more specifically of artificial neural networks, the analytic hierarchy process and linear programing). The proposed model was presented to a group of 10 executives and consultants from industrial companies. The Collective Subject Discourse of these executives includes the possibility of having “tools” that guide their companies to World Class management, although the computerization and automation process of decision making can be “something” difficult and burdensome.

AbstractThis paper presents the results of a literature review on the conceptual model of a sampling design and the different types of samples that can be used to characterize the nature and the extent of contamination at a specific site. The main findings stress the importance of sampling for obtaining relevant sample types and subsequent-qualitative results. The proposed sampling design can be used for environmental studies where, the efficient use of time, money, and human resources are very critical. A good quality sampling design should meet the needs of the study with a minimum expenditure of resources.

This conceptual, interdisciplinary paper will start by introducing the commencement of a new era in which human society faces continuously accelerating technological revolutions, named the Post Accelerating Data and Knowledge Online Society, or ‘Padkos’ (“food for the journey; prog; provisions for journey”—in Afrikaans) for short. In this context, a conceptual model of sustainable development with a focus on knowledge management and sharing will be proposed. The construct of knowledge management will be unpacked into a new three-layer model with a focus on the knowledge-human and data-machine spheres. Then, each sphere will be discussed with concentration on the learning and decision- making processes, the digital supporting systems and the human actors’ aspects. Moreover, the recombination of new knowledge development and contemporary knowledge management into one amalgamated construct will be proposed. The holistic conceptual model of knowledge management for sustainable development is comprised by time, cybersecurity and two alternative humanistic paradigms (Homo Technologicus and Homo Sustainabiliticus). Two additional particular models are discussed in depth. First, a recently proposed model of quantum organizational decision-making is elaborated. Next, a boundary management and learning process is deliberated. The paper ends with a number of propositions and several implications for the future based on the deliberations in the paper and the models discussed and with conclusions.
