This paper is focused on an emphasis of the preventive maintenance effect on reliable and safe operation of technological equipment, in view of technical diagnostics. Problems of the boroscopy as a diagnostics method providing fast information acquiring of inner parts of technological equipment turbomachinery RB211 DLE assembled in combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) in selected company [. Observations were focused on high pressure axial compressor, being the main part of monitored technological system. From quality point of view the paper provides new perspective of internal inspection of technological equipment covering possible damages locating and qualifying of qualitative characteristics of equipment inner parts. The problems solved were based on particular practice demands and it reflects state-of-art in concerned scientific field [.

In the last years, among all different gas turbine inlet air cooling techniques, an increasing attention to fogging approach is dedicated. The various fogging strategies seem to be a good solution to improve gas turbine or combined cycle produced power with low initial investment cost and less installation downtime. In particular, overspray fogging and interstage injection involve two-phase flow consideration and water evaporation during compression process (also known as wet compression). According to the Author’s knowledge, the field of wet compression is not completely studied and understood. In the present paper, all the principal aspects of wet compression and in particular the influence of injected water droplet diameter and surface temperature, and their effect on gas turbine performance and on the behavior of the axial compressor (change in axial compressor performance map due to the water injection, redistribution of stage load, etc.) are analyzed by using a calculation code, named IN.FO.G.T.E. (INterstage FOgging Gas Turbine Evaluation), developed and validated by the Authors.

Problems of ensuring the safe operation of an aircraft from the point of view of the fatigue life of its structure are considered. The relevance of the creation and implementation of diagnostic systems for monitoring the technical condition of structures of complex technical objects is shown on the example of a helicopter. An original approach to the creation and implementation of complex systems for diagnostics and monitoring of the technical condition of complex technical objects is presented, combining fiber-optic measuring technology and phase-chronometric method. It is shown that the use of monitoring and diagnostic systems ensures the transition to operation based on the actual technical condition. The proposed approach makes it possible to increase the time between overhaul intervals and reduce excess reserves in terms of the reliability factors of structures, which increases the flight performance of aircraft.

The article analyzes views on innovation in the literary science of the early twentieth century and the work of Alash representatives in an era that is a period filled with profound changes and large-scale innovations in Kazakh society. In addition, works related to freedom, enlightenment, politics, spiritual values, the position of the people as a whole and social changes are considered the idea of independence and continuity. On the way of evolutionary development of the Kazakh literature, artistic power, thematic and ideological character, substantial and stylistic features of poetry of poets in the beginning of the XX century and during the Great Patriotic War, in subsequent years and years of independence are discussed in detail. In addition, on the basis of literary traditions and novelty, the works of prominent poets of Kazakh poetry of the 20th century and Independence are considered and comprehensively characterized, i.e. internal motives, the content of life phenomena in national poetry are analyzed in close connection with the works of poets. The original vision of the traditional and differentiated in the literature of the Soviet period in the works of poets from a new perspective, from the point of view of today. In addition, the works of outstanding poets of Kazakh poetry in the period of the 20th century and independence are considered on the basis of classical tradition and novelty in literature.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to define a general and common construct in order to measure the level of difficulty companies experience when they implement continuous improvement (CI). Additionally, a rank of barriers is obtained together with a rank of companies. Design/methodology/approach In order to achieve the objective, first, a literature review is carried out to specify the domain of the construct; second, a sample of items is selected; third a survey is carried out in companies that have already implemented CI initiatives, the results being thus limited to this population; fourth, measures are purified by analysing the reliability and validity of the measurements, and finally results are obtained. The Rasch measurement theory will be used to provide a new perspective on a mature research topic. Findings It can be concluded that a new valid construct has been defined together with a rank of CI barriers, being lack of time the main barrier. A rank of companies is also obtained which is a first step in the development of future research studies. Practical implications Managers are provided with a better understanding of the barriers that can obstruct CI implementation. Thus, the rank of CI barriers guides managers through the most common and important obstacles so that they will be able to plan better CI strategies. In addition, the rank of companies allows each company to undertake a benchmarking exercise. Originality/value This work proposes a new way of analysing the difficulty in implementing CI as a continuum, rather than as independent barriers. From a theoretical point of view, it defines a new construct and offers a rank of CI barriers together with a rank of companies based on their level of difficulty when implementing CI initiatives. This is something new, as previous studies were mainly focussed on the items side. From a practical point of view, this study offers the surveyed companies the opportunity to see how they are positioned with respect to the other companies. Moreover, this rank of companies is the foundation on which to develop further studies with a practical orientation in the future.

