With economic globalization and integration development, the agricultural economic of China has reformed deeply. The very important issue in the development of the rural economy is to get the answer of how to achieve the integration of urban and rural areas; how rural surplus labor transfer to the town; how to avoid wanton waste of resources caused by mining, and so on. To solve the above problems and provide strategies to develop the development capability of farmers, the paper analyzed the conditions, background and specific cases of Jiangxi, and analyzed the areas which should be enhanced in priorities of farmers in Jiangxi Province. Finally, the paper provided strategies and policy recommendations to these areas.

1. An analysis by the “generation mortality” method of the specific mortality rates of the urban and rural areas of Scotland for various calendar periods from 1871 onwards shows that the “diagonal law” previously demonstrated for the population of Scotland as a whole, as well as for certain other European countries, holds for these two subdivisions of the community.2. Reasons are given for the assumption that the normalized “generation mortality coefficients” (α values) may be taken as a rough measure of the “healthiness” of the environmental conditions which obtained during the childhood of the generation to which they refer. This affords a basis for the comparison of the “healthiness” of the environment of town and country at different periods in the past.3. Whereas in the earlier half of the nineteenth century the ratio of the α values of country to town was in the neighbourhood of 0·6, indicating that the health conditions in the country might be said to be almost twice as good as in the towns, in 1931 it had risen to almost unity, showing that by that time the town had almost if not quite made up on the country. During this period both town and country conditions showed remarkable improvements, which are reflected in falls of the respective α (× 1000) values in the country from about 12 and in the town from over 20 in 1841, to a common level of about 4·7 in 1931.4. The essential vagueness of the conception of the “healthiness” of an environment is emphasized. It is consequently necessary not to attach too great importance to the estimate of the date, but the figures given in Table 5 confirm the conclusion that, as regards “healthiness”, between 1930 and 1935 conditions in town and country had become nearly equal.

An epidemiological research on gastric cancer mortality rates carried out in the town of Forlì is reported. The results are significant as regards the relation between the urban and rural areas, and show a higher risk for gastric cancer in the rural area. Salivary nitrite measurement in 92 farm workers showed particularly high values (over 30 ppm in 4 individuals). Analysis of histological findings in biopsies performed during endoscopy in 46 persons of the group studied showed a great number of CAG and CAG + IM in asymptomatic individuals.

Roughly two billion people live in areas that regularly suffer from conflict, violence, and instability. Infrastructure development in those areas is very difficult to implement and fund. As an example, electrification systems face major challenges such as ensuring the security of the workforce or reliability of power supply. This paper presents electrification results from an explorative methodology, where the costs and risks of conflict are explicitly considered in a geo-spatial, least cost electrification model. Discount factor and risk premium adjustments are introduced per technology and location in order to examine changes in electrification outlooks in Afghanistan. Findings indicate that the cost optimal electrification mix is very sensitive to the local context; yet, certain patterns emerge. Urban populations create a strong consumer base for grid electricity, in some cases even under higher risk. For peri-urban and rural areas, electrification options are more sensitive to conflict-induced risk variation. In this paper, we identify these inflection points, quantify key decision parameters, and present policy recommendations for universal electrification of Afghanistan by 2030.

The study substantiates the fact that the need to consolidate various approaches to the establishment and development of the rural economy in different countries is increasing, which is explained by the growing degree of transparency of national economies, intensified cooperation between them and the creation of interstate economic entities. In this context, there is a direct correlation between the globalization of the economy and the convergence of rural development policy, which is based on the mechanism of inclusive rural transformation. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the special features of the development of the rural economy as an objective process of market transformation and outline the benefits of the European experience for transition economies. It was substantiated that radical structural and institutional transformations in socioeconomic systems (both sectoral and territorial) were the impetus for the development of the rural economy as a modern phenomenon in the field of scientific knowledge around the world. First of all, this refers to the countries where the agricultural sector predominates in the development of GDP, and there is also a significant share of the rural population in relation to the urban population. It was proved that rural areas require a separate policy and mechanisms to manage their development, develop an appropriate institutional platform for the functioning of the rural economy and rural business, ensure proper living conditions for rural residents, preserve the environment, rural flair as well as cultural and historical heritage. The specific features of inclusive rural transformation in different groups of countries (with transition, agricultural, and urban economies) are highlighted, which reflects the process of increasing rural productivity, expanding employment opportunities, improving access to services and infrastructure, enabling policy influence, etc. It was theoretically proved that the effectiveness of market levers determines intersectoral cooperation and the level of economic development of the country (including the territorial division – urban and rural areas). It was established that the implementation of a successful economic policy on the transition to market principles in some countries, particularly EU member states, and their recognition as leaders of economic growth is accompanied by targeted government support and active innovation-oriented government policy with prudent use of various institutional regulators. The necessity and advantages of using the European experience of rural economy development for the countries with transition economies are proved

