This paper explores the ideas, and cases based on research that emanate from the application of the contingency theory, resource-based views theory, and the institutional theory to cope with an abruptly changing paradigm. The paper attempts to provide a holistic view of the IR 4.0 impact on the business changes and the usage of technology in the education sector among Thais. This paper stresses the role of the educational sector by creating a shift from static into dynamic triggered by the intense competition in the Thailand markets. Keeping in view such a scenario organization should be pliable and enabled enough to transform existing resources into intellectual resources. This would result in the revitalization of the entire organizational human capital from leaders to teams, and individuals contributing to morally support employee well-being and this would strengthen the reaping extraordinary organization results in terms of output. All this is seen through the lens of IR 4.0 as applied to the current Thai business and education scenario.

It has been articulated that the main requirements for the today’s workforce are intellectualand creative abilities, competence in the field of creation and use of ICT, bigdata (data science, data mining, data analytics) and artificial intelligence, the role ofwhich has grown even more due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The human component ofintellectual capital (in the form of knowledge, skills and competencies, as well as intellectualand creative abilities) is gaining new importance in the digital economy.The analysis of relationship of the crisis and innovation made on the basis of the ClarivateDerwent report has demonstrated the impact of the pandemic on the global lifecycle of research and innovation projects in the first half of 2020, namely that COVID-19violated innovation strategy of the innovative leaders worldwide. The analysis hasdemonstrated: in the new conditions of accelerated digitalization, ingenuity and speed ofdecision-making and innovation are needed more than ever. These priorities will affectthe world economy in the coming year.Special attention in analysis has been paid to the new business paradigm related touse and role of data. It was highlighted that digitization generates vast amounts of datathat offer many opportunities for business, human well-being, and the environment. As aresult, new capabilities and opportunities arise for business with the ecosystem of cooperationand partnership, as well as collaboration of stakeholders.The core of changes in digitalization is reskilling and upskilling of the workforce accountingnew workplaces and new requirements for them. It is recognized that talentmanagement and creative people selection can be the main engine in future transformationof economics, and workforce becomes an effective pole for investments. At the sametime, it is argued that remote worker is outside the scope of corporate protection, and virtuallyany production information, like human capital, becomes much more vulnerablein such conditions and requires appropriate cybersecurity methods.As a conclusion, it is articulated that the ability of companies to use big data is beginningto play a significant role in the economy, which in turn requires the involvementand training of data processing and analysis specialists. The direction of professions thatis being actively formed recently — data science — is one of the most priority in the labormarket. At the same time, the labor market needs skills and abilities in the field of interpersonalcommunication (soft skills), which are able to ensure the effective operation ofpeople and systems of hybrid intelligence «human-artificial intelligence».For the further research it has been recommended a comprehensive study of protectionof objects and subjects of intellectual property in open networks.

Knowledge, skills and talents that may be utilized to provide professional services are human capital. The firm has a collective ability for the creation of ideas, innovations and appropriate solutions to help the company accomplish its business goals. The ability of human capital is for individuals to win the world's competition to offer employees with more financial value. Thus, this study is intended to establish the function of human capital in creating trustworthy human resources within the education sector. A qualitative technique is used in this study by gathering literature-based research data sources. The results demonstrate that the function of human capital is crucial in the education sector, since human capital provides a strong basis for the advancement of the educational world and for the creation of a new order that is essential in today's progressive world.

Most of the studies about value creation have been focused on economic and social value. To create value, it is necessary to have a holistic vision that integrates economical, psychological-social and ethical aspects. Likewise, studies have concentrated on the role of top management through the formulation of new strategies, implementation of new technologies, operational models, etc. The influence of supervisors, the first line of command, has not sufficiently been identified in relation to value creation. Some studies have analysed climate and culture as important factors for employees’ well-being, satisfaction and engagement but little attention has been paid to creating value. We analysed how supervisors strengthen climate and culture in order to create three types of value: ethical, social and economical. As value creation is a social event always co-created, we utilized an organizational model to present a holistic view for creating value. We collected data from 129 supervisors of large and medium companies through semi-structured interviews to know their perspectives related to: (a) creating employees’ experiences and (b) sharing corporate values. We identified the influence that supervisors exert in relation to climate experiences and corporate culture values, executed a programme for developing a leadership focused on creating value and applied a survey to verify the results achieved.

The relevance of the study is due to the existence of the problem of excluding a significant proportion of the working-age population from the labor process for reasons of disability, the presence of chronic diseases, alcohol and drug addiction, and care for disabled family members. Losses of human capital for this reason exceed the indicators of migration of the working-age population to cities. The purpose of the article is to obtain a holistic view of the role of social services in preserving the human capital of rural areas. The analysis showed that the Standards and procedures for the provision of medical care and social services do not take into account the specifics of rural areas.

