The properties of oxide films are very important for improving the mass of ELID grinding surface. In this paper, a novel calculation model of thickness of oxide films was proposed; the theoretical calculation and simulation analysis were developed, and were compared with the corresponding experimental results. The results proved that the theoretical calculation and simulation results of the thickness of the oxide films had good agreement with the experimental results. This model could predict precisely the change of thickness of oxide film, the instinct of non-linear electrolysis was explained from a novel aspect of ability of pulsed electrolysis. This model could be used in the on-line control of electrolytic state during practical ELID grinding process.

The characteristics and research situation of bond-slip performance at the inter face of concrete and other materials are introduced, and the bond-slip constitutive relation models are summarized at the same time. Through the load-slip curves obtained from the pull-out experiment of CFFP, the proposed bond-slip constitutive relation models are presenting, including the simple one. With the numerical simulation analysis of CFFP is carried out by the use of the proposed constitutive relation, while the numerical simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results conducted before, which is feasible and can be applied to further research on CFFP.

A series of numerical simulations utilizing LS-DYNA was performed to determine the mid-point deformations of V-shaped plates due to blast loading. The numerical simulation results were then compared with experimental results from published literature. The V-shaped plate is made of DOMEX 700 and is used underneath an armour personal carrier vehicle as an anti-tank mine to mitigate the effects of explosion from landmines in a battlefield. The performed numerical simulations of blast loading of V-shaped plates consisted of various angles i.e. 60°, 90°, 120°, 150° and 180°; variable mass of explosives located at the central mid-point of the V-shaped vertex with various stand-off distances. It could be seen that the numerical simulations produced good agreement with the experimental results where the average difference was about 26.6%.

Based upon experimental results, the physical processes of fuel-air mixture formation downstream of the emulsifying channel injector (ECI) have been studied and a calculation model for predicting fuel distribution downstream of ECI has been proposed in this paper. The two-dimensional differential equation of diffusion is solved by numerical method and the fuel distribution downstream of ECI is calculated. The calculated values are in good agreement with the experimental results.

The steady non cavitation hydrodynamic characteristics of CLB4-55-1 tandem propeller and the steady cavitation flows of NACA66 hydrofoil are numerically studied firstly based on the RANS equations of homogeneous multiphase using CFD theory, combined with the SST k-ω turbulent model and Z-G-B cavitation model. Numerical simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results, which indicates that the numerical method is reliable and accurate. Then, the cavitation performance of the tandem propeller are numerical simulated and analyzed. The results show that the computational model can predict the cavitation performance of tandem propeller accurately. The cavitation performance of tandem propeller is nearly the same as single propeller, however, the cavitation phenomenon of back propeller is greater than the head propeller at certain advance coefficient and cavitation number. The cavitation phenomenon will disappear with the increase of the advance coefficient or the cavitation number.

This paper presents a study of the stick-slip frictional phenomenon when large contact areas subjected to uneven contact loads are involved. The objective of the investigation is to gain better understanding of the phenomenon from experimental observations and to develop a mathematical representation that can be used for modeling, simulation and design purposes. A dynamic integral-model has been proposed and simulations have been carried out. The effects of various system parameters on the behavior of the system have been studied experimentally and analytically. The simulation results using the proposed integral-model are in good agreement with the experimental results. The latter also show that stick-slip vibrations can be influenced by the loading conditions.

In order to study the curve passing performance of urban track vehicle and to evaluate its safety, the calculation model was established and simplified. Then track irregularity was used as input and passing curve was set up. The simulation modal was produced with software SIMPACK. With the track irregularity, the traveling safety of the vehicle was analyzed. The simulation results show that the traveling safety of the track vehicle could satisfy the requirement of relevant standard.

This paper reports a study on oxide film formation mechanism in electrodeless ELID grinding. The formation mechanism of oxide film was analyzed based on electrochemical principles, its formation model was built and the growth process was also simulated. The simulation results showed that the oxide film thickness h and its growth rate g are nonlinear functions of time t, voltage and duty cycle are important factors which take effect on g and h, and the electrodeless ELID grinding is a process of weak electrolysis and suitable to use micro wheel.

Abstract In this paper, a circular antenna with a 3-D printed substrate is introduced to achieve a multiband behavior. The circular antenna is matched using a key-shaped stub located on the perimeter of the designed antenna. The 3-DP circular antenna adopted the apollonian gasket technique to perform the multi-circular cuttings in the Polylactic Acid (PLA) substrate as an innovative technique to obtain quintuple bands. The proposed antenna is designed to operate for Bluetooth, WLAN, WiMAX, and other wireless applications in S-band and C-band. The designed antenna has a compact size of 61.1 × 43.6 × 1 mm3. The prototype of the suggested 3-D printed antenna is fabricated and measured to confirm the simulation results. A good agreement is evident between simulation and experimental results which validates the design concept.