As an important link in the development of urban-rural integration, equalization of basic public services in urban and rural areas is the foundation of urban-rural integration and an important aspect of improving the quality of life of urban and rural residents. To understand the level of equalization of basic public services in urban and rural areas, it is necessary to reasonably measure the level of equalization of basic public services. This article constructs an evaluation system for the equalization of basic public services in urban and rural areas from the four dimensions of public education, social security, medical and health, and infrastructure. The entropy method is used to obtain the equalization index of basic public services in Heilongjiang Province. On this basis, a comprehensive analysis of the equalization of basic public services in the integrated development of urban and rural areas is carried out and corresponding policy recommendations are put forward.

Since the reform and opening-up, the speed of urban development is significantly higher than the speed of rural areas. So a large number of rural surplus labor force started to transfer to cities, which has great strategic value and practical value for stimulating local economic growth and increasing farmers' income.

Objective: To estimate and compare the dementia-free life expectancy (DemFLE) and age trends of the population over 60 in 2018 in Jiangxi Province, China, by sex and urban–rural areas. Methods: Based on the Summary of Health Statistics of Jiangxi Province in 2018 and the Sixth National Health Service survey of Jiangxi Province, the model life table is used to estimate the age-specific mortality rate by sex and urban–rural areas. DemFLE and its ratio to life expectancy (LE) were calculated using the Sullivan method. Results: In 2018, the DemFLE at age 60 was 18.48 years for men and 21.31 years for women, accounting for 96.62% and 96.67% of their LE. LE and DemFLE were higher for those in urban areas than in rural areas, except for men aged 90 and above; higher in women than in men, except for people in rural areas aged 90 and above. In urban areas, DemFLE/LE was higher for women than for men; the opposite was observed in rural areas. Urban women had a higher DemFLE/LE than rural women did, urban men had a lower DemFLE/LE than rural men did. Conclusions: With increased LE, DemFLE also increases, but with older age and over time, DemFLE/LE gradually decreases. The effect of dementia on elderly adults becomes more serious. It is necessary for the government to implement a series of prevention strategies to improve the quality of life and health awareness of the elderly. Elderly urban men and elderly rural women need more attention and health care.

The study was based in south-west Uganda where significant differences in HIV prevalence have been found between urban and rural areas. Longitudinal data collected in a diary format was used to determine the extent to which high-risk men and women living in a truck stop/trading town had sexual contact with people from surrounding rural areas and a nearby fishing village. Study participants were 143 men, 75 of whom were resident in the town, 40 in a fishing village and 28 in rural areas, and 81 women, of whom 47 were resident in the town, 25 in the fishing village and 9 in a rural area. During 1687 man weeks the 143 men made 3149 trips and had 5189 sexual contacts. Ninety-two per cent of these sexual contacts occurred in the man's current place of residence and 21% were with a new partner. The 81 women participated for 1280 women weeks during which they recorded 6378 sexual contacts. Women who lived in the fishing village and the rural area had around 90% of their contacts with local men while those who lived in the town fell into 3 categories: women who charged a relatively high price for commercial sex had only 11% of contacts with men living in the town, while those who charged a tenth of the price had 71% of contacts with town men. The small number of women who fell into an intermediate category, in terms of price, had sexual contact with a wide variety of men. These findings show that there is little scope for HIV infection to spread between different residential or occupational groups. This may help to explain how large differences in HIV seropositivity between neighbouring localities can be maintained for long periods, despite considerable social and economic mixing between groups and high levels of sexual partner change within groups.