This papers offers a critical discussion on the procedure by which Loop Quantum Cosmology (LQC) is constructed from the full Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG) theory. Revising recent issues in preserving SU(2) symmetry when quantizing the isotropic Universe, we trace a new perspective in approaching the cosmological problem within quantum geometry. The cosmological sector of LQG is reviewed and a critical point of view on LQC is presented. It is outlined how a polymer-like scale for quantum cosmology can be predicted from a proper fundamental graph underlying the homogeneous and isotropic continuous picture. However, such a minimum scale does not coincide with the choice made in LQC. Finally, the perspectives towards a consistent cosmological LQG model based on such a graph structure are discussed.

Robots have been a source of both intrigue and anxiety for artists and a lively apparatus for study by scientific researchers for several decades. Though many people view robots as being cold, unemotional, and frightening, there is a growing field in robotics specifically focused on social applications including therapy, elder care, and the arts. Robots have been utilized extensively in installation art works and sculpture, but the performing arts have been somewhat more resistant to them. Machines which have all the technical abilities to perform tasks, such as playing an instrument or executing choreography without fatiguing or making errors, can be threatening to human performers who have honed these abilities and rely upon them for creative expression and their livelihoods. By synthesizing studies in the scientific field of social robotics, philosophical insight into technology and the arts, and case studies of robots used in dance and other art forms, I seek to provide an alternative point of view of robotic integration into performance. Robots do not need to act only as avatars of human beings, they can be effectively utilized in dance to expand upon the capabilities of the human body, act as automatic ‘puppets’ for choreography, integrate into human performance, and be ‘autonomous’ performers in their own right. Robot dancers do not inherently replace or devalue human artists; instead, they can provide complex insight into the understanding of human bodies, emotions, and technology.

Achieving both esthetics and a perfect seal of the screw-access hole in a screw-retained implant-supported fixed dental restoration is a great challenge. From a functional point of view, a perfect seal needs to be obtained to prevent bacterial contamination along the screw access canal and the occlusion shall be addressed. Such a challenging procedure has to be based on a rational analysis of the different materials used. Screw-retained zirconia-based restorations offer a new perspective for esthetic and biocompatible results. The aim of this article is to describe an easy and reproducible clinical procedure to esthetically seal the screw-access hole of screw-retained implant-supported fixed dental restorations.

Today the stable work of a petrochemical plant and its installations, as well as its efficiency, mostly depends on the reliable and optimal operation of technological equipment. It is very common that technological equipment complexes do not work in an optimal mode, despite the fact that they are controlled by modern automated control systems. If the equipment is stopped for any reason, then no best technology or management systems can compensate for the economic costs and losses that arise in the event of equipment downtime. The solution to this problem is to create computer models that allow you to cover the technological equipment from a single point of view and conduct a number of necessary experiments without resorting to existing equipment. The computer model of the rectification unit is implemented when modeling the section of the technological scheme for the production of liquid fuel of the vacuum gasoil hydrocracking unit.

The purpose of this chapter is to offer a new perspective on how business ethics, and more specifically ethical marketing, can be integrated into ethical education and the teaching of good practices, providing answers for different organizational ethical questions. The authors argue that ethical marketing currently plays a pivotal role in organizations, making it necessary to properly address issues from a moral point of view. Referring to elements related to the marketing area, such as the market itself, costumers, products, promotion, price, place, etc., the authors demonstrate that ethics and its purpose can add value to any organization. The sphere of ethical marketing has had extraordinary visibility, especially throughout the last decades, probably because of how they relate to the four marketing-mix P's. The authors argue that it is crucial to have a solid understanding of the significance of these principles.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyse everyday interactions in a workplace from the point of view of organisational learning, informal learning and peer learning, as well as the possible relationships that can be established between all three. Design/methodology/approach Insights from nine months of ethnographic study provided an operational definition of equality in an organisation, a better understanding of interactions and informal learning between peers, and about psycho-social determining factors or contexts that favour the exchange of knowledge in an organisation. Findings The findings demonstrate the importance of articulating the three elements (organisational learning, informal learning and peer learning) in a joint interpretative framework. With the results generated, it is proposed to move away from the traditional organisational learning based on knowledge and know-how, to a new perspective focused on sharing and participatory opportunities. In other words, without opportunities to participate, without the support and equal access, the fostering of informal learning can be debatable in terms of democracy. Originality/value The results bring the authors closer to being able to design workplace learning strategies that carefully includes the value of participation opportunities and the influence of a dynamic concept of equality. The ethnography in a hospital setting has allowed the authors to gain a better understanding of the contribution of informal learning to the organisation. The focus on the social context and the roles of relationships in informal learning offers new insights into a complex phenomenon.