In this review, we discuss three major contributions economists have made to our understanding of the relationship between the environment and individual well-being. First, in explicitly recognizing how optimizing behavior, particularly in the form of residential sorting, can lead to nonrandom assignment of pollution, economists have employed a wide range of quasi-experimental techniques to develop causal estimates of the effect of pollution. Second, economic research has placed a considerable focus on the role of avoidance behavior, which is an important component for understanding the difference between biological and behavioral effects of pollution and for proper welfare calculations. Lastly, economic research has expanded the focus of analysis beyond traditional health outcomes to include measures of human capital, including labor supply, productivity, and cognition. Our review of the quasi-experimental evidence on this topic suggests that pollution does indeed have a wide range of effects on individual well-being, even at levels well below current regulatory standards. Given the importance of health and human capital as an engine for economic growth, these findings underscore the role of environmental conditions as an important factor of production. Recruiters and researchers of TMT (top management teams) tend to emphasize the human capital and social capital of the executive in the interfirm migration, but they ignore the role of the former employer’s prestige. We address this issue to argue that the former employer’s organizational prestige attracts the recruiter’s attention to the TMT, and we propose that the TMT from high-prestige organization attracts high rewards than the TMT from a low-prestige organization. We used data from the biotechnology sector on 1,468 TMTs, their 1,482 hiring events, 783 recruiters, 168 source employers—in the interfirm movement of the TMTs from 1997 to 2005. We used three measures for predictors of the organizational prestige of the former employer, and the regression analysis shows some reflections of those predictors of rewards of the hired executive. The result shows that the organizational age, size, and alliance network of the former employer emit value signals to the recruiter. These components of organizational prestige predict increase in the rewards after controlling for the human capital of the TMT. The study contributes to organizational context as a predictor of value, institutional theory, and general implications for practice and policy.

The focus of the building industry and research is shifting from delivering satisfactory spaces to going beyond what is merely acceptable with a wave of new research and practice dedicated to exploring how the built environment can support task performance and enhance people’s health and well-being. The present study addresses the role of acoustics in this paradigm shift. Indoor soundscape research has recently emerged as an approach that brings a perceptual perspective on building and room acoustics in order to shape built environments that “sound good” according to building occupants’ preference and needs. This paper establishes an initial discussion over some of the open questions in this field of research that is still in an embryonic stage. A thematic analysis of structured interviews with a panel of experts offered a range of perspectives on the characterization, management, and design of indoor soundscapes and health-related outcomes. The discussion pointed out the importance of both perceptual and multisensory research and integrated participatory design practices to enable a holistic view regarding the complex building–user interrelations and the design of just cities. Soundscape methodologies tailored to the peculiarities of indoor soundscapes can help to measure and predict the human perceptual response to the acoustic stimuli in context, thus reducing the risk of mismatches between expected and real building experiences. This perceptual perspective is expected to widen the scientific evidence for the negative and positive impacts of the acoustic environment on human health, well-being, and quality of life. This will support prioritizing the role of acoustics in building design and challenge many current design practices that are based on a noise control approach.

Abstract. Establishing new social relationships is important for mastering developmental transitions in young adulthood. In a 2-year longitudinal study with four measurement occasions (T1: n = 245, T2: n = 96, T3: n = 103, T4: n = 85), we investigated the role of social motives in college students’ mastery of the transition of moving out of the parental home, using loneliness as an indicator of poor adjustment to the transition. Students with strong social approach motivation reported stable and low levels of loneliness. In contrast, students with strong social avoidance motivation reported high levels of loneliness. However, this effect dissipated relatively quickly as most of the young adults adapted to the transition over a period of several weeks. The present study also provides evidence for an interaction between social approach and social avoidance motives: Social approach motives buffered the negative effect on social well-being of social avoidance motives. These results illustrate the importance of social approach and social avoidance motives and their interplay during developmental transitions.

Abstract. Background: Little is known about the role of resilience in the likelihood of suicidal ideation (SI) over time. Aims: We examined the association between resilience and SI in a young-adult cohort over 4 years. Our objectives were to determine whether resilience was associated with SI at follow-up or, conversely, whether SI was associated with lowered resilience at follow-up. Method: Participants were selected from the Personality and Total Health (PATH) Through Life Project from Canberra and Queanbeyan, Australia, aged 28–32 years at the first time point and 32–36 at the second. Multinomial, linear, and binary regression analyses explored the association between resilience and SI over two time points. Models were adjusted for suicidality risk factors. Results: While unadjusted analyses identified associations between resilience and SI, these effects were fully explained by the inclusion of other suicidality risk factors. Conclusion: Despite strong cross-sectional associations, resilience and SI appear to be unrelated in a longitudinal context, once risk/resilience factors are controlled for. As independent indicators of psychological well-being, suicidality and resilience are essential if current status is to be captured. However, the addition of other factors (e.g., support, mastery) makes this association tenuous. Consequently, resilience per se may not be protective of SI.

Abstract. Prospective Memory (PM; i.e., the ability to remember to perform planned tasks) represents a key proxy of healthy aging, as it relates to older adults’ everyday functioning, autonomy, and personal well-being. The current review illustrates how PM performance develops across the lifespan and how multiple cognitive and non-cognitive factors influence this trajectory. Further, a new, integrative framework is presented, detailing how those processes interplay in retrieving and executing delayed intentions. Specifically, while most previous models have focused on memory processes, the present model focuses on the role of executive functioning in PM and its development across the lifespan. Finally, a practical outlook is presented, suggesting how the current knowledge can be applied in geriatrics and geropsychology to promote healthy aging by maintaining prospective abilities in the elderly.
